THE BEST FIFA 20 SERIE A DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS

Many of the FUT formations require some midfielders that have a natural aptitude to defend. Central defensive midfielders distinguish themselves for being especially aimed to help the back line. According to their attributes and their work rates, they can also be useful to start attacks. They occupy a very strategic position in the field.
You need to look at several attributes when choosing a central defensive midfielder: defending, to be able to support the back line; strength, to win possession more times; heading, to win the ball in aerial moves like goal kicks; pace, to cover as many spaces as possible; stamina, so he can equally participate in offensive and defensive plays (especially useful for players with high/high work rates); passing and possession, so that he can properly start attacks. In our opinion, the two first are the most important ones.

Usually, defensive midfielders are chosen to help the defence. So, it makes sense that they have high defensive stats. The area of the field occupied by CDMs is the one where most ball disputes happen. Strong players will have highest probabilities of winning the ball.

Matuidi is undoubtedly the best player for this position. Serie A fans should be happy to see a player of this class playing in Italy, especially now that De Rossi and N’Zonzi have left the league. He’s fast, strong and defends very well.

In our opinion, Parolo is slightly better than Leiva. He doesn’t defend as well but he is much stronger. However, the strongest CDM playing on this league is Medel, our fourth choice. For low-budget squads, we also recommend Matias Vecino, one of the fastest and with decent stats.

THE BEST FIFA 20 SERIE A CENTRE MIDFIELDERS

A lot of games are decided in the midfield and not close to the goals. The players that play in these zones are the ones that should create chances and set the pace of the game.
Centre midfielders are responsible for discovering lines that break the opponent’s defence. Their passing quality has to be really good so they can assist forwards.

Good dribbling skills allows the team to move forward, creating potential problems to the other team.

Allan is a fast top-quality player with amazing stats. However, he is more suitable to play as a defensive midfielder. In fact, he is better than Matuidi in that position! If you are looking for a more attacking midfielder, Pjanic may be a better choice, but if what you want is someone good at the defence and in the attack, then you should try Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

One of the most interesting things in the CMs of this league is to see that many of them have good stats to play as a CDM. It’s the case of Emre Can and Franck Yannick Kessié. Khedira could also be one of them, but he is too slow.

For low-budget squads, we recommend Bonaventura and Piotr Zielinski. Both are good value for coins.

There are just a few CAMs available on Serie A but most of them are really good players. It’s the case of Dybala, one of the best attacking midfielders in the entire game. He will score and assist his teammates a lot of times. Alejandro Gómez, our second choice, is a kind of light version of Dybala. He is also weak and bad at the defence, but he is great creating goal chances. On the positive side, the Atalanta midfielder is faster.

It’s strange to see Nainggolan as a CAM since he is more suitable to play as CDM. In fact, he still plays everywhere, which makes him our third choice. For low-budget squads, we recommend Luis Alberto.

THE BEST FIFA 20 SERIE A RIGHT MIDFIELDERS

Wingers are usually responsible for giving game width in the attack.
Pace is probably the biggest weapon of these players. They use it to escape opponents. However, to be fast isn’t enough to reach the opponent’s box. A good dribbling stat will help you to surpass the opponents’ players that appear on the way. When reaching the opponent’s box, the winger has to decide what to do. Normally, he decides to cross and that’s why it’s so important to have good passing stats.

Cuadrado and Lozano are both great wingers but who is the best one? This is one of the most difficult choices we had to make for this league. In our opinion, the Juventus midfielder is slightly better but you will be OK too with Lozano. Cuadrado assists better, has 5 stars skills and is more capable to help the back line.

For low-budget squads, we recommend Federico Bernardeschi (also has 5 stars skills), Callejón (one of the fastest) and Suso (the best combination of passing and dribbling).

Douglas Costa is the best Serie A left midfielder money can buy. He is the fastest one and also has the highest dribbling stat. Besides that, he has 5 stars skills and he is good at passing. Alexis Sánchez and Simone Verdi, our second and third choices, can’t be compared to him. They are good choices for low-budget squads. Choose the Inter’s winger if you want someone strong or Verdi if you give preference to the weak foot (5 stars), pace and passing.

Jony and Jordan Lukaku are also interesting choices.
