Division Rivals Explained

Division Rivals is an online competitive mode in Ultimate Team, featuring a point-based ranking system and offering both Solo and Co-Op gameplay options.

There are ten divisions, plus the Elite Division for top players, which follows Division 1. Each Division includes:
  • Ranks that track your progress and grant access to better Weekly Rewards;
  • Stages, which are the steps between Ranks;
  • Checkpoints to protect progress and ensure players remain at the correct skill level.
Your progression depends on match results:
  • Win: 3 points;
  • Draw: 1 point.
Weekly and Upgrade rewards are earned by accumulating a set number of points before the week ends. At the conclusion of the week, rewards are given based on your current Rank. The higher you climb through Divisions and Ranks, the better your Weekly Rewards will be.

With the exception of the Elite Division, your promotion or relegation in other divisions is determined by the number of points you accumulate during the season.
Division Rivals in Football Club 25 operates on a ladder system, with each Division comprising the following elements:
  • Ranks that reflect your progress within a Division and unlock better Weekly Rewards;
  • Stages, which are the individual steps between Ranks;
  • Checkpoints, that prevent losing progress and ensure that players remain at their appropriate skill level.
Your advancement on the ladder is determined by the outcome of each match:
  • Winning a match gives you 3 points;
  • Drawing a match givew you 1 point;
  • Losing a match doesn’t give you any point.
Yes. Winning two consecutive matches will start a Win Streak. While on a Win Streak, each additional win will move you up two Stages per win, until you draw or lose a match, which will end the streak.
It depends on which division and stage you are in. You can see it in-game on your Rivals dashboard’s [Progress] screen.
If no checkpoint prevents you from going down, you can be relegated to a lower Division. The exception is the Elite Division. Once you make it to the Elite Division, you will remain there throughout the rest of the season.
Yes, you can. As long as you win or lose enough matches to be promoted or relegated, that will happen.
Matchmaking in Division Rivals aims to pair players with opponents from similar Stages and Divisions, taking their physical location into account to assign matches to the appropriate FC Game Data Center. For Elite Division players, matchmaking is limited to other Elite Players, considering both Skill Rating and geographical proximity.
It’s exactly what it sounds like – a way to rate your skills or performance in the Elite Division. With every match you play, your Skill Rating will change. It will increase or decrease based on how you do in your matches.
Who matchmake with you in the Elite Division is impacted by your skill rating. It also determines your overall ranking compared to the other Elite Division players, with the very best making it to the Top 200 Leaderboard.
Each match you play in Division Rivals affects your Skill Rating. Win a match, and your Skill Rating will likely increase; lose, and it will likely decrease. The amount of change depends on both your Skill Rating and your opponent’s.

Winning against an opponent with a higher Skill Rating than yours will boost your rating more than winning against someone with a similar or lower rating. If you draw, your Skill Rating may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged. If your opponent has a lower Skill Rating, yours will drop. If their Skill Rating is the same as yours, it might stay the same. If their Skill Rating is higher, your Skill Rating could increase
In each Elite Division match, the K-Factor is set at 30, representing the maximum possible change in Skill Rating from a single match. The actual gain or loss depends on the difference in Skill Ratings between you and your opponent. In Co-Op matches, Skill Rating calculations are based on the highest-rated player on the opposing team. As a result, teammates and opponents may experience greater fluctuations in their Skill Ratings compared to yours, depending on their individual ratings.
There are two types of Rivals in Football Club 25: base weekly rewards and upgrade weekly rewards. The complete list is published on our website.
Yes, the higher your division and rank are, the better your rewards will be.
In Division Rivals, you earn Weekly Rewards by accumulating 15 or more points before the week ends. At the conclusion of the week, your reward is based on your current Rank. The higher you climb in Divisions and Ranks, the better your Weekly Rewards. For example, if you move from Division 3 to Division 2 during the week, you’ll receive the rewards associated with Division 2.
Base and Upgrade are both weekly rewards, but the second one requires 45 points. Therefore, upgrade rewards are better than base rewards.
The weekly and upgrade rewards are delivered every Thursday at 8:00 UTC, while the milestone rewards are delivered at the end of the season.
Once the weekly competition ends, you can claim your Weekly Rewards shortly after, either in-game or on Web and the Companion App. In some cases, you will get to choose between different reward options.

Rewards could be Coins, packs (either tradeable or untradeable), or Champions Points to help you qualify for Finals Play-Off.
You will not be rewarded for the week you don’t play since the lowest rank requires at least one win.
In each weekly Division Rivals campaign in Football Club, you earn Champions qualifier points based on your division. Once you accumulate enough points, you’ll earn a token to directly qualify for the Champions Play-Off. Any unused points will carry over to the following week.
No. You simply need to reach the required points, regardless of your division. However, each division has a multiplier, making it more challenging to accumulate points in lower divisions due to facing easier opponents.
The competition refreshes every Thursday morning.
Each Division Rivals Season will run for the duration of a Ultimate Team Season. A Season usually lasts about four to six weeks.
There isn’t any cap on the number of games you can play in Division Rivals for Football Club 26.
This game mode is available since day 1. It can be played at any time, seven days a week.
Yes, Champions Finals and Division Rivals can be played simultaneously.
Matchmaking varies depending on whether you’re playing in Divisions 1 to 10 or the Elite Division.

Divisions 10-1
For both Solo and Co-Op matchmaking in Divisions 10–1, players are matched based on two factors:
– Your location. This determines which FC Game Data Center location will be used for your match.
– Your Rank. This means you’ll be matched with players that have a similar Rank as you.
– Your platform. This is considered when cross-play is enabled.

Elite Division Matchmaking
In the Elite Division, matchmaking is based on:
– Your location. This determines which FC Game Data Center location will be used for your match.
– Your Skill Rating. You’ll play with players who are close to the same Skill Rating as you. As long as you have a 2200 Skill Rating or above, you’ll matchmake as if you had a 2200 Skill Rating. This is to help make it easier for higher-skilled players to find matches.
– Your platform. This is considered when cross-play is enabled.

On PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions, the Skill Rating range is broader to accommodate the player base. In Co-Op, the matchmaking uses the Skill Rating of the higher-skilled player, allowing for similarity in Skill Ratings among Co-Op participants.
Yes. Division players can play each other, regardless of their platform.
Yes, it is. However, when teaming up with a friend, you’ll only face opponents on the same platform as you.

If you’d prefer not to play against Co-Op pairs in Rivals, a toggle allows you to choose between a mix of solo players and Co-Op teams or just solo players in your matches.
Champions and Rivals in Football Club 26 are played on a dedicated server.
