The FC 25 Squad Rating is a score that reflects the overall quality of a team in Ultimate Team.
Team Rating and Star Rating
The FC 25 Squad Rating is a quality evaluation system designed to compare the overall strength of different squads. This system measures how good a team is expected to be by taking into account the individual ratings of each player in the starting eleven and subs.
These ratings are combined to give an overall Squad Rating, which serves as an indicator of the team’s potential performance on the pitch. However, it’s important to note that this rating can be somewhat subjective. A player with a high rating might not always be the best fit for a particular playstyle or strategy, meaning that the highest-rated team is not always the most effective one in actual gameplay.
In FC 25, the Squad Rating can range from 0 (the lowest) to 99 (the highest). This rating is prominently displayed in the top left corner of the active squad menu, providing an immediate reference for the quality of your team.
To accurately check the team rating of your squad, you should use your console, companion app, or web app. These platforms provide the most reliable calculations. It’s advisable not to depend on third-party squad builders like FUTBin or FUTWiz, as their methods for calculating the Squad Rating may not always be accurate, potentially leading to discrepancies.
Understanding your Squad Rating helps you make better decisions when building and optimizing your team for various competitions and challenges in Football Club 25.
Besides measuring the quality of the team, the FC 25 Squad Rating also provides another general rating: the Star Rating. The Team and Star Ratings are related, as shown in the table below.

How is it Calculated?
The Team Rating is essentially the average of all 18 players’ overall ratings, plus a correction value. The exact calculation isn’t widely known, so we will explain it in simple terms.
To find the team rating, you need the ratings of all starting eleven players and subs, including loan players. First, calculate the average rating of these 18 players by summing all the ratings (SUM) and dividing by 18. Each player whose rating is above this average contributes positively to the correction factor (CF) by the amount they exceed the average.
Here’s the general formula used to calculate the FC 25 Squad Rating:
SR = ( SUM + CF ) / 18
Follow these six steps to make it easier:
- Sum up the ratings of the 18 players.
- Divide by 18 to get the average rating per player (do not round it).
- For every player above the average, calculate by how much they are above and sum this up (do not round it).
- Add the value you got in the previous step to the total sum from step 1.
- Round this new total to the nearest digit and divide by 18.
- Round down to get the final FC 25 squad rating.
To make things easier to understand, we’ll look at an example of a generic squad. Consider the team shown in the image above. The player’s ratings are: 14 players rated 80 and 5 players rated 85.
- Sum Up the Ratings
Firstly, add up all the player ratings together. In this case, the sum is 1,465. - Calculate the Average per Player
Divide the total sum by the number of players, which is 18. This results in an average rating of 81.39. - Determine the Correction Factor
To find the CF, subtract the average rating (81.39) from each player’s rating. If the player’s rating is equal to or lower than the average, assume the difference is zero. Therefore, CF = (85-81.39)+(85-81.39)+(85-81.39)+(85-81.39)+(85-81.39) = 18.05. - Add CF to the Sum
Add the CF to the sum obtained in Step 1: 1,465 + 18.05 = 1,483.05. - Round and Divide
Divide the rounded sum by 18: 1,483 / 18 = 82.39. - Round Down
Round down the result to the nearest whole number: 82.
The final squad rating is 83.
