The Team of the Year promo is the oldest and most prestigious event in the Ultimate Team cycle. It is also one of the most profitable for Electronic Arts.

Commonly known as TOTY, this event celebrates the best eleven players based on their real-world performances over the previous calendar year. The final selection is made through a combination of EA and community votes from a shortlist of 100+ players.

The eleven special cards receive major upgrades and are available in packs for two weeks, alongside other exciting offers.

FC 26 Team of the Year cards are special items given to the best eleven players of the past year, temporarily replacing their regular cards. These items feature substantial upgrades to ratings and stats, reflecting elite-level performance.
FC 26 Team of the Year is chosen by the community, who vote from a shortlist of 100+ players nominated by EA Sports for their real-life performances over the past year. The final lineup is determined through a combination of community and EA SPORTS votes.
The FC 26 Team of the Year is an annual release featuring the world’s top eleven players. Each squad (men and women) includes one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards, with any player from each position eligible for selection. A 12th player is also added, chosen through a community vote.
TOTY items cannot be upgraded. Their stats are fixed and remain unchanged throughout the game.
You can get an FC 26 Team of the Year item the same way as most other cards, either by opening packs or buying them from the transfer market. To try your luck, head to the store and use coins or FC Points to purchase packs. These special items can be found in a variety of packs that include player cards, even some free ones.
TOTY items start appearing in packs on Friday, but they aren’t released all at once. Instead, players are added in phases based on their positions. Defenders, midfielders, and forwards enter packs separately, with all TOTY items becoming available together at a later stage in the promo.
Yes, with few exceptions, when you obtained the packs doesn’t matter. What you get inside depends solely on when you open them. The best time to open packs is once all FC 26 Team of the Year players are available.
TOTY is a team chosen by the FIFA community, representing the best players of the calendar year. In contrast, TOTS (Team of the Season) features the top players from each league based on their performance during the football season, which usually runs from August to May.
