During the FIFA 17 official presentation at Santiago Bernabéu, La Liga ambassador Fernando Morientes announced that FIFA 17 will be the only Liga BBVA official videogame this year.

Just like it happened two years ago with the English Barclays Premier League, Electronic Arts gets the exclusive licensing rights on the teams, players and stadiums from Spain. It means that Konami will have to negotiate rights individually with each club if they don’t want to lose the league with the best players of the world. Like Morientes said “we have the world’s best league and EA are the best with football games”.

No one knows how it will be with PES 2017, but we believe that FIFA 17 will include all the Liga BBVA stadiums. We will have to wait to know.

EA haven’t confirmed the deal. However, we know that this is not just another rumour. You can watch the video of the top window if you want to see if your own eyes.

  1. The way EA monopolizes licensing only makes it tougher for PES to be a success and hurts the fans. They need to remove handicap from FUT in Fifa 17.
