Pre-Order

You can pre-order FC 26 as soon as it becomes available. Pre-orders will start on July 16, 2025.
If you’ve decided to purchase a physical copy of FC 26, the process is straightforward: visit a retail store or order online, insert the disc into your console, log in to your Origin account (or create a new one), and start playing. However, if you opted for the digital version of FC 26, the steps are a bit more involved:

  1. Visit the Origin, Steam, Epic Games, or your console store, and search for ‘FC 26’.
  2. Choose one of the editions and complete the payment.
  3. Start the download if it’s available. If you pre-ordered the game, check your console’s library to find out when the pre-download becomes available. Typically, Xbox downloads are accessible several weeks in advance, while PlayStation users may need to wait until closer to the early access date. Those who installed the EA Play trial will need to download a small file to unlock the full game.
  4. Log in to your Origin account and start playing.

Make sure to double-check the account you are using before placing an order. If you share your console with others, rewards will only be assigned to the account that purchased the game, and there is no way to transfer them. It’s also crucial that the account matches the one you currently use; otherwise, you could lose your progress from previous editions, including your FC Points balance.”

Pre orders are accepted until the day before the launch date.
If you pre order the physical version, the disc will be dispatched so you receive it on the launch date. The digital version is playable at midnight on the release day.
Just like the FC 26 trial, the full game is unlocked at midnight in your console’s region. This applies to both editions. That’s why Australian players start playing FC 26 first than European players.
When you pre order FC 26, you don’t pay any extra cost. You will pay the same as you would pay if you buy it in the release date.

No. You can order the game but you won’t get the free offers.
Pre-download is available for those who pre-ordered the game. Go to your console’s library to see when it will become available. If you are buying the game after the launch date, a download is immediately available.
No. If you are an EA Play subscriber and you already downloaded the trial, all you have to do is to download a small file on the launch date (or Ultimate Team early access date) to unlock the full game.
It depends on your platform and internet connection. Most likely, it will take around one hour to download the full game. You can try some features (not Ultimate Team) before the download ends.

If you are downloading the trial, we strongly recommend waiting until the download is complete. If you play while downloading, you will be wasting part of your 10 hours limit.
You need around 100Gb of available storage space.
Yes. These offers are available for pre-orders and expire on the release date.
Icon items are an exclusive offer for those who order the Ultimate Edition before August 26, 2025 at 9pm PT for PC and on August 26, 2025 at 11:59pm at consumer local time for all other platforms.
All pre-orders come with loan player items and a career mode boost. Ultimate Edition also includes early access, FC Points, EVO slots, Season 1 Premium Pass and untradeable special items.
Except FC Points, all other offers become available on September 19 or September 26, depending on your edition.
You’ll receive your FC Points in three parts:
  • The first as soon as you log into Ultimate Team
  • The second by the end of the next month
  • The final one by the end of the following month

Prices vary depending on factors such as platform, region, and store. As a reference, the regular price for consoles is €109.99, $99.99, £99.99 (Ultimate Edition) and €79.99, $69.99, £69.99 (Standard Edition).
No, for the majority of countries, prices remain the same compared to FC 25.
If you don’t want to buy FC 26 on its launch date because of its high price, the best thing to do is to wait until Black Friday or the Holiday season.
FC 26 prices during Black Friday usually drop up to 50%.
Football Club is not available for free, so you will need to purchase it unless you are an EA Play Pro subscriber. FC 26 may become accessible on EA Play, Steam, and other platforms towards the end of its annual cycle.

Early Access

Ultimate Edition is available from September 19 at midnight. If you want to buy it, you will need to pre-order it and do it before the official release date.

The Webstart is scheduled to nine days before the official launch. However, only returning users have access to this early access. The other ones have to wait until the game release date.
As long as you meet the requirements, all you have to do is to access the Web App website or update the app you have installed on your mobile device. Note that you’ll need to start on the web app before you can use the mobile app.
No. If you played Ultimate Team in FC 25, the Web App early access will be unlocked to you. However, you will need to log in on your console or PC at least once before December 31 to continue using both apps.
There are several ways to add FC Points to your Web App wallet during the early access: clicking on the top right green icon; adding them using the console/PC, or claiming a console code.
Login Verification is a mandatory step before you can access the FC 26 Web/Companion App. If you never activated it, just go to your Origin account and enable it. Then, just confirm that was sent to you. As simple as that.
You need to subscribe to one of the EA Play plans and download the trial from the console’s store.
A yearly subscription costs £19.99/€24.99/$29.99, while the price of a monthly subscription is £3.99/€3.99/$4.99. However, if you only want a subscription for the month in which the FC 26 trial is active, the price will be as low as one dollar. Payment will be automatically renewed every month or year depending on what membership duration you choose.
EA Play subscribers enjoy free and immediate access to ‘The Play List,’ with the condition that they maintain their subscription. They can also download and play a variety of EA games, including FC 26, before the official release. The program offers additional benefits like discounts and in-game rewards.
FC 26 EA Play early access will be unlocked on September 19, 2025, at around midnight UK time. The windows pre-load time depends on the platform. To play the early access, subscribers just need to go to the store, search by ‘Football Club 26’, select your edition and press ‘Trial’. PC, Steam, and Epic Games players can also do it through the EA Play Hub App.
When using EA Play trials, players get a taste of the full game for a limited time before its official release. If they decide to buy FC 25 upon its release, they can seamlessly continue from where they left off – their progress and statistics will transfer. Any saved games and earned achievements/trophies during the Early Access period will become available as soon as they purchase and log into the EA Servers with the final version of the game.
If you seek unrestricted early access to the game, the Pro Plan subscription is the optimal choice. This plan grants you access to the full game as long as your subscription remains active, even if you haven’t purchased it separately. However, it’s important to highlight that this option is available exclusively on the PC-Windows platform.

For users with two consoles from different generations, a single EA Play subscription allows for up to 20 hours of gameplay. You can easily download the trial for both consoles using the same account.
Participation in the closed beta is by invitation only. While we can’t promise you an invitation, you can enhance your chances of being selected by ensuring your contact preferences and game tester program information are up to date.
FC 26 Beta is expected in mid-August and will last for around 3 weeks. Usually, EA sends two batches of codes: the first on the second week of August and the other one two weeks later.
Each invitation includes access to the Kick-Off mode and Clubs, Manager/Player Career, and Ultimate Team. All these game modes are unlocked in the last few days.
To be eligible for selection, players must be at least 18 years old and have a console account registered in the UK or North America. They should own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S console, maintain an internet connection, and have an active subscription to either Xbox Live or PS Plus, depending on their chosen platform. Additionally, players are more likely to be selected if they have a consistent history of regular play in FC 25
When players accept the invitation, they are required to comply with the terms of the closed beta agreement, which includes a confidentiality clause. This clause prohibits participants from sharing any information about the game outside of the dedicated forum. Live streaming and capturing images of closed beta gameplay are strictly prohibited.
Assuming you have received an invitation with a code, all you need to do is to go to your console’s store and use that code to start the download: ‘redeem codes’ for PlayStation; or ‘use code’ for Xbox.
To become a playtester, you should register for the EA playtesting program, apply for a particular session, and await an invitation. You can find comprehensive instructions in our step-by-step guide provided above

Selected players will receive an email one week before the session. In the case of FC 26, playtests occur from May to July.

EA is seeking players of diverse skill levels, genders, experiences, and backgrounds. You don’t need to be a pro or even a frequent gamer; they value input from all.
Yes. Remote playtests are also available, so you can participate from the comfort of your own home.
If you are selected for a Playtest but can no longer attend, simply reply to the selection email with the date and time of your Playtest.

Beta

Video game developers make games in a series of distinct stages, often called something like alpha, beta, and release. You might also see terms like “limited regional launches” and “playtests” depending on the game.

In the beta stage of game development, the game is functional and playable with most of the content, features, and game modes. The beta version might include one or two playable characters, a demo mission, and some online multiplayer experiences.

Developers use betas to collect player feedback, fix bugs, and improve connectivity before a game is officially released. There are two types of beta tests.

  • Closed Betas
     restricted beta test you have to be selected to join.
  • Open Betas
     a beta test anyone can join.
It goes out on August 6 and lasts for around three weeks. Nintendo Switch 2 players will start on August 8, 2025.
You need to be invited and download the game.
If you’re selected to take part in a closed beta, you’ll get an email with a beta code. 

A beta code is a string of letters and numbers that acts as your key to accessing most closed beta tests. Learn more about redeeming your beta code for your chosen platform.
You can only play the game modes that are unlocked to you. Still, even if you haven’t been selected to test UT, you will have a chance to try it in the last week when all game modes are released for everyone (from August 19).
If you’re invited to the Beta, you are most likely assigned to game modes that align with the ones you play the most. However, this isn’t guaranteed, as some players may receive access to modes they don’t typically engage with.
If the only thing you see when entering the Beta is the ‘News’ tab, you’re not alone. This issue affects thousands of players and unfortunately has no known fix. For some, the problem resolves by receiving an invite from another Beta tester or by resetting internet settings. However, most players are unable to access the Beta experience.
It’s only available in English. That’s one of the reasons why only players from countries in which English is the native language are invited more often.
The file you have to download is 58 Gb, no matter the game modes for which you have been selected.
No. Generally speaking, the players and ratings used in the FC 25 Closed Beta are the ones from FC 25. Even if you find differences, it doesn’t mean that those ratings will be used on the final game release.
No progress made on the FC 26 Beta carries over to the final game. As soon as the final version is released, everything is reset.
For players, the Beta is their first hands-on with the upcoming title, but for EA, its significance extends far beyond early gameplay access. FC 26 represents a complex assembly of numerous game modes, some developed over many years. Individual teams manage different parts of the game, deciding what will make it into the final product based on various factors like deadlines and overall quality. This sometimes means that certain teams aren’t solely focused on the next release.

To ensure the game runs smoothly, a thorough testing process is vital. EA generally recruits volunteers for initial playtesting, gathering feedback to fine-tune the game. After addressing this input, they release the Alpha version. The full game is typically launched by the end of September, with a follow-up update to fix issues that may have been discovered post-production. In the midst of these stages, the Beta phase allows further refinement before the official release.
To receive a code, you need to have been selected. Pay attention to your mailbox to see if you were invited. Only selected players can play the Beta.
Only players who were invited will be able to play the FC26 Beta. EA will send two batches of codes: the first on the second week of August, right before the Beta release date, and the other one two weeks later. Usually, it is available to preload for beta testers 24 hours before the opening date.
Follow these simple steps:

Update Your Contact Preferences
This will inform EA that you are available to receive emails from them and eventually the FC 26 Beta invitation

  1. Go to the EA website;
  2. Click in the top-right avatar icon and login into your account;
  3. Click in the avatar again and select [Account Settings];
  4. Go to [Communication Preferences] and turn On ‘Email me about EA’s products, news, events, and promotions’;
  5. Confirm that ‘FC 25’ and ‘EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team’ are both checked on the [Favorite Games] box (if you can’t see them, click in [Add More]);
  6. Check your [Preferred Platforms];
  7. Click on the [Save] button at the bottom of the page.
The Frequency dropdown menu is used to set the frequency of emails you’d like to receive from us.

Under Favorite Games, you can choose the games you want to hear about, then select [Save] to confirm your choices. That way you’ll only get beta information about the games you want to play.

You can also set your Preferred Platforms and then select [Save] to confirm your choices. Make sure to choose the platforms you play on. If you choose the wrong platform, you might get a beta code for a platform you don’t play on, meaning you won’t be able to join the beta test.
There isn’t much more you can do to improve your chances of getting selected for the FC Beta. Living near EA offices, playing thousands of FC 25 matches, or even being a professional player won’t increase your odds. Game advisors are unable to grant or send invites if you didn’t already receive one.

While updating your contact preferences may help slightly, it doesn’t guarantee you’ll be invited. Keep in mind that the selection process is primarily random.

  1. Select the PlayStation Store icon from the home screen;
  2. Select [More] and then [Redeem Code];
  3. Select [Account Settings];
  4. Enter the 12-character code and start the download.
Xbox
  1. Go to [Games] under [Store];
  2. Select [More] and then [Redeem Code];
  3. Select [Use a Code] and sign in if prompted;
  4. Enter the 25-character code and start the download.
Nintendo Switch
  1. Go to ec.nintendo.com/redeem in a web browser;
  2. Sign in with your Nintendo Account;
  3. Enter your 16-character download code and click [Next];
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
PC (EA app)
  1. Open the EA app and sign in to your EA Account;
  2. Click the [Menu] icon (≡) in the top left corner;
  3. Select [Redeem Code];
  4. Enter your product code and click [Next] to confirm.
You must receive a direct invitation to participate in the FC 26 Beta. These invitations are not available for purchase, transfer, or exchange between players. Each Beta code is generated specifically for a player and is tied to their Origin account. If you encounter offers to buy Beta invitations, be cautious, as these are not legitimate. All Beta invitations are non-transferable and cannot be used with other accounts or players.
Keep a close watch on the email associated with your EA account to see if you’ve received an invitation. Ensure you check all folders, including spam. If your email has changed, update your account details to receive notifications.

EA sends all Beta-related emails from [email protected], so it’s wise to mark this as a safe sender. Additionally, be sure to check your spam, junk, or social folders for any communication from [email protected]. Always be cautious with messages from unknown senders and never share your login details with anyone.
When players accept the invitation to the FC 26 Beta, they must comply with the terms of the closed beta agreement. This agreement includes a confidentiality clause that prohibits participants from sharing any information about the game outside the designated forum created specifically for feedback. Additionally, the rules strictly forbid live streaming, capturing, or sharing any images or videos of the closed beta gameplay. Violating these rules can result in penalties or being removed from the beta.
If you violate the confidentiality terms of the beta, you’ll lose access not only to the current beta but also to any future ones. More severe cases of breach may result in stricter actions, such as copyright claims or permanent bans from participating in the game’s services. It’s crucial to adhere to the rules to maintain access and avoid potential penalties.

Trial

The FC 26 trial is a version exclusively for EA Play members, limited to 10 hours, and released seven days before the official launch.
EA Play is a paid subscription program that gives access to the following offers:
  • Early access to a selection of EA games;
  • Free unlimited access to a selection of games;
  • 10% discount on EA digital purchases;
  • Access to exclusive in-game rewards.
It’s a former name for EA Play. Other services had similar offers but different names:
  • Season Ticker (2011-2015);
  • EA Access (2015-2020);
  • EA Play (2021-).
EA Play subscribers enjoy free, instant access at any time to a curated selection of games known as ‘The Play List,’ as long as their subscription remains active. This collection features the latest EA titles, along with third-party games, downloadable content (DLCs), and expansion packs.
The Play List is an expanding collection of EA’s top games for consoles and PC, available for download and play as long as you have an active EA Play membership. While some titles can be played offline, occasional reconnection to EA is necessary to confirm your active membership status. These games are directly downloaded to your system to ensure optimal performance and can remain accessible as long as your EA Play membership remains active.
EA Play subscribers enjoy a 10% discount on all EA digital content, which includes full games, season passes, DLC, as well as sales and promotions. This discount extends to digital FC 26 and FC Points, providing EA Play members (both Basic and Pro plans) with cost savings on these offerings.

You don’t need to take any action. Your new Ultimate Team rewards will be waiting for you in your UT store every month, as long as you are using the account linked to your EA Play and Origin.

In our opinion, if you’re a fan of EA games, subscribing to EA Play is a great choice.   • Log in to the Microsoft account linked with your Xbox;

  • Select the button labeled [Manage];

To cancel EA Play on your Origin follow these steps:
  • Use a browser or the Origin application to log in to your Steam account;
  • From the navigation bar select [EA Account and Billing];
  • Choose [EA Play];
  • Click in ‘Cancel my Membership’.
To cancel EA Play on your Steam follow these steps:
  • Use a browser or the Steam application to log in to your Steam account;
  • Navigate to the [Recurring Subscriptions] menu and go to ‘EA Play’;
  • Choose [Cancel my Subscription]
  • Confirm your choice by clicking [Apply].
If you decide to cancel your membership, you can continue to enjoy games from The Play List, take advantage of discounts, and participate in any ongoing Play First Trials until your subscription expires. However, keep in mind that there are no refunds for the monthly or annual fees, regardless of when you cancel. After cancellation, any games or content purchased with your membership discount will remain available to you, but you will lose access to The Play List. If you acquired downloadable content (DLC) for a free game, you’ll need to purchase the base game separately or renew your membership to regain access to that DLC.
For the EA Play Basic plan:
  • FC 26 trial will remain available until your membership expires or the game goes out;
  • FC 26 full game will be yours as long as you buy it;
  • FC 26 free to play will remain live while you have an active subscription.
For the EA Play Pro plan:
  • FC 26 trial is not available for Pro since you have access to the full game;
  • FC 26 full game will be yours as long as you have an active subscription.;
  • FC 26 free to play will remain live while you have an active subscription.
EA Play has two tiers of membership:

  • Basic ($4.99/month, or $29.99/year)
    available for all platforms
  • Pro ($14.99/month, or $99.99/year)
    Only available for Origin.
EA Play Pro subscribers gain complimentary and immediate access to the Ultimate Edition of FC 26 starting from the early access launch. They are not required to purchase the game because this version is already the final edition without any restrictions (there is no timer in the Pro plan). It will remain accessible as long as they maintain an active subscription.

The membership is linked to the Gamertag/PSN ID, enabling players to utilize their account on any console where they’ve logged in. If you’d prefer to limit matches to players from your own platform, set your local cross-play setting to ‘Disabled’ and ensure you’re the first to enter your Clubs match lobby. This setting will remain active until all players have exited the lobby.

Cross-play will be available for all match types in Clubs, including League, Playoff, Friendly, and Drop-In.
There are two ways to enable the crossplay feature:
  • From the bottom right hand corner widget;
  • From the matchmaking options settings screen
    (customise> online settings > matchmaking options > online settings)
If you’ve already met them in-game, search for their name as usual. If you know them from playing other games, search for them in-game using:

The first time you log in with the same account, the system recognizes you and you’ll see a pop-up that gives you the option to transfer your FC Points:

‘We’ve noticed you have an outstanding FC Points balance in FC 25. Would you like to transfer and convert it to FC Points in FC 26? Please note, this transfer is not reversible. Once you have transferred your Points balance you will only be able to access it within EAS FC 26. This is a one-time only transfer, you will not be able to transfer any more Points after this.’

You can accept it or delay that operation. This pop-up will give you the following options:
  • Yes, I want to transfer and convert my entire Points balance from FC 25 to FC 26.
  • No, please leave my FC 25 Points balance untouched.
  • I am not sure at this point, please prompt me again later.
From the moment you perform this transfer, you no longer will receive this message again and FC Points purchased in FC 25 will not be transferred to FC 26 Ultimate Team anymore.
You can transfer your FC Points from FC 25 to FC 26 using a one-time transfer option available until December 31, 2025. The earliest opportunity to transfer your FC Points is during the EA Play trial or when you first log in to FC 26 after acquiring the full game. Please note that it is not possible to transfer FC Points via the Web and Companion Apps

Ambassadors

An Ambassador is a very popular player used by EA to promote their game. Ambassadors’ images feature on UT pack covers, game mode screens, FC marketing campaigns and eventually on the FC cover.

Usually, each FIFA/FC features from 3 to 16 ambassadors, but in FC 26 it has less athletes.
The first ambassadors are announced in mid-July when the new title is revealed.
A special package is crafted as a gift to FC 26 ambassadors and influencers. They receive this gift one week before the game release as a thank you and appreciation for their dedication and passion. Each case contains a PlayStation console with the FC pre-installed game and an Ultimate Team Kit.
These are the main three:

  • Ambassadors
    Players who were chosen to promote the game on UT pack covers, game mode screens and FC marketing campaigns. At least one of these players features on the cover.

  • Talents
    Other players can also promote the game in their social networks or other types of partnerships but don’t represent the game by itself.

  • Influencers
    Soundtrack artists or social network stars with who EA celebrates a partnership to use their image to promote the game.
It wass one of the offers for pre-orders. You received a player pick with six selections, and you had to pick one. Each selection was a FC 26 Ambassador loan item (10 matches).
