Introduction to the FUT 15 Bundesliga Guide
Building a team is the biggest challenge on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. It doesn’t need to be the best team, because your budget may not allow it, but it is player’s stature that helps him obtain success.
When choosing which players to play with, you will have to look carefully at their attributes. Choosing a team based on ratings is one of the most common mistakes on FUT 15. It’s precisely this aspect that this guide focuses on. For each position, and focusing on the truly important attributes, we’ll show you who are the best athletes to choose.
It’s also important that you check to see if the player you choose fits the formations you like to play in. For example, a good full back will be useless if you only use a formation with three defenders. According to these formations, you must be cautious and look at the work rate. Try to relate them with the ones we advise in our Formations Guide.
Last but not least, it’s mandatory that you tune all of your team so that the individual and team chemistry will be as high possible. For this last step to be easier, the majority of the players start to define the type of team they’re building. Some choose to gather players of the same nationality, while others decide to form a team of players from the same league. The most popular is the Barclays Premier League. There are also more experienced players that can form hybrid squads without damaging team chemistry a lot.
All of these steps are necessary to have; or it could mean that the team is not always well built as it could be. This article aims to help those that want to form a FIFA 15 Ultimate Team based on players from the Bundesliga. Even the players that have a Bundesliga team, could take out some valuable conclusions from this guide that could help them make their team even better.
We received thousands of comments about similar guides that we have published in previous years. Most of them have asked us to help improve their teams and the players they had. It’s important that the readers understand that this guide is simply guidance. It’s a theme too vast and the player combinations are almost infinite. Besides, there are various factors that influence the choices, like one’s style of play, the formations used, the available budget, the preferences or even the time spent playing. There’s still one uncertain component: a good player for someone might not be for another. If there was a better team everyone would fight to get it. Part of the fun of FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is this: everyone has their personal club and players.
Another important point and that must stay very clear is that whoever is reading this guide, it’s about the criteria we chose and should be of everyone’s knowledge:
- In this guide we didn’t consider silver or bronze players. Most players don’t assume them to be a better option than gold players, so to simplify the guide’s analysis we didn’t include them. In the future we may come to publish guides exclusively talking about these categories.
- In this guide we didn’t consider In Forms (IF). They’re extremely expensive and in most cases are not considered good value for money. They should only be used by players with generous budgets, that already have the best team possible and that want small upgrades.
- In this guide we didn’t consider players that have been transferred to other clubs or that have been reviewed (UP). Only players that started their season in the Bundesliga and with their original attributes were considered.
- In this guide we didn’t consider changes made on a players performance such happens when applying training or chemistry styles cards.
- To make the comprehension of this guide easier we divided the players in nine distinct groups in order of their original position: Goalkeeper (GK), central backs (CB), right backs (RB and RWB), left backs (LB and LWB), central defensive midfielders (CDM) central midfielders (CM and CAM), right midfielders (RM, RW and RF), left midfielders (LM, LW and LF) and forwards (CF and ST).
- In the chapter where FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Bundesiga teams are suggested, the prices considered are the ones of the date of the guide’s publication: December 2014. It’s natural that the prices have suffered some peaks and troughs throughout the season, so they should only be considered as guiding prices.
Bundesliga
The Bundesliga lives in the shadow of Barclays PL and BBVA but the truth is that it has many quality players.
The qualification of the champion is made through the made points system. Whichever team gathers the most points wins the league. The first four classified gain access to the champions league of the next year, while the fifth and sixth qualify to the Europa League and the last three trade places with the first two qualified of the 2. Bundesliga and with the play-off winner. Every season starts in August and finishes in May, having 34 game weeks with nine matches each, being a total of 306 matches per season.
The Bundesliga is the most watched sports league in the world and the third best league classified in the UEFA league coefficients.
Started in 1962, the Bundesliga has been conquered by twelve clubs. The dominant club is Bayern Munich, with a total of 23 titles. Borussia Dortmund (5), Borussia Mönchengladbach (5), Werder Bremen (4), Hamburger SV (3), VfB Stuttgart (3), FC Köln (2) and FC Kaiserslautern (2) were the other teams that won more than once.
As to last season, the Bundesliga lost some good players such as Andres Guardado (Bayer 04 – Valencia), Toni Kroos (FC Bayern – Real Madrid), Mario Mandzukic (FC Bayern – Atlético de Madrid) e Marc-André ter Stegen (Bor. M’ Gladbach – Barcelona).
These transfers didn’t necessarily make the Bundesliga weaker. The Germans teams spent millions of Euros on strong reinforcements: Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid – FC Bayern), Shinji Kagawa (Manchester United – Borussia Dortmund), Ciro Immobile (Torino – Borussia Dortmund) and Valon Behrami (Napoli – Hamburger SV). But the biggest signings of the season happened in Munich. Mehdi Benatia came from Rome to join to Bundesligaby 25 million Euros.
The choices are a lot for which our guide will certainly be useful as to building a team with players from this league. Bundesliga is a good choice to who is looking for quality players, but doesn’t want to spend so much coins as happens in BPL and BBVA based squads.

FUT 15 Bundesliga Goalkeepers (GK)
Goalkeepers are the players that are used least on the field. Because of this they are also first ignored when building a team. Most players start their purchases with a forward, later they strengthen the midfield the defence and only later the goal. The truth is a good goalkeeper may be worth a lot of goals. They are a good investment because they are normally the most economically accessible players.
Manuel Neuer is the most popular one. He is finalist to the Golden Ball 2014, World Champion, Bundesliga Champion, German Cup Winner and the favourite goalkeeper in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. That’s why he is so expensive. Roman Weidenfeller, René Adler and the young Bernd Leno are also popular.

When choosing a good goalkeeper it’s not only down to his rating. There are two fundamental attributes for choosing a good goalkeeper: reflexes and diving.
The first measures a goalkeeper’s agility when making a save. The best on this aspect is Manuel Neuer.

Diego Benaglio | 83 | VfL Wolfsburg | Switzerland |
Diving is a fundamental attribute when choosing a goalkeeper. It measures the capacity for a goalkeeper to make a save when jumping.
Manuel Neuer is also the best one with this attribute.

The most experienced Ultimate Team players know that another leaning factor on a goalkeeper’s performance without considering the remaining four attributes: height. The more tall a goalkeeper is, better his chances of having a clean sheet.
Ralf Fährmann is the tallest one. He is taller than other more popular goalkeepers like Manuel Neuer and René Adler.

Ralf Fährmann | 196 | FC Schalke 04 | Germany |
Diego Benaglio | 194 | VfL Wolfsburg | Switzerland |

Bernd Leno | 190 | Bayer 04 | Germany |
Kevin Trapp | 189 | Eint. Frankfurt | Germany |
Roman Weidenfeller | 188 | Borussia Dortmund | Germany |
The choice for the best Bundesliga goalkeeper on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is really easy.
Besides being the best in the two most important attributes, Manuel Neuer is also the goalkeeper with better positioning and kicking. Only two Legends are better than him.
For us, René Adler is the number two because he have good stats in reflexes and diving. Diego Benaglio is tall enough and has balanced stats to be our economic choice.

FUT 15 Bundesliga Centre Backs (CB)
A goalkeepers task is made easier if in front of him are quality centre backs. Their function is to stop the opponent from getting dangerously close to your team’s goal.
Jérôme Boateng, Javi Martinez, Mehdi Benatia, Mats Hummels and Sokratis are the centre backs with the best reputation in the Bundesliga.

Carlos Zambrano | 77 | Eint. Frankfurt | Peru |
With a centre back, two attributes assume particular importance on their performance: defending and the new attribute physical, which represents strength, stamina, aggression and jumping.
A player with better defending will have an easier chance of dispossessing the opponent and avoid him reaching your box.
It’s the case of Benatia and Hummels. Only Thiago Silva is better than them.

The new physical attribute shows the old heading capability but also how likely the players are to win game with their body. This is a crucial attribute when looking for the best centre back.
In this chapter Javi Martinez, that now is a centre back, is the strongest one.

Defending and heading may be useless against fast opponents. It’s necessary to fight fire with fire. No one likes feeling impotent when seeing you get overrun by extremely fast players. Even though, in a way, centre backs aren’t that fast, every team needs one of these players with a high pace attribute.
Felipe Santana is the fastest in Bundesliga.

Tony Jantschke | 72 | Bor. M’ Gladbach | Germany |
Neven Subótic | 71 | Borussia Dortmund | Serbia |
Fabian | 69 | Hertha BSC | Switzerland |
Robin Knoche | 68 | VfL Wolfsburg | Germany |
The centre back choice for your defensive system shouldn’t be thought out only according to the attributes highlighted above. Your formation is more than relevant, because if you choose to play with three centre backs it’s recommended that you have at least two with reasonable pace. In case you choose the ordinary two centre backs plus one right and one left back, the team composition mind changes.
Our choice is Mehdi Benatia, because he is fast, has the best defending and good physical. Our second choice is Jérôme Boateng thans to his balanced stats. Hummels is also a great player but he is much slower than these players. Sokaris is our economic choice. He is fast, cheap and has good stats.

FUT 15 Bundesliga Right Backs (RB and RWB)
Full backs have the role of troubling the job of wingers. In addition, good full backs also support their team mates on offensive manoeuvres.
Piszczek is the most popular right back playing in Bundesliga.

Patrick Ochs | 75 | VfL Wolfsburg | Germany |
Sascha Riether | 75 | SC Freiburg | Germany |
Capacidade defensiva e velocidade são os atributos consideráveis para esses jogadores. Łukasz Piszczek é ímpar nesse aspecto.
There are very important attributes for any right back: defending and pace.
Since they’re defenders they should have good defending capacities. This reduces a team’s risk of conceding.
In Bundesliga, no one can be compared to Łukasz Piszczek.

A flanked game tends to be faster than a game based in the middle of the field. The players that fill these spaces are obligated to be fast, both penetrating defensive and attacking moves of the team. Pace is one of the most important requirements for a good full back.
Łukasz Piszczek is again the best one but Kevin Großkreutz is also good.

Best FUT 15 Bundesliga Left Backs (LB e LWB)
Left backs have exactly the same role of their team mates on the other flank. In other words, they try to make a winger’s job hard and participate in the team’s offensive manoeuvres.
David Alaba is the big name for this position. Ricardo Rodriguez and Marcel Schmelzer are also used by many Ultimate Team fans.

David Alaba is, in our opinion, the best left back playing in Bundesliga. He is one of the best left backs of FIFA 15, and that’s why he is widely used in hybrids squads. Our second choice is Marcell Jansen and Marcel Schmelzer is our economic choice.

Best FUT 15 Bundesliga Central Defensive Midfielder (CDM)
The players of this position have the responsibility of being the first ones to prevent the opponent from making it to the attack. For some people, though, modern football requires players that will both attack and defend with quality.
Philipp Lahm is the biggest new in this position, now that he has changed from RB to CDM. Xabi Alonso is also a new CDM of this league, joining to other popular players like Luiz Gustavo, Sven Bender and Valon Behrami.

The area of the field occupied by the central defensive midfielders is the one where most ball disputes happen. Strong players will have a higher probability of winning the ball.
Stefan Reinartz is the best on this side. Philipp Lahm, however, is quite the disappointment. He is the worst between all gold players.

Sven Bender is our choice for this position. He isn’t the best in any of the most important stats, but he has a great balance between them. His stamina is really amazing and his interception, marking and tackling make the difference. The alternative is Luiz Gustavo but Valon Behrami is also good if you don’t have many coins.

Xherdan Shaqiri is our economic choice.

It isn’t easy to choose the best Bundesliga left back. The choice has to be made between Franck Ribéry and Marco Reus. The Bayern’s player is better in two of the three most important attributes for this position, but Reus has a much better shooting and he costs half of the Ribéry price. For limited budgets, Julian Draxler is also an interesting player but or economic choice goes for Ivan Perišić.

Many people choose their striker first when building a squad. They’re usually our number 9, often the ones who will decide the match.
Robert Lewandowski, Ciro Immobile and Adrián Ramos are the most popular among the Ultimate Team community.

Three attributes must be analysed before you choose your top scorer: shooting, physicality and pace. Since most finishes will be shots, shooting is the most important one.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has the best shooting but Robert Lewandowski and Stefan Kießling are also good.

Jumping, strength and resistance have as result the player’s physicality attribute. Jumping for air balls is a great alternative if the regular ground plays aren’t working; strength to win challenges against the defenders and resistance to keep sprinting towards the goal.
The young striker Lasogga stands out on this new attribute.

Bundesliga Team Suggestions
A lot of people think that this is the most important part of the guide. It’s not. The thing that is really important to know is how to choose players based on their role and style of play that fits each player. The team suggestions that follow are simple graphic indicators of what we wrote previously. They should serve merely as orientation because it’s impossible to build a team that fits everyone. They depend on various factors we don’t know such as budget, formation, style of play and player preferences.
To try and explore the needs of the maximum player as possible we suggest three teams with different budgets and formations: 4-1-2-1-2 with unlimited budget, 4-3-3 with medium budget and 4-4-2 with a low budget.

- Summary
The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.
If there are undoubted players in this team, Neuer is certainly one of them. It is clear his superiority.
Medhi Benatia is probably the biggest surprise in the defence. Like his team mate Jérôme Boateng, Benatia is fast and has great defensive and physical stats. David Alaba and Łukasz Piszczek are easy choices for fullbacks. No one can be compared to them. You should pay attention to the work rates of the defenders because only Jérôme Boateng doesn’t have high attacking work rate.
Schweinsteiger is not a natural CDM and there are other players, like Sven Bender, with better attributes for this position. However, he is a good choice because he can help the defence but also the attack. Mario Götze is better than the versatile İlkay Gündoğan to fill the other position of the midfield.
The wings of this squad are levelled with the best in the world. The quality of their pace, passing, dribbling and shooting are extremely effective to give amplitude to the game.
If about Lewandowski it isn’t needed to say anything, about Ciro Immobile it may be a bit different. He got this position because he is a really good finisher and has very balanced stats.

- Summary
The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.
The best players are expensive and for that reason there are many changes in this team. However, it is still a quality team.
In the goal, René Adle is a great value for money. The centre backs have good defensive and physical stats, while the fullbacks are very balanced players.
It’s amazing how it is possible to make a high quality midfield with just a few coins. Bender gives security to the defence, while the other two players support the attack.
Muller and Draxler are good investments to the wings. They are perfect to assist Ciro Immobile, the only players that is also in the unlimited budget team. His team mate Adrián Ramos is faster and is also a good choice.

- Summary
The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.
Since they are really cheap, the five defenders substitutes of the medium budget team are also in the low budget team.
The midfield is filled with very strong players and the wingers have a great price for what they have to offer to the team.
Adrián Ramos is perfect to the attack, as well as Stefan Kießling. If you have more coins, you can also use Ciro Immobile.
