FC 27 Showdown items are boosted based on the results of selected real-world football matches.

Showdown


Showdown items are special upgraded Player Items connected to selected upcoming upcoming real-world matches. Each Showdown features one player from each team, with the two items normally released through separate limited-time Squad Building Challenges.

After the real-world fixture is completed, the items receive upgrades based on the result. The player representing the winning team usually receives a +2 OVR upgrade, while both players receive a smaller upgrade if the match ends in a draw. The losing player receives no upgrade. The exact upgrade path may vary depending on the release and the stage of the FC 27 cycle.

Showdown items feature dynamic images and upgraded attributes, but they are not available in Ultimate Team packs. To obtain one, you must complete its corresponding SBC before it expires, usually prior to kickoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
FC 27 Showdown items are unique cards with boosted ratings and stats, exclusively available through limited-time SBCs. Their upgrades are determined by the outcome of the corresponding real-world match.
The usual process works as follows:
  1. EA selects an upcoming real-world fixture and releases one Showdown Player Item for each team;
  2. Each item is normally available through its own limited-time SBC;
  3. You can complete either SBC or both before they expire;
  4. After the match is completed, the items are upgraded according to the result;
  5. The winning team’s player usually receives a +2 OVR upgrade;
  6. If the match ends in a draw, both players usually receive a +1 OVR upgrade;
  7. The losing team’s player receives no upgrade.
The exact upgrades and additional improvements may vary depending on the individual Showdown release.
Showdown upgrades are normally applied within a few days of the real-world match. There is no guaranteed day or time, and processing may take longer in exceptional circumstances.
For a knockout fixture that requires a winner, the final result after extra time or a penalty shootout determines the Showdown upgrade. The player representing the team that advances receives the winning upgrade, while the other player receives no result-based upgrade.

The specific conditions displayed in the SBC description take precedence if EA applies different rules to a particular Showdown.
Showdown items are not available in Ultimate Team packs or on the Transfer Market. You must complete the corresponding limited-time Squad Building Challenge before it expires.
Yes. You can complete both SBCs before they expire. Once the real-world fixture is completed, at least one of the two items will normally receive an upgrade, while both may be upgraded if the match ends in a draw.
