FC 27 SHOOTING
Learn how to shoot in Football Club 27.
Shooting
Shooting is one of the most important skills in Football Club 27, as converting chances consistently can decide the outcome of a match. Learning when to use a regular shot, Finesse Shot, Chip Shot, Power Shot or another finishing technique allows you to respond effectively to different positions and goalkeeper movements.
To take a basic shot in FC 27:
- Press the Shot button, Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox;
- Use the Left Stick to aim towards the desired part of the goal;
- Release the Shot button after applying the appropriate amount of power.
Direction, power, body position, pressure from defenders, the player’s preferred foot and Shooting Attributes all influence the result. The selected shooting assistance setting and relevant PlayStyles can also affect how accurately the attempt follows your input.
FC 27 gives core Attributes greater influence over several finishing techniques. The effectiveness, spin and animation speed of Finesse Shots now scale more consistently with the player taking the shot. Low Driven Shot velocity is also determined by Shooting Attributes and input power, while the Low Driven PlayStyle and PlayStyle+ continue to provide an accuracy benefit.
To improve your finishing, practise each technique from different distances, angles and gameplay situations. Selecting the correct shot is usually more important than repeatedly using the same type of finish.
Shooting Types
FC 27 offers several shooting techniques, each designed for a different situation. Learning their strengths and limitations will help you select the most effective finish.
Finesse Shot
A Finesse Shot prioritises placement and curl rather than raw power. It is particularly effective when shooting across the goalkeeper or attempting to bend the ball around a defender. In FC 27, the player’s Shooting Attributes have a greater influence on spin, animation speed and effectiveness from difficult angles, reducing the performance gap between players with and without the Finesse Shot PlayStyle.
Chip Shot
A Chip Shot lifts the ball over the goalkeeper and is most effective when the keeper moves away from the goal line. Apply only as much power as necessary, as an underpowered attempt may be collected while excessive power can send the ball over the crossbar. Timing and awareness of the goalkeeper’s position are essential.
Flair Shot
A Flair Shot allows players to attempt more creative finishing animations when the situation permits, including backheels, scissor kicks and other acrobatic efforts. The animation selected depends on the player’s position relative to the ball. These attempts can surprise the goalkeeper but are generally less reliable than a conventional finish.
Power Shot
A Power Shot is a manually aimed strike with a longer preparation animation. It can produce an extremely powerful attempt, but the additional preparation gives defenders more time to block it. Create sufficient space, aim carefully and avoid using excessive power when shooting from closer positions.
Low Driven Shot
A Low Driven Shot keeps the ball closer to the ground and can be effective when aiming towards the bottom corners. It is produced by using a lower powered Shot input. In FC 27, its velocity depends on the player’s core Shooting Attributes and the power applied. The Low Driven PlayStyle and PlayStyle+ improve accuracy but no longer provide an additional shot speed boost.
Fake Shot
A Fake Shot is not an attempt at goal. It cancels the shooting action before contact with the ball, allowing the attacker to change direction or deceive a defender or goalkeeper. Combining the input with a direction can help create space for a genuine shot, pass or dribble.
