FIFA 17 April Premier League POTM Investment Tips

First of all, this POTM will be a lot tighter than the last, which really only included two realistic winners out of the six nominated. However this POTM is a lot more competitive, with four of the six nominees in with a realistic chance of winning.

Here I will run you through certain investments for each player and the chances I think they have of winning POTM.

Who Could Win It?

This month there are only two real contenders for POTM, and I have a feeling it’ll be extremely close like last month.

Heung Min Son has had a very good month with Spurs, grabbing himself 5 goals and 1 assist. Along with this, Spurs recorded a perfect 6 wins out of 6 games which was the key to their hopes of challenging for the title. As we all know, Son has already been awarded one POTM already this year, and if he was to win again for April, I do not believe that the requirements will be the same as last time. This included a full South Korean team, a Premier League team and a team with 11 nations and 1 TOTW item. However, a good investment would be some gold South Korean players which are still sitting at discard price meaning that they are no risk at all.

You could also pick up a few Heung Min Son cards as he is still 1.1k, and he not only covers the Korea squad, but also a potential Spurs squad too! Before playing for Spurs, Son also played for Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg, so if anybody has a smaller budget – think about picking up cards from Son’s previous clubs too. Some people are predicting a special Son card being required, which is possible as in Lukaku POTM, an IF Lukaku was required and also in Alli and Kante POTY their special cards were required too – however, I do think that this could be risky. Although Son is a good investment and many people think he will win POTM, he is not my most favoured choice – in my opinion, I think Benteke will win.

Personally I think that Benteke will win POTM. This is because he has scored 5 goals and got 1 assist playing for a smaller team than Son. He has also helped Crystal Palace to victories against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool – which could be key to their Premier League survival. So far this year, we have seen two Belgian players win POTM (Lukaku and Hazard.) Both of which have required Belgian IF’s in the squad requirements. Due to this, Belgian IF’s are already expensive – too expensive in fact. Try and avoid these obvious investments, they might crash in the week if all of the investors decide to sell at once.

Instead of this, there are other good investments to make such as Vertonghen (3.7k). This is a great investment due to his versatility in the investments because he not only covers Benteke (Belgian,) he also covers Son as they are both from Spurs. This investment is almost guaranteed to rise and will be needed in the requirements, as well as many other investments from Crystal Palace too such as Cabaye (2k) and Sakho (2.4k). As repeated before, a Benteke special card may be required as he has four previous informs and also an SBC card which was given during FUTmas. Benteke’s 88 IF is still relatively cheap and could be bought for about 130-135k at the right time, and although it is a slight risk it could come in as a huge success if this is required for his POTM card.

How To Prepare

Remember, look at previous and current clubs, maybe special cards from the current club IF they are cheap enough. High rated EPL cards as also good to look at, although the recent TOTW SBC’s have made this less possible to invest in. Aguero is the other contender to win this month, however I think it is unlikely he will win but you could still pick up players from his current and previous clubs like the other nominees. Also remember, if Son was to win POTM, his investments will rise more than Benteke’s because of the simple fact that Son will be much more in demand than Benteke. Son is a fan’s favourite in FIFA and is used in the majority of teams, whereas Benteke is less popular and therefore fewer people will want his card, leading to fewer people buying the cards needed in requirements. Remember, higher demand = higher rise in prices, therefore Son will cost more than Benteke to complete.

When to sell the investments

Also remember that the safest way to sell your investments is to ‘sell in the hype.’ I referred to this in my previous POTM article, but this is basically when you sell the investments with a couple of days until the release as this will reduce the risk and you are effectively selling when the lower ability traders are starting to panic buy close to the event. You could, of course, wait until the release of POTM, but this is risky and could lead to losses on your investments. On the other hand, it could also lead to huge profit. Just remember, It is your choice on whether you sell early or not.

Making Coins On The Day Of Release

This could be the most important advice. On Friday, make sure you still have some coins available to you to do some ‘live trading.’ You need to be on your console on Friday if possible to make sure you have the best chance of picking up the best deals. As soon as POTM is released, you should check the requirements and buy what is needed – but be quick, they will rise very quick so make sure you are ready. This was evident with IF Lukaku last month when he was required, as he rose from 300k to 500k very quickly!
