Short cut
Introduction to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Club Items
In FUT 14 there are four types of cards: players, staff, consumables and club items. This last one is the less important but there are a few things about it that everyone should know.
First, you must have one club item from each category (balls, kits, badges and stadiums). In fact, it is not possible not having at least one item. On beginning the game, the starter pack brings one ball, two kits, one badge and one stadium. It is not possible to sell it without buying another club item of the same category. It is very common to find gamers that tell us that they cannot sell the club item they have. Remember this: you can only discard or send a club item to the auction house if this item is not active.
Another really important thing is to know what is the goal of these cards. The club items are almost useless for the success of your club. We will explain it better in the rest of the article.
FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Club Items – Balls
Every club must have an active ball. It will be the one that will be used in home matches. As it happens with the others club items, the balls do not have any effect on your club.
The balls of FUT 14 are the same as the ones in real life: they have different weights and they behave differently from each other. It means that the only advantage that you can take from a ball is to get used to it more than your opponents. It may be an advantage in your game play. The best thing you should do about it is to buy an unpopular ball with not a common colour (as pink). It will be harder to your opponent to play with it as you do.
If you are not one of them who loves to collect all the club items of the game, you will only need one ball – the active one. It makes no sense to own other balls since you only may have one active ball at a time.

Most of the players are used to white balls. Using balls of different colours may be a good strategy
FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Club Items – Kits
Every club must have one active home kit and one active away kit. You will be able to choose which one you want to use before every match. As it happens with the others club items, the kits do not have any role on your club.
You can choose the kits of your club preference in real life expecting an extra incentive but it will not work after some matches. The best thing you should do about it is to buy a home kit and away kit with different colours to avoid trouble distinguishing your players from the opponents’ players. Kits with unpopular colours could be a good strategy to confuse opponents but it will not give you a great advantage.
If you are not one of them gamers who loves to collect all the club items of the game, you will only need one home kit and one away kit. The ones that will be active. It makes no sense to own other kits since you only may have one active home kit and one active away kit at a time.
Many players use the kits of their favourite clubs
FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Club Items – Badges
Every club must have an active badge. It will be the one that will be shown on the beginning of every match and in every pause. As it happens with the others club items, the badges do not have any role on your club.
You can choose the badge of your club preference in real life expecting an extra incentive but it will not work after some matches.
If you are not one of them gamers who loves to collect all the club items of the game, you will only need one badge. The active one. It makes no sense to own other badges since you only may have one active badge at a time.
As it happens with the kits, many players use the badges of their favourite clubs
FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Club Items – Stadiums
Every club must have one active stadium. It will be the one that will be used on home matches. If badges are the most useless cards of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, the stadiums are probably the most important club items. But they don’t have a role in your club.
First, you should choose a stadium and get used to it. They are all different from each other, and are different in size, means that it will be harder for your opponent to play in your stadium as you do if his main stadium is another one.
You can choose the stadium of your club preference in real life, if available, expecting an extra incentive but it will not work after some matches. There is another thing that you should pay attention when picking a stadium: the weather. When you choose a stadium you are also selecting the weather. For example: if you like to play with dry weather, choose Amsterdam ArenA, BC Place Stadium, Euro Park, King Fahd Stadium, Sanderson Park, Veltins Arena or Waldstadion.
If you are not one of them gamers who loves to collect all the club items of the game, you will only need one good stadium, the one that will be active. No matter how many stadium cards you have, only one may be active at a time so we would recommend you to have only one good stadium card active in your team instead of having many of them.
