FIFA 18 Festival of FUTBall

What is this event?

Festival of FUTBall was released for the first time ever two years ago, to celebrate the UEFA Euro 2016 and Copa America Centenario. It featured brand new special item releases, a fiesta of exciting new tournaments with a variety of rewards, the release of a brand new tournament reward pack and for the first time modern classic international heroes. Now, it is back to celebrate the 2018 FIFA World Cup with other great offers.

With the biggest football tournament on earth coming up this summer, EA will be celebrating the World Cup in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team with a month-long event that provides numerous ways to upgrade your FUT squad. From new squads of special FUT items to a variety of themed SBCs and Objectives, catch World Cup fever in Ultimate Team right alongside the massive tournament. Special World Cup In Form items

In the coming weeks squads of special FUT items will be released throughout the Festival of FUTball based on the best-performing players during different stages of the World Cup. Players are selected solely based on how they performed during a specific stage or stages of the tournament. The first international-themed squad release will be happening on June 20.

Path to Glory Selected player items will also be upgraded whenever the player is included in one of these squads.

The Festival of FUTball party continues as the 2018 FIFA World Cup rolls forward. The second set of group stage matches had even more drama and entertainment than the first, proving again why it’s one of the greatest tournaments on earth. From surprising performances from little-known players to the world’s best proving their quality, a handful of players stood out in this round and are being recognized in the second Team of the Matchday, part of this year’s Festival of FUTball. Highlights from this set of players include England center back John Stones’ brace against Panama, Luka Modric’s performance pulling the midfield strings in Croatia’s 3-0 win over Argentina, and Ahmed Musa’s dominance in Nigeria’s win over Iceland.

2 EUROPEAN CLASSIC HEROES

Not all of the best players in the world are in Russia this summer. Whether their national team didn’t qualify for the World Cup, or they didn’t make their country’s roster for whatever reason, there are plenty of World Cup legends watching this year’s tournament from the couch. To honor those players and their international legacies, a select squad of 23 players are getting special FUT items with upgraded ratings to reflect the heights of their International careers. The Classic European Squad includes the likes of Spain’s 2010 World Cup winner Fernando Torres, English stalwart John Terry, legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, and 2014 Cup-winning goalscorer Mario Götze. Check out the squad below to see all the Classic European players you can find in FUT packs for a limited time. The only exception is Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas, whose CES item is only available as a reward for completing a Weekly Objective.

Play along with the real-world tournament and complete the relevant SBCs to give your FUT squad a boost. Certain SBCs will only be available for a limited time, so be sure to log in to FUT often so you don’t miss the chance to improve your squad.

Look for Classic International Heroes released as special FUT items based on players with strong international pedigrees but are not playing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
