FC 25 ASSIGNMENTS
FC 25 Assignments enable you to pre-select the player you want as captain or designate them for taking set-pieces, including penalties, free kicks, and corners.
FC 25 Assignments
The previous Roles screen in Team Management was renamed in Football Club 25 to Assignments. Here you can pre-designate the team captain, the players responsible for set-pieces, and the key players for corner kicks:
- Captain;
- Left Short Free Kick;
- Right Short Free Kick;
- Long Free Kick;
- Penalties;
- Left Corner;
- Right Corner;
- Corner: Target Player;
- Corner: Near Post;
- Corner: Back Post.
How to Set Up FC 25 Assignments
- From the main Ultimate Team screen, press R1/RB three times to select [Club];
- Select [Squad];
- Press L3 to popup [Squad Actions];
- Select [Team Management];
- Press R1/RB once to go to the [Assignments] tab;
- Make the desired changes and save.
The game automatically saves your last configuration, eliminating the need to set it up each time you play. Additionally, you can configure assignments via game plans and access them from the D-Pad.
The Auto-Assign feature, which automatically selected the best players for each role based on their attributes, is no longer available in FC 25.

Captain

This assignment does not influence the game. It’s only relevant to some animations that do not affect your team’s performance. Choose a player of your preference freely.
Left / Right Short Free Kick
The player who will take the short free kicks by default.How to Choose
Identify the player on your team with the highest proficiency in the specified attributes, prioritizing in descending order of importance. Ensure that the selected kick-taker corresponds to the side of the opponent’s goal where the free kick is located; for instance, if the kick-taker is left-footed and the free kick is on the right side, consider choosing an alternative. Take care not to compromise other essential roles when making this selection during set-piece scenarios.

Find the player on your team who is the best in the mentioned attributes (in descending order of importance) and whose preferred foot is the left (for left corners) or right (for right corners). Be careful not to pick someone you need for other assignments during this type of set-piece.

It measures how accurately the player crosses the ball during normal running and free-kick set pieces. - Short Passing
It ranks how well a player performs a short / ground pass to his teammate. - Curve
It measures the player’s ability to curve the ball when passing and shooting. - Free Kick Accuracy
It measures the player’s accuracy for taking Free Kicks. - Preferred Foot
Depending on whether the corner are taken from the right or left side, it’s preferable for the players to be right-footed or left-footed.
When selecting a kick taker, the most important stats of the selected player are immediately displayed. Take note that you can always change the game’s kick taker by holding the R2 / RT button when taking a corner.
Target Man
The player who will be the focus of the corner kick.How to Choose
Identify the player on your team with the highest proficiency in the specified attributes. He must be tall, with strong physical attributes, excellent heading ability, and good positioning to maximize scoring opportunities from crosses and long balls. The players in the Corner Kick Support assignments are unique and cannot be repeated. The Corner Kick Taker also cannot be part of the support.

Frequently Asked Questions
FC 25 Assignments allow you to choose in advance the player you want to be the captain or the set-pieces takers.
There are two ways to set up player assignments in FC 25:
- From the main Ultimate Team screen, press R1/RB twice to select the [Club] tab;
- Select [Squad];
- Press L2/LT to popup [Squad Actions];
- Scroll down to [Team Management];
- Press R1/RB to go to [Assignments];
- Make the desired changes and save.
- Before starting a match, select [Edit Lineup];
- Select [Squad Actions];
- Navigate to [Assignments];
- Make the desired changes and save.
You can switch the kick-taker during a game without pausing by holding R2 or RT, depending on your console. Unlike when you choose the kick-taker in the roles screen, this decision will only impact that specific set piece. The player designated in the player roles screen will take charge in the subsequent set piece.
You don’t have to change the captain unless you want. They have no effect on the gameplay.
