THE BEST FIFA 20 PREMIER LEAGUE CENTRE BACKS

A goalkeeper task is made easier if in front of him are quality central backs. Their function is to stop the opponent from getting dangerously close to your team’s goal.
On a centre back, two attributes assume particular importance on their performance: defending and physical.

A player with good at defending will have higher chances of dispossessing the opponent and avoid him reaching his box. The physical attribute measures how likely the players are to win possession with their body.

We don’t have to explain why Van Dijk is our favourite, right? He is the one. Davinson and Laporte are the best options to play with him. The City’s Centre Back defends better and is much better with the ball on his feet. However, we can’t resist to Davinson’s pace. After these two, our preferences go for the Belgian twins, Vertonghen and Alderweireld. Sokratis defends well and is much faster but he fails in almost everything else.

The last four are not as good as the first ones, but they may be useful depending on your needs. There is also David Luiz, who is out of this list because of his pace. However, if you want someone solid on your backline that can start the attack, he may be a decent choice.

THE BEST FIFA 20 PREMIER LEAGUE RIGHT BACKS

Full backs have the role of troubling the job of wingers. In addition, good full backs also support their team mates on offensive manoeuvres.
Defending and pace are very important attributes for any right back.

As defenders that they are, they should have good defending capacities. This reduces a team’s risk of conceding. A flanked game tends to be faster than a game based in the middle of the field. The players that fill these spaces need to be fast, both penetrating defensive and attacking moves of the team.

Walker or Cancelo? Who is the best right back? Well, it depends on your needs. Kyle Walker defends better but Cancelo is the right choice if you want someone good on the attack and able to assists his teammates.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is widely used by the community but Ricardo Pereira is clearly better than him. Players from popular clubs are usually more expensive but in this case, it won’t help you in the field.

Bellerín is the fastest Premier League right-back but he is also the weakest one. Besides that, he has low defensive work rate, which is not quite convenient for someone that is supposed to defend. Yedlin can be compared to him, especially because of his pace, but is not a quality choice for the defence either. In our opinion, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a better option. He has the lowest passing stat but at least he gives security to your back line.

Azpilicueta reminds us Zabaleta of past years: slow but a wall in the defence. He is a decent choice if you don’t want him to attack. You can also take a look at Aurier and Sidibé, cheap and balanced right backs.

THE BEST FIFA 20 PREMIER LEAGUE LEFT BACKS

Left backs have exactly the same role of their team mates on the other flank. In other words, they try to make a winger’s job hard and participate in the team’s offensive manoeuvres.

Andrew Robertson should be the first option to the left side of the defence of every Premier League squad. He has the best defending stats and he is also one of the best in the other attributes. However, don’t think that he has no competition. Luke Shaw is also a very interesting player. In our opinion, you should also add Lucas Digne and Benjamin Mendy to your notes. The first one is slightly slower but more capable in the rest of the other skills.

If you are looking for someone focused on the attack, you should try Angeliño. Tierney, Arthur Masuaku and Patrick van Aanholt are fast but they need something more to be considered good choices. On the other hand, Danny Rose and Kolašinac could be faster but at least they have what is requested to defend and attack.
