FC 27 crossplay refers to the feature that enables you to play with friends across different platforms, allowing you to compete or cooperate regardless of the console they use.
Cross-play is accessible for players using the same platform generation:
- PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC;
- PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Cross-play is not supported on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. Players on these platforms can only play against others on the same system.
This feature was initially tested by Electronic Arts in FIFA 22 in May 2022 but was limited. In FIFA 23, it was available from the launch date. Currently, crossplay is available in all all multiplayer online modes.

Highly requested by fans, crossplay in FC 27 does not change gameplay mechanics. This feature enables players within the same console generation to compete with one another.
The advantages of crossplay go beyond playing with friends. A larger player pool means faster matchmaking and a higher chance of facing opponents with similar skill levels.
Ultimate Team is the mode most affected by crossplay. Players across platforms now share the same Transfer Market, except for PC and Switch, which continue to have separate markets.
A unified market balances card availability, reduces pricing differences, and promotes fair competition. It also improves the experience on platforms with fewer items, making it easier to find what you need.
How to Crossplay
Cross-play lets players on different systems enjoy the same game together. By enabling cross-play, you’ll compete online against users on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. Choosing not to enable it means you’ll only face players using the same system as yours.
Opting out of cross-play can increase matchmaking times, since the pool of available opponents is smaller. Enabling cross-play guarantees that matchmaking searches across the widest possible range of opponents.
How to enable Crossplay in Ultimate Team
- From the main UT screen, press R1/RB to navigate to [Settings];
- Press R1/RB twice to navigate to [Matchmaking Options];
- Choose ‘Yes’ for ‘Cross-Play Opt-in/Opt-out’. If you decide to disable crossplay, you just need to change it back to ‘No’.
When cross-play is active, a widget appears in the bottom right corner of the main FC 27 menu, accessible using the indicated button prompt. Through this EA Connect widget, you can turn cross-play on or off, search for friends across platforms, and block or mute players if needed.

There are two ways to enable the crossplay feature:

- From the matchmaking options settings screen

If you’ve already met them in-game, search for their name as usual. If you know them from playing other games, search for them in-game using:
- their Origin name if they’re playing on PC;
- their PlayStation Network Online ID if they’re on PlayStation;
- their Gamertag if they’re on Xbox.
Use the widget in the bottom right-hand corner to search for your friend by his platform or EA username as indicated by the on-screen button prompt. Once you have found your friend’s name, select him and choose the option to add him as a friend. Your friend should accept your request in the widget.
Assuming crossplay is enabled, you can select his name from your friend’s list in the widget and follow the button prompts to invite him to a match.
When you’re searching for a friend on the main menu widget, you will see a crossplay platform indicator beside his name. If your friend is on the same platform as you, the indicator will show the platform you’re on. If your friend is on a different platform, a different Indicator will be shown.
