The Grounds
The Grounds is a new social football experience introduced in EA Sports FC 27. It combines an explorable shared environment with street football, competitive matches, character progression and the complete Clubs experience.
Instead of navigating exclusively through traditional menus, you enter a football playground where the streets meet the stadium. From this central hub, you can control your Avatar, meet other players, access different activities and move between casual and competitive football experiences.
You can take part in Kickabouts, compete against another player in 1v1 matches, team up with friends in Clubs, connect with renowned Football Mentors and improve your abilities as you progress.
The Grounds also expands how players express themselves away from matches. Clothing, accessories, celebrations and other Vanity items allow every Avatar to develop a recognisable identity throughout the FC 27 cycle.

How The Grounds Works
The Grounds acts as the central home for Clubs in FC 27. Instead of accessing every activity through traditional menus, you control your Avatar and explore a shared football environment containing social areas, courts, pitches and competition entrances.
Each location (Parkside District, Montclair District, and Zeiza District) provides access to different experiences. You can enter a casual match, challenge another player, meet friends or prepare for organised Clubs competition while maintaining the same Avatar and visual identity.
The basic process works as follows:
- Create or import your Avatar;
- Enter The Grounds social hub;
- Explore the available locations and activity areas;
- Join a Kickabout, challenge another player or enter Clubs;
- Complete matches and activities to earn AXP;
- Develop your Archetype and improve your abilities;
- Unlock new gameplay and customisation content.
Activities
The Grounds offers several ways to play football, from short individual contests to organised team matches.
Kickabouts are informal matches played on smaller pitches. They provide quick sessions where you can play with friends or other users without assembling a complete Clubs team.
1v1 matches place two Avatars against each other in reduced playing areas. These contests focus on close control, defending and individual skill.
Clubs remains the main cooperative experience, with each player controlling their own Avatar. Club members can meet inside The Grounds, form a squad and enter competitive matches together.
You can also find Football Mentors around the world. These renowned football personalities, like Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter, offer activities and challenges connected to their playing identities, helping you improve while unlocking additional content.
