Andriy Shevchenko (born 29 September 1976) is a retired Ukrainian striker. Shevchenko started his career at Dynamo Kyiv and scored an average of one goal every two games, helping Kyiv win five consecutive league titles. Shevchenko was known for having everything – pace, power, two great feet and strong aerial ability.
These strengths led Milan to pay a then-record fee of €25m for his services, which he repaid by scoring 175 goals in 322 appearances during two spells with the Italian giants. Shevchenko later won the Ballon d’Or in 2004, and captained Ukraine in the 2006 World Cup finals.

Andriy Shevchenko made his Dynamo Kyiv debut in 1994. He helped his side to the league title the very next season having established himself as a regular in the side. A famous hat trick against Barcelona in the Champions League in 1997-98 helped Kyiv defeat the European heavyweights 4-0.
