FC 26 Glitches and Bugs

The FIFA/FC franchise has a long history filled with both success and glitches, bugs, hacks, and mistakes.

A glitch is a flaw in the game that players may exploit to gain an unintended advantage. One of the most notorious examples is the ‘No Loss Glitch’ in FIFA 22, which allowed players to avoid losses in Champions matches. EA eventually identified the exploit and banned over 30,000 accounts involved.

A bug is a coding error that impacts the game’s functionality. These often manifest as crashes, freezing, or visual issues. Unlike glitches, bugs are not exploitable and usually hinder the user experience.

Hacking involves tampering with the game’s source code to gain unfair advantages. A notable incident occurred between 2013 and 2015, when a group engaged in large-scale coin farming. The case drew the attention of the FBI, leading to prosecution—and ultimately, the tragic suicide of the group’s leader.

Mistakes are errors made by EA, such as incorrect rewards being distributed, wrong items appearing in packs, or inaccurate announcements. These issues are usually acknowledged and corrected by the publisher.
