The new Holographic card type adds premium visual effects and serial numbers directly onto the item design, inspired by real-world trading cards. Lower mint numbers are expected to become highly desirable among collectors and could significantly increase a card’s market value. Holographic variants are available for Icons, Heroes and standard Gold players, each featuring enhanced visuals and exclusive presentation effects. Special pack animations will create a more cinematic and premium experience when opening rare Holographic items.

FC 27 introduces a new generation of collectible Ultimate Team items through Signature and Limited cards. Certain players will now feature exclusive versions with unique designs, player autographs and individually numbered editions, bringing a new layer of rarity and prestige to Ultimate Team.

A new SBC Value system will allow players to complete selected Squad Building Challenges using point totals instead of only rating and chemistry requirements. Each card will have an assigned SBC value, and the game will be able to auto-complete squads instantly with a single button press. Traditional SBC requirements will still remain available depending on the challenge type.

The new pack animation presentation uses cinematic drone sequences inside the stadium, dynamically revealing nation, league and player position before the walkout. For the first time, pack openings may also become interactive, allowing players to move the camera and trigger fireworks during the animation.

A Gallery feature, which acts as a long-term collection system, will be added to the game. Packed players permanently remain registered in the collection, even after being sold or submitted into SBCs. Cards can be submitted into themed collections to earn grades and unlock rewards, with better cards leading to higher ranks and improved prizes.

Evolutions are becoming more flexible and personalized through branching upgrade paths. Players will be able to choose between different upgrades at each Evolution level, creating multiple possible final versions of the same card. FC 27 will also introduce the ability to undo the last Evolution choice or fully reset an Evolution progress path.
