The 23rd edition of the competition will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This will be the first World Cup hosted by three nations and the first to feature an expanded format with 48 participating teams.

The tournament will see nations from around the globe competing for football’s greatest prize. Teams will be divided into groups before progressing to the knockout stages, where every match becomes a win-or-go-home battle on the road to the Final.

In the knockout rounds, if the score is level after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two 15-minute periods. If the tie remains unresolved, a penalty shootout will determine which team advances.

FC 26 celebrates the summer of international football with The World’s Game Update, a dedicated tournament experience inspired by the biggest national-team competition in the sport. Players can take control of more than 50 national teams and compete in a tournament format that mirrors the expanded 48-team structure seen on the global stage. The update also introduces themed Ultimate Team content, Evolutions, and special events tied to the international football season.
