Gamescom 2016 Overview
Gamescom 2016, which takes place between August 18 and August 21, is a trade fair for video games at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is organized by the Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware (Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software). It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware.
Gamescom 2016 is the world’s largest games event with 275,000 visitors, more than 5,000 journalists and 557 exhibitors from 39 countries attending the show in its third year. It was first held August 19-23, 2009. There are areas for business, entertainment and professionals.
The conceptual fundaments of gamescom consist of an efficient and comfortable business area, an entertainment area for the ultimate gaming and fun experience and the gamescom festival in the centre of Cologne to attract new target groups. As the only event of its kind, gamescom links the entire value-added chain, from developers, publishers and the trade all the way down to consumers, while stimulating discussion forums at every level.
The entire games world will present itself to the public at gamescom, the leading B2B entertainment trade fair in Europe and beyond. In 2016, plenty of innovations in games software and important hardware news are expected, as well as hundreds of world, European or German premieres.
As was the case last year, Sony have decided to give the annual event a miss.

Electronic Arts brings to the Gamescom 2016 an event , where FIFA 17 and other EA games will be shown. Let’s see what we know about it.
FIFA 17 Conference Date
It will take place in August 16 (Tuesday) at 6:30pm (UK time).

EA at gamescom experience will kick off on Tuesday, August 16. Mark your calendars for 6:30pm UK / 7:30pm CET / 10:30am PST, because at live.ea.com they’ll be hosting a live stream featuring FIFA 17, Titanfall® 2 and Battlefield™ 1, as well as providing new insights on NHL ®17, Madden NFL 17 and their EA Star Wars franchises.
The live stream will include:
– FUT LIVE! A view into FIFA 17 gameplay and Ultimate Team™, including insights from FIFA 17 developers and special guests on all-new features, two new game modes, FUT content, FUT Legends and what’s happening in mobile.
– Titanfall 2 Factions and Battlefield Squads events, where they’ll watch members of the community battle it out while getting a deeper look into each game.

Ten new FUT 17 legends will be announced in August 16.
Marc Overmars, Paul Scholes, Jamie Carragher, Alessandro Del Piero, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Carles Puyol, Juan Sebastián Verón, Emmanuel Petit, Rio Ferdinand, and Luis Hernández are brand new Legends coming to FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 17, exclusively on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

New Chemistry System
We expect to see many changes to the way how chemistry works in FIFA Ultimate Team. This is something Electronic Arts have to do after the chemistry glitch discovered by the community this year. If they implement this, for the first time in FUT history you will be able to see exactly what chemistry boosts do to your player’s attributes. That’s something really important to the game reliability and which was implemented to the MUT this year.
New FUT Legends
Every year new FUT legends are announced in the Gamescom and this year it shouldn’t be different. According to the most recent FIFA Online 3 database update, these may be the new legends of FIFA 17: Oliver Kahn, Raúl Gonzalez, Rivaldo, David Trezeguet, Jaap Stam, Michael Ballack, Cafú, Materazzi and Véron.
eSports Features
eSports is a massive industry and it is growing a lot. Electronic Arts already showed to their investors that they are working to turn FIFA more attractive to this public. We do not know if they will announce these new features for FIFA 17, like the largely requested Spectator Mode, but that time is coming.
