Introduction to the FUT 15 Serie A Guide

Building a team is the biggest challenge on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. It doesn’t need to be the best team, because your budget may not allow it, but it is player’s stature that helps him obtain success.

When choosing which players to play with, you will have to look carefully at their attributes. Choosing a team based on ratings is one of the most common mistakes on FUT 15. It’s precisely this aspect that this guide focuses on. For each position, and focusing on the truly important attributes, we’ll show you who are the best athletes to choose.

It’s also important that you check to see if the player you choose fits the formations you like to play in. For example, a good full back will be useless if you only use a formation with three defenders. According to these formations, you must be cautious and look at the work rate. Try to relate them with the ones we advise in our Formations Guide.

Last but not least, it’s mandatory that you tune all of your team so that the individual and team chemistry will be as high possible. For this last step to be easier, the majority of the players start to define the type of team they’re building. Some choose to gather players of the same nationality, while others decide to form a team of players from the same league. The most popular is the Barclays Premier League. There are also more experienced players that can form hybrid squads without damaging team chemistry a lot.

All of these steps are necessary to have; or it could mean that the team is not always well built as it could be. This article aims to help those that want to form a FIFA 15 Ultimate Team based on players from the Serie A. Even the players that have a Serie A team, could take out some valuable conclusions from this guide that could help them make their team even better.

We received thousands of comments about similar guides that we have published in previous years. Most of them have asked us to help improve their teams and the players they had. It’s important that the readers understand that this guide is simply guidance. It’s a theme too vast and the player combinations are almost infinite. Besides, there are various factors that influence the choices, like one’s style of play, the formations used, the available budget, the preferences or even the time spent playing. There’s still one uncertain component: a good player for someone might not be for another. If there was a better team everyone would fight to get it. Part of the fun of FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is this: everyone has their personal club and players.

Another important point and that must stay very clear is that whoever is reading this guide, it’s about the criteria we chose and should be of everyone’s knowledge:

  • Only Gold Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider silver or bronze players. Most players don’t assume them to be a better option than gold players, so to simplify the guide’s analysis we didn’t include them. In the future we may come to publish guides exclusively talking about these categories.
  • Only Regular Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider In Forms (IF). They’re extremely expensive and in most cases are not considered good value for money. They should only be used by players with generous budgets, that already have the best team possible and that want small upgrades.
  • Only Normal Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider players that have been transferred to other clubs or that have been reviewed (UP). Only players that started their season in the Serie A and with their original attributes were considered.
  • Only Original Attributes
    • In this guide we didn’t consider changes made on a players performance such happens when applying training or chemistry styles cards.
  • Position analysis
    • To make the comprehension of this guide easier we divided the players in nine distinct groups in order of their original position: Goalkeeper (GK), central backs (CB), right backs (RB and RWB), left backs (LB and LWB), central defensive midfielders (CDM) central midfielders (CM and CAM), right midfielders (RM, RW and RF), left midfielders (LM, LW and LF) and forwards (CF and ST).
  • Prices at the date of publication of the guide
    • In the chapter where FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Serie A teams are suggested, the prices considered are the ones of the date of the guide’s publication: December 2014. It’s natural that the prices have suffered some peaks and troughs throughout the season, so they should only be considered as guiding prices.

    Serie A

The Serie A is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, but the football is not as spectacular as it is in UK, Spain or Germany.

The qualification of the champion is made through the made points system. Whichever team gathers the most points wins the league. The first three classified teams gain access to the champions league of the next year, while the fourth and fifth qualify for the Europa League and the last three trade places with the first three qualified from the Serie B. Every season starts in September and finishes in May, having 38 game weeks with ten matches each, being a total of 380 matches per season.

The Serie A is the fourth best league classified in the UEFA league coefficients.

Started in 1898, the Italian league has been conquered by sixteen clubs. The dominant club is Juventus, with a total of 30 titles. AC Milan (18), Inter (18) and Genova (9) are the other teams that have won numerous titles.

As to last season, the Serie A lost some good players such as Cristante (Benfica), Robinho (Santos), Kaká (Orlando City), Livaja (Rubin Kazan), Diego Milito (Racing Club), Walter Samuel (FC Basel), Esteban Cambiasso (Leicester), Javier Zanetti (retirado), Vucinic (Al-Jazira Abu Dhabi), Pandev (Galatasaray), Abel Hernández (Hull City) and Alessio Cerci (Atlético Madrid). But, the biggest out transfers were the move of Mehdi Benatia from Roma to FC Bayern by 25 million Euros and of Mario Balotelli from AC Milan to Liverpool by 20 million Euros.

These transfers didn’t necessarily make the Serie A weaker. The Italian teams spent a few million Euros on strong reinforcements: Diego López, Fernando Torres, Adil Rami, J. Ménez, Alex and Didac (AC Milan), Ashley Cole and Manolas (Roma), Micah Richards (Fiorentina), Medel, Osvaldo and Vidic (Inter), David López, De Guzmán and Eduardo Vargas (Napoli), Lucas Evangelista and Guilherme (Udinese). But the biggest transfers of the season happened in Turin. Evra and Mórata joined Serie A by 20 million Euros.

Serie A is a good choice for those who are looking for quality players, but don’t have a large budget. There is not many choices, but the players in Serie A are probably the best value for money.

FUT 15 Serie A Goalkeepers (GK)

Goalkeepers are the players that are used least on the field. Because of this they are also first ignored when building a team. Most players start their purchases with a forward, later they strengthen the midfield the defence and only later the goal. The truth is a good goalkeeper may be worth a lot of goals. They are a good investment because they are normally the most economically accessible players.

The goalkeepers with most prestige in the Serie A are the charismatic Gianluigi Buffon, the new signing Diego López and the Slovenian National team goalkeeper Samir Handanovič. With having the best rating they are also the most searched for by this league’s teams so this makes them more expensive.

    MOST HIGH-RATED GOALKEEPERS
    Diego López 83 Milan Spain
    Samir Handanovič 83 Inter Slovenia
    Gianluigi Buffon 82 Juventus Italy
    Federico Marchetti 79 Lazio Italy
Morgan De Sanctis 79 Roma Italy
    Antonio Mirante 78 Parma Italy
    Andrea Consigli 78 Sassuolo Italy
    Emiliano Viviano 77 Sampdoria Italy
Jean Francois Gillet 77 Torino Belgium
    Mattia Perin 76 Genoa Italy

When choosing a good goalkeeper it’s not only down to his rating. There are two fundamental attributes for choosing a good goalkeeper: reflexes and diving.

The first measures a goalkeeper’s agility when making a save. The best on this aspect are Samir Handanovič and Federico Marchetti.

    GOALKEEPERS WITH BEST REFLEXES
    Samir Handanovič 85 Inter Slovenia
    Federico Marchetti 84 Lazio Italy
    Andrea Consigli 83 Sassuolo Italy
    Mattia Perin 83 Genoa Italy
    Neto 83 Fiorentina Brazil
    Emiliano Viviano 82 Sampdoria Italy
    Michael Agazzi 82 Milan Italy
Morgan De Sanctis 81 Roma Italy
    Antonio Mirante 81 Parma Italy
    Diego López 80 Milan Spain

Diving is a fundamental attribute when choosing a goalkeeper. It measures the capacity for a goalkeeper to make a save when jumping.

Samir Handanovič is also the best one with this attribute.

    GOALKEEPER WITH BEST DIVING
    Samir Handanovič 87 Inter Slovenia
    Gianluigi Buffon 84 Juventus Italy
    Federico Marchetti 81 Lazio Italy
    Željko Brkić 81 Udinese Serbia
    Christian Abbiati 81 Milan Italy
    Diego López 80 Milan Spain
    Andrea Consigli 80 Sassuolo Italy
    Antonio Mirante 80 Parma Italy
Morgan De Sanctis 79 Roma Italy
    Neto 79 Fiorentina Brazil

The most experienced Ultimate Team players know that another leaning factor on a goalkeeper’s performance without considering the remaining four attributes: height. The more tall a goalkeeper is, better his chances of having a clean sheet.

The Serie A goalkeepers are very tall. From the fourteen goalies, nine have at least 190cm. Diego Lopez is the tallest one, 3cm taller than Handanovič.

    TALLEST GOALKEEPERS
    Diego López 196 Milan Spain
    Emiliano Viviano 195 Sampdoria Italy
    Željko Brkić 195 Udinese Serbia
    Samir Handanovič 193 Inter Slovenia
    Antonio Mirante 193 Parma Italy
    Gianluigi Buffon 191 Juventus Italy
    Neto 191 Fiorentina Brazil
    Christian Abbiati 191 Milan Italy
Morgan De Sanctis 190 Roma Italy
    Andrea Consigli 189 Sassuolo Italy

The choice for the best Serie A goalkeeper on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is really easy.

Besides being the best in the two most important attributes, Samir Handanovič is also one of the fastest goalkeepers and with better handling. For us, Diego López is the number two. He is the tallest Serie A goalkeeper and the one with better kicking and handling. Federico Marchetti, the second player with best diving + reflexes, is our economic choice.

FUT 15 Serie A Centre Backs (CB)

A goalkeepers task is made easier if in front of him are quality centre backs. Their function is to stop the opponent from getting dangerously close to your team’s goal.

Giorgio Chiellini, Nemanja Vidić and Andrea Barzagli are the centre backs with the best reputation in the Serie A.

    HIGHEST RATED CENTRE BACKS
    Giorgio Chiellini 84 Juventus Italy
    Nemanja Vidić 83 Inter Serbia
    Andrea Barzagli 83 Juventus Italy
    Alex 82 Milan Brazil
    Leandro Castán 81 Roma Brazil
    Raúl Albiol 80 Napoli Spain
    Gonzalo Rodríguez 79 Fiorentina Argentina
    Adil Rami 79 Milan France
    Gabriel Paletta 79 Parma Italy
    Kamil Glik 79 Torino Poland
    Hugo Campagnaro 79 Inter Argentina
    Martín Cáceres 79 Juventus Uruguay
    Leonardo Bonucci 79 Juventus Italy
    Stefan Savić 78 Fiorentina Montenegro
    Juan Jesus 78 Inter Brazil

With a centre back, two attributes assume particular importance on their performance: defending and the new attribute physical, which represents strength, stamina, aggression and jumping.

A player with better defending will have an easier chance of dispossessing the opponent and avoid him reaching your box.

It’s the case of the best rated players: Giorgio Chiellini, Nemanja Vidić and Andrea Barzagli. It’s really hard to get past hem. The most experienced players are normally those who have a higher rating on this attribute. Hugo Campagnaro and Alex prove this.

    CENTRE BACKS WITH BEST DEFENDING
    Giorgio Chiellini 87 Juventus Italy
    Andrea Barzagli 86 Juventus Italy
    Nemanja Vidić 84 Inter Serbia
    Alex 84 Milan Brazil
    Leandro Castán 84 Roma Brazil
    Raúl Albiol 83 Napoli Spain
    Adil Rami 83 Milan France
    Hugo Campagnaro 82 Inter Argentina
    Martín Cáceres 82 Juventus Uruguay
    Angelo Ogbonna 82 Juventus Italy
    Gabriel Paletta 81 Parma Italy
    Kamil Glik 81 Torino Poland
    Gonzalo Rodríguez 81 Fiorentina Argentina
    Davide Astori 81 Roma Italy
    Stefan Savić 81 Fiorentina Montenegro

The new physical attribute shows the old heading capability but also how likely the players are to win game with their body. This is a crucial attribute when looking for the best centre back.

In this chapter Chiellini, Vidic and Alex are the strongest ones.

    CENTRE BACKS WITH BEST PHYSICAL
    Giorgio Chiellini 86 Juventus Italy
    Nemanja Vidić 83 Inter Serbia
    Alex 83 Milan Brazil
    Adil Rami 82 Milan France
    Gabriel Paletta 82 Parma Italy
    Lorik Cana 82 Lazio Albania
    Michaël Ciani 82 Lazio France
    Leandro Castán 81 Roma Brazil
    Juan Jesus 81 Inter Brazil
    Hugo Campagnaro 80 Inter Argentina
    Cristian Zapata 80 Milan Colombia
    Philippe Mexès 80 Milan France
    Kostas Manolas 80 Roma Greece
    Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa 80 Roma France
    Yohan Benalouane 80 Atalanta Tunisia

Defending and heading may be useless against fast opponents. It’s necessary to fight fire with fire. No one likes feeling impotent when seeing you get overrun by extremely fast players. Even though, in a way, centre backs aren’t that fast, every team needs one of these players with a high pace attribute.

Martín Cáceres is the fastest in Serie A and the second gold centre back in the world. But there are other fast players in Serie A, like Juan Jesus and Manolas.

    CENTRE BACKS WITH BEST PACE
    Martín Cáceres 82 Juventus Uruguay
    Kostas Manolas 79 Roma Greece
    Juan Jesus 78 Inter Brazil
    Giorgio Chiellini 76 Juventus Italy
    Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa 76 Roma France
    Andrea Barzagli 75 Juventus Italy
    Angelo Ogbonna 73 Juventus Italy
    Philippe Mexès 73 Milan France
    Cristian Zapata 72 Milan Colombia
    Leandro Castán 71 Roma Brazil
    Hugo Campagnaro 71 Inter Argentina
    Leonardo Bonucci 69 Juventus Italy
    Adil Rami 68 Milan France
    Davide Astori 68 Roma Italy
    Thomas Heurtaux 68 Udinese France

Giorgio Chiellini is our number one choice for this position. He is fast and the one with better defending and physical stats. The Juventus’ defender is the most expensive of all centre backs in Serie A.

Andrea Barzagli is slightly better than Martín Cáceres, while Alex or Vidic can be very useful in squads with three centre backs. Juan Jesus is our economic choice. He is fast and has good defending and physical stats.

FUT 15 Serie A Right Backs (RB and RWB)

Full backs have the role of troubling the job of wingers. In addition, good full backs also support their team mates on offensive manoeuvres.

Maicon is the most popular right back playing in Serie A.

    HIGHEST RATED RIGHT BACKS
    Maicon 79 Roma Brazil
    Micah Richards 77 Fiorentina England
    Christian Maggio 76 Napoli Italy
    Abdoulay Konko 76 Lazio France
Mattia De Sciglio 76 Milan Italy
    Dušan Basta 75 Lazio Serbia

There are very important attributes for any right back: defending and pace.

Since they’re defenders they should have good defending capacities. This reduces a team’s risk of conceding.

Maicon is most popular right back of Serie A but Micah Richards defends better than him.

    RIGHT BACKS WITH BEST DEFENDING
    Micah Richards 78 Fiorentina England
    Maicon 76 Roma Brazil
Mattia De Sciglio 74 Milan Italy
    Dušan Basta 73 Lazio Serbia
    Christian Maggio 72 Napoli Italy
    Abdoulay Konko 72 Lazio France

A flanked game tends to be faster than a game based in the middle of the field. The players that fill these spaces are obligated to be fast, both penetrating defensive and attacking moves of the team. Pace is one of the most important requirements for a good full back.

Konko and De Sciglio are the only ones that may be considered fast players.

    RIGHT BACKS WITH BEST PACE
    Abdoulay Konko 86 Lazio France
Mattia De Sciglio 85 Milan Italy
    Micah Richards 79 Fiorentina England
    Maicon 78 Roma Brazil
    Christian Maggio 78 Napoli Italy
    Dušan Basta 77 Lazio Serbia

Maicon is the most complete right back playing in Serie A. He has the best shooting, the best passing and the best dribbling. In our opinion he is the best one. However, he is not a fast player. If that is a problem to you, then try Konko.

If you don’t have enough coins to buy them, choose Mattia De Sciglio. He has poor defensive stats but he is really fast, which may be important too. If you are looking for someone with better defensive skills, you can try Micah Richards. He is the right back who defends best in this league.

Best FUT 15 Serie A Left Backs (LB e LWB)

Left backs have exactly the same role of their team mates on the other flank. In other words, they try to make a winger’s job hard and participate in the team’s offensive manoeuvres.

A team’s left flank has even less options than the right but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has less quality. There are only three left backs but two of them are players that stand out in this position: Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra.

    HIGHEST RATED LEFT BACKS
    Ashley Cole 81 Roma England
    Patrice Evra 80 Juventus France
    Stefan Radu 77 Lazio Romania

The Serie A left backs defend equally well.

    LEFT BACKS WITH BEST DEFENDING
    Stefan Radu 81 Lazio Romania
    Ashley Cole 80 Roma England
    Patrice Evra 79 Juventus France

Evra and Radu are faster than Cole.

    LEFT BACKS WITH BEST PACE
    Patrice Evra 79 Juventus France
    Stefan Radu 78 Lazio Romania
    Ashley Cole 73 Roma England

Patrice Evra is, in our opinion, the best left back playing in Serie A. His pace is enough to make the difference between him and our second choice, Ashley Cole. Radu, the economic choice, should be used if you need someone to defend.

Best FUT 15 Serie A Central Defensive Midfielder (CDM)

Many of the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team formations require some midfielders that have a natural aptitude to defend. Central defensive midfielders distinguish themselves for being especially aimed to help the more retreated line of their teams. According to their attributes and their work rates, they can also be useful for starting attacks. They are players that occupy a very strategic position in the field.

The supremacy of Daniele De Rossi over all other Serie A central defensive midfielders is extremely clear.

    HIGHEST RATED CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS
Daniele De Rossi 84 Roma Italy
Nigel de Jong 81 Milan Netherlands
    Gökhan Inler 79 Napoli Switzerland
    Yann M’Vila 78 Inter France
    Cristian Ledesma 77 Lazio Italy
    Seydou Keita 77 Roma Mali
    Sulley Muntari 76 Milan Ghana
    Gary Medel 76 Inter Chile
    David Pizarro 75 Fiorentina Chile
    Zdravko Kuzmanović 75 Inter Serbia

There are a variety of attributes in a central defensive midfielder that you have to give attention: defending, so that the first defender of team works; strength, so that you win all brawls in a prone area of the field; heading, to win possession in aerial moves like goal kicks; pace, so that you cover the most terrain on the field as possible; stamina, so they can equally participate in offensive and defensive moves (especially useful for players with high/high work rates); passing and possession so that he can properly start attacks. In our opinion the two first are the most important.

Normally using a central defensive midfielder is associated with having a deficit of elements in your defence. So, it makes sense that when you search for a player to occupy this position you’d want players that can defend.

The CDM with best defending stats is Daniele De Rossi. He is a really good choice for teams that want to complicate an opponent’s game in the space between the midfield and the defence.

CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS WITH BEST DEFENDING
Daniele De Rossi 82 Roma Italy
Nigel de Jong 78 Milan Netherlands
    Gary Medel 78 Inter Chile
    Yann M’Vila 77 Inter France
    Gökhan Inler 75 Napoli Switzerland
    Seydou Keita 75 Roma Mali
    Sulley Muntari 74 Milan Ghana
    Michaël Essien 74 Milan Ghana
    Zdravko Kuzmanović 73 Inter Serbia
    Cristian Ledesma 68 Lazio Italy

The area of the field occupied by the central defensive midfielders is the one where most ball disputes happen. Strong players will have a higher probability of winning the ball.

Once again, De Rossi stands out. Only Gary Medel has better physical than him. On the other hand there’s Cristian Ledesma. The Italian player rarely wins a physical brawl due to being the weakest central defensive midfielder from the main Italian League.

CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS WITH BEST PHYSICAL
    Gary Medel 86 Inter Chile
Daniele De Rossi 84 Roma Italy
    Sulley Muntari 83 Milan Ghana
Nigel de Jong 82 Milan Netherlands
    Zdravko Kuzmanović 78 Inter Serbia
    Gökhan Inler 77 Napoli Switzerland
    Yann M’Vila 77 Inter France
    Seydou Keita 77 Roma Mali
    Michaël Essien 77 Milan Ghana
    Cristian Ledesma 71 Lazio Italy

De Rossi is without a doubt the best in this position by far. No other player can guarantee this quality on the field. He is a balanced defensive midfielder with great stats in almost every attributes.

The difficult scenario would be to choose between Yann M’Villa and Sulley Muntari. The first one is faster but the Milan player is stronger and with much better positioning. He is our economic choice.

Best FUT 15 Serie A Centre Midfielders (CM e CAM)

A lot of games are decided in the midfield and not close to the goals. The players that play in these zones are the ones that should create the game and define its rhythm.

There is much quality in the Serie A midfield. Some of the world’s best footballers play there. Look at Pirlo, Pogba and Vidal.

    HIGHEST RATED CENTRE MIDFIELDERS
    Arturo Vidal 85 Juventus Chile
    Andrea Pirlo 84 Juventus Italy
    Paul Pogba 83 Juventus France
Miralem Pjanić 83 Roma Bosnia Herz…
    Claudio Marchisio 83 Juventus Italy
    Marek Hamšik 83 Napoli Slovakia
    Borja Valero 82 Fiorentina Spain
    Dries Mertens 82 Napoli Belgium
    Hernanes 82 Inter Brazil
    Kevin Strootman 81 Roma Netherlands
    Riccardo Montolivo 81 Milan Italy
    José Callejón 80 Napoli Spain
    Radja Nainggolan 79 Roma Belgium
    Keisuke Honda 79 Milan Japan
    Fredy Guarín 79 Inter Colombia

Centre midfielders are responsible for discovering lines that break the opponents defence. Their passing quality has to be really good so they can assist forwards.

Even though Miralem Pjanić and Borja Valero have great passing stat, Andrea Pirlo is the second best in the world. In all leagues, only Xavi is better than him in this attribute.

    CENTRE MIDFIELDERS WITH BEST PASSING
    Andrea Pirlo 91 Juventus Italy
Miralem Pjanić 85 Roma Bosnia Herz…
    Borja Valero 85 Fiorentina Spain
    Hernanes 83 Inter Brazil
    Riccardo Montolivo 83 Milan Italy
    Marek Hamšik 82 Napoli Slovakia
    Keisuke Honda 82 Milan Japan
    Alberto Aquilani 82 Fiorentina Italy
    Luca Cigarini 82 Atalanta Italy
    Claudio Marchisio 81 Juventus Italy
    Arturo Vidal 80 Juventus Chile
    Dries Mertens 80 Napoli Belgium
    Stefano Mauri 80 Lazio Italy

    CENTRE MIDFIELDERS WITH BEST DRIBBLING
    Dries Mertens 87 Napoli Belgium
    Lorenzo Insigne 85 Napoli Italy
    Marko Marin 85 Fiorentina Germany
Miralem Pjanić 84 Roma Bosnia Herz…
    Hernanes 84 Inter Brazil
    Mateo Kovačić 84 Inter Croatia
    Claudio Marchisio 83 Juventus Italy
    Paul Pogba 83 Juventus France
    Matías Fernández 83 Fiorentina Chile
    Andrea Pirlo 82 Juventus Italy
    Marek Hamšik 82 Napoli Slovakia
    José Callejón 82 Napoli Spain
    Arturo Vidal 81 Juventus Chile
    Borja Valero 81 Fiorentina Spain
    Fredy Guarín 81 Inter Colombia

Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba are undoubtedly the best players for this position. Both are strong, fast and with great stats for all other attributes, including amazing stamina. Vidal can play very well as CDM if you need. Our third choice is Claudio Marchisio. He is much better than Pirlo, who is weak and slow.

Dries Mertens is also an interesting player. He is the second fastest midfielder and the one with best dribbling. These two attributes are two of the most important in FIFA 15. He is much cheaper than the Vidal and Pogba, which makes him our economic choice.

Cuadrado and Candreva are the two right wingers most popular who play in Serie A.

    HIGHEST RATED RIGHT WINGERS
    Juan Cuadrado 83 Fiorentina Colombia
    Antonio Candreva 83 Lazio Italy
    Jonathan Biabiany 79 Parma France
    Joaquín 78 Fiorentina Spain
    Jérémy Ménez 78 Milan France
    Jonathan 77 Inter Brazil
    Stephan Lichtsteiner 77 Juventus Switzerland
Juan Manuel Iturbe 77 Roma Argentina
    Alessandro Florenzi 76 Roma Italy
Valter Birsa 76 Chievo Verona Slovenia

There are three fundamental attributes for a winger: pace, dribbling and passing.

Pace is probably the biggest weapon of these players. They use it to evade opponents and getting to the other side, many times via sprints on the side lines.

The Serie A is extremely well served in this chapter. Three gold players have pace over 92, being the highlighted Jonathan Biabiany.

    FASTEST RIGHT WINGERS
    Jonathan Biabiany 96 Parma France
    Juan Cuadrado 93 Fiorentina Colombia
Juan Manuel Iturbe 92 Roma Argentina
    Jonathan 86 Inter Brazil
    Antonio Candreva 85 Lazio Italy
    Jérémy Ménez 85 Milan France
    Stephan Lichtsteiner 84 Juventus Switzerland
    Ioannis Fetfatzidis 83 Genoa Greece
    Simone Pepe 81 Juventus Italy
    Alessandro Florenzi 80 Roma Italy

Just being fast doesn’t cut it to reach the opponents box, having good dribbling to surpass the opponents’ players that appear on the way.

There are a lot of players gifted in dribbling, being Cuadrado the best one.

    RIGHT WINGERS WITH BEST DRIBLLING
    Juan Cuadrado 87 Fiorentina Colombia
    Antonio Candreva 84 Lazio Italy
Juan Manuel Iturbe 84 Roma Argentina
    Ioannis Fetfatzidis 84 Genoa Greece
    Jérémy Ménez 83 Milan France
    Jonathan Biabiany 82 Parma France
    Joaquín 80 Fiorentina Spain
    Simone Pepe 80 Juventus Italy
    Jonathan 78 Inter Brazil
    Alessandro Florenzi 77 Roma Italy

When reaching the opponents box the winger has to decide what to do. Normally, they choose to cross to the forwards. That is why it’s important for them to have good passing.

Only Candreva and Joaquín offer good quality passing. Biabiany, for example, could’ve been an option to consider filling this slot in virtue of his fantastic pace, but he is affected negatively for missing frequently passes to his more forward team mates.

    RIGHT WINGERS WITH BEST PASSING
    Antonio Candreva 82 Lazio Italy
    Joaquín 80 Fiorentina Spain
Valter Birsa 78 Chievo Verona Slovenia
    Juan Cuadrado 76 Fiorentina Colombia
    Simone Pepe 75 Juventus Italy
    Stephan Lichtsteiner 73 Juventus Switzerland
    Jonathan 72 Inter Brazil
    Alessandro Florenzi 72 Roma Italy
    Jonathan Biabiany 70 Parma France
    Jérémy Ménez 70 Milan France

There are only two good players for this position but it is really difficult to choose between them. Candreva is slightly better than Cuadrado in almost every stat, including much better stamina. However, the pace of the Colombian player can make the difference. What he lacks in these attributes he highly compensates with his pace. That’s the main reason why we consider him the best Serie A right winger.

Biabiany, the fastest gold player, is our economic choice.

Serie A Left Wingers (LM, LW e LF)

The left wingers have exactly the same role as their team mates from the other side.

Gervinho and Stephan El Shaarawy are the two most popular left wingers playing in Serie A.

    HIGHEST RATED LEFT WINGERS
    Gervinho 81 Roma Ivory Coast

    Yuto Nagatomo 76 Inter Japan
    Adem Ljajić 76 Roma Serbia
Balde Diao Keita 76 Lazio Spain
    Maxime Lestienne 75 Genoa Belgium

Even though they’re fast, Keita and Nagamoto are far away from Gervinho, the fastest left winger in Serie A.

    LEFT WINGERS WITH BEST PACE
    Gervinho 93 Roma Ivory Coast
Balde Diao Keita 89 Lazio Spain

El Shaarawy and Gervinho are the most highlighted left wingers in this chapter.

Left wingers in Serie A don’t have a good passing. Bonaventura and Vargas are the best ones.

    LEFT WINGERS WITH BEST PASSING
    Giacomo Bonaventura 77 Milan Italy
Juan Manuel Vargas 77 Fiorentina Peru

There is lack of quality left wingers in Serie A. It’s probably the weakest position of this league.

In our opinion, Gervinho is the best left winger. His stats are not great, but pace and dribbling, which are the most important ones, look amazing. He is faster and has much better stamina than El Shaarawy, our second choice.

If you are looking for someone that also help your defence, you should try Kwadwo Asamoah. He is not as fast as Gervinho and El Shaarawy, but he is a more balanced player. The Ghanaian winger is the strongest and one of the best in any of the other five basic attributes. Besides that, he has high/high work rate which is great for a player with stamina 88 like him.

Serie A Forwards (CF and ST)

The forwards are the players on which fall the most responsibility of scoring goals.

Carlos Tévez and Gonzalo Higuaín are the most popular forwards playing in Serie A.

    HIGHEST RATED FORWARDS
    Carlos Tévez 85 Juventus Argentina
    Gonzalo Higuaín 84 Napoli Argentina
    Giuseppe Rossi 82 Fiorentina Italy
    Rodrigo Palacio 82 Inter Argentina
    Mario Gomez 82 Fiorentina Germany
    Fernando Torres 81 Milan Spain
    Llorente 81 Juventus Spain
    Miroslav Klose 81 Lazio Germany
    Francesco Totti 80 Roma Italy
    Antonio Cassano 80 Parma Italy
    Fabio Quagliarella 78 Torino Italy
    Michu 78 Napoli Spain
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo 78 Inter Italy
Antonio Di Natale 78 Udinese Italy
    Germán Denis 78 Atalanta Argentina

To score goals shooting is necessary. If either by foot or head, the most important attribute for a forward are: shooting, heading and pace.

Most goals are scored with the foot so good shooting is a necessary attribute for a forward.

Carlos Tévez and Gonzalo Higuaín are the Serie A forwards with the best shooting. This means the best forwards are the ones that are better at shooting.

    FORWARDS WITH BEST SHOOTING
    Carlos Tévez 86 Juventus Argentina
    Gonzalo Higuaín 84 Napoli Argentina
    Giuseppe Rossi 83 Fiorentina Italy
    Francesco Totti 83 Roma Italy
    Fabio Quagliarella 83 Torino Italy
    Mario Gomez 82 Fiorentina Germany
    Rodrigo Palacio 82 Inter Argentina
Antonio Di Natale 82 Udinese Italy
    Germán Denis 80 Atalanta Argentina
    Llorente 79 Juventus Spain
    Fernando Torres 79 Milan Spain
    Antonio Cassano 78 Parma Italy
    Michu 78 Napoli Spain
    Miroslav Klose 77 Lazio Germany
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo 77 Inter Italy

Jump, strength and stamina are the ingredients to the new physical attribute, very important when we are analysing the best forwards: jump to score with the head; strength to dispute the ball with the opponents; and stamina to sprint in direction of goal at any time of the game.

Again, Tévez is who stands out, this time with Llorente in the top of the list.

    FORWARDS WITH BEST PHYSICAL
    Llorente 85 Juventus Spain
    Carlos Tévez 84 Juventus Argentina
    Mario Gomez 79 Fiorentina Germany
Alberto Paloschi 79 Chievo Verona Italy
    Michu 76 Napoli Spain
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo 76 Inter Italy
    Cyril Théréau 75 Udinese France
    Germán Denis 74 Atalanta Argentina
    Giampaolo Pazzini 74 Milan Italy
    Gonzalo Higuaín 71 Napoli Argentina
    Alessandro Matri 71 Genoa Italy
    Fernando Torres 70 Milan Spain
    Francesco Totti 69 Roma Italy
    Mauro Icardi 69 Inter Argentina
    Fabio Quagliarella 68 Torino Italy

Depending on the style of play and formation, having good shooting and heading may not be enough for a striker. Especially in games that privilege counter-attack, pace is a very important attribute.

Giovinco and Ibarbo are the fastest strikers. They are better than Marco Sau, Maximiliano Moralez and… Carlos Tévez.

    FORWARDS WITH BEST PACE
    Sebastian Giovinco 91 Juventus Italy
    Víctor Ibarbo 91 Cagliari Colombia
    Marco Sau 89 Cagliari Italy
    Maximiliano Moralez 89 Atalanta Argentina
    Carlos Tévez 86 Juventus Argentina
    Rodrigo Palacio 85 Inter Argentina
    Giuseppe Rossi 84 Fiorentina Italy
    Gonzalo Higuaín 81 Napoli Argentina
    Fernando Torres 79 Milan Spain
    Mauro Icardi 79 Inter Argentina
    Alessandro Matri 79 Genoa Italy
Antonio Di Natale 78 Udinese Italy
    Mattia Destro 78 Roma Italy
    Morata 78 Juventus Spain
Alberto Paloschi 77 Chievo Verona Italy

Tevez is, without any discussion, the best Serie A forward. He is one of the fastest, the second with best physical and wins in another three categories: best shooting, best dribbling and best defending. Not enough for you? He is also the striker with highest stamina, something really important in a player with high/high work rate like he has.

More difficult is to choose the second best forward. Higuain is the most balanced one, but if you like to play in counter attack, the pace of Ibarbo is something you can not dismiss.

Far from these strikers quality, Rodrigo Palácio is our cheapest choice.

    Serie A Team Suggestions

A lot of people think that this is the most important part of the guide. It’s not. The thing that is really important to know is how to choose players based on their role and style of play that fits each player. The team suggestions that follow are simple graphic indicators of what we wrote previously. They should serve merely as orientation because it’s impossible to build a team that fits everyone. They depend on various factors we don’t know such as budget, formation, style of play and player preferences.

To try and explore the needs of the maximum player as possible we suggest three teams with different budgets and formations: 4-1-2-1-2 with unlimited budget, 4-3-3 with 25k budget and 4-4-2 with a 10k budget.

    • Summary
    • The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.

If there are undoubted players in this team, Handanovic is certainly one of them. It is clear his superiority.

Chiellini keeps on being the boss of the defensive foursome for all and a few more reasons. With Barzagli they are the nightmare for every forward. On the right side, Maicon is the best player, but you may pick Konko or Micah Richards depending if you want someone faster or with better defensive skills. On the left side, it’s difficult to choose between Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra. To us, what makes the difference is the great Evra’s pace, something so important in FIFA 15.

Vidal is a CM but he plays as a CDM like no one does. Not even De Rossi. This ‘box to box’ player is perfect to play behind Pogba, the most expensive Serie A player.

On the wings, pace is crucial. That’s why Gervinho and Cuadrado were chosen to these positions. Carlos Tévez is The striker but if you need someone else, you can choose between Higuain and Ibarbo, the same is to say between a football player and a sprinter.

Once all the players reach maximum individual chemistry you can go without a manager for your squad. They’ll be of no use and still spend contracts.

    • Summary
    • The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.

Handanovic, Maicon and Barzagli are cheap enough to keep the defence with three of the five players. Cáceres is a bargain and Ashley Cole is good enough to replace Evra.

For this budget, the central midfield position has to be De Rossi’s. The Italian builds up the first barrier between your goal line and the opponent, making his defensiveness and physicality count. Guarin and the surprise Mertens complete the midfield.

In the attack, the low price of Gervinho and Higuain helps them to still be in this team, while Cuadrado is replaced by the even faster Biabiany.

If you still have some room in your budget, Candreva, Marchisio and even Chiellini are players that would improve this squad a lot.

    • Summary
    • The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.

In the goal, Marchetti is a decent cheap goalkeeper.

Juan Jesus is probably the ‘bets value for money’ you will ever find in Serie A. Manolas, De Sciglio and Radu are the three other defenders. In the bench we were forced to use an extra CB due to the LB lack.

On the midfield, Muntari and Borja Valero complete each other well. The first one is a defensive midfielder, and the second is an experienced player that’s usually more advanced and is used to assisting his colleagues. Lichsteiner and Asamoah, another player that it is very cheap, fill the wings in order to assist Rodrigo Palacio and Paloschi.
