Champions Explained


Champions is the premier online competition in Ultimate Team, offering highly competitive head to head matches. The structure introduced in FC 26 returns with two brackets: Champions Finals and Champions Challengers.

Champions Finals represents the highest level of the competition and allows qualified players to complete up to fifteen matches in each campaign. Challengers has its own format, ranking structure and rewards. Campaigns usually begin on Friday, although their closing time may vary during the season or under special circumstances.

The Play Offs are no longer part of Champions. Players work towards qualification by earning Champions Qualification Points through Division Rivals or Squad Battles. Higher Rivals Divisions allow players to earn CQP faster, but there is no minimum Rivals Division requirement to play towards qualification.

Progression is determined by victories, with each win moving players towards a higher reward tier. Finals and Challengers have separate ranking structures and rewards. Champions rewards include Packs, Player Picks, Coins, Champions Qualification Points and other items.

Yes, each Champions campaign is a different competition if played on a different platform.
You can check your Champions Qualification Points balance in-game by navigating to Ultimate Team and selecting [Play] > [Competitive] > [Champions]. Alternatively, open the [Rivals] tile and switch to the [Champions] tab to view your total there.
You can play once for each qualification you earn.
If you don’t earn enough points to qualify in a given week, you can continue accumulating points until you reach the required total.
No. Champions Qualification Points carry over for the next Season.
Any unused Champions Qualification Points will carry over to the next season. This means that if you haven’t accumulated enough points by the season’s end, you can play additional additional Rivals or Squad Battles matches in the new season to earn the remaining points needed.
Yes. In FC 27, Champions Qualification Points can be earned through both Division Rivals and Squad Battles. Higher Rivals Divisions offer faster CQP progression, but Squad Battles provide an alternative route towards Champions qualification.

Your final rank determines the rewards you receive. If you complete all matches, you can claim them immediately. Otherwise, rewards are awarded at the end of the competition according to your final placement.

Yes. Seeing and opening your rewards through the Web and Companion Apps is possible.
No, you can open your Champions reward packs whenever you like. They do not expire. There’s no need to claim them before the next round begins; they will be available the next time you open Ultimate Team on your console.

You can also choose to save them for periods when higher-value items are available in packs, such as during Team of the Year. However, keep in mind that special Player Picks will always correspond to the week you earned them.
You must reach the minimum number of wins required for a reward tier. If you do not reach that threshold, you may finish the campaign without receiving Champions rewards. Check the current ranking and reward requirements in-game, as they may change during the season.
All Champions matches take place in the Champions Stadium. Any customizations applied to your Club will be visible to your opponent when you are the home team, with the exception of pitch line customizations.

    This determines the dedicated FC Game Data Center location used for your match, ensuring optimal connectivity.
  • Your current Form.
    Your Form determines your matchmaking. Form starts at 0 when you begin either competition and reflects your recent performance.
As players perform well in Champions, their Form increases, leading to more challenging opponents. Higher Form indicates greater skill and competitiveness.

Additionally, matchmaking considers location to match players with others nearby, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay experiences.
Your Form in Champions is a reflection of your recent performance in the current competition. At the start of each competition, your Form begins at 0 and adjusts based on your match outcomes.

For instance, let’s consider a scenario where you play five matches in a Champions run, with results as follows: Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Win. After these matches, your Form would be +1. Here’s how it breaks down:

  1. Before your first match, your Form is 0.
  2. You win the first match, earning +1. Form now at +1.
  3. You lose the second match, losing -1. Form now at 0.
  4. You lose the third match, losing another -1. Form now at -1.
  5. You win the fourth match, earning +1. Form now back at 0.
  6. You win the fifth match, earning +1 more. Form now at +1 again.
Your Form increases by one after a win and decreases by one after a loss. It is calculated separately for each Champions campaign and is limited by the number of matches available in the competition you entered.
Yes. Since FIFA 23 you can play Champions with players from the same generation if you have crossplay enabled on your account.
