FC 27 Nintendo

Nintendo Editions

EA Sports FC 27 is available separately for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Both versions bring the core football experience to portable play, but their features and available game modes are not identical.

Players can enjoy modes such as Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Kick Off, Tournaments, Online Seasons and Online Friendlies on both consoles. They can also play in handheld, tabletop and TV modes, with local multiplayer options allowing friends and family to play together on the same system.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version offers the more complete FC 27 experience. It includes The Grounds and Clubs, which are not available on the original Nintendo Switch, alongside gameplay improvements such as dynamic corners, enhanced attacking awareness and player-focused defending.

Nintendo Switch 2 also supports touchscreen features, HDR on compatible televisions and surround sound. GameShare allows FC 27 to be shared through GameChat or with nearby users for supported multiplayer experiences, including users who do not own the game.

Neither Nintendo version supports online crossplay with PlayStation, Xbox or PC. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 also use separate online ecosystems, meaning players using the two Nintendo versions cannot compete against each other online.

The original Nintendo Switch version provides a more limited experience designed for its hardware, while the Switch 2 edition includes additional modes, gameplay improvements and system-specific features. Both remain suitable for players who value portable play, but Switch 2 offers the broader FC 27 experience.

Local Seasons is a special mode on Switch that lets you play with another Switch nearby, within a range of 10 metres. It uses the console’s built-in WiFi, so you can enjoy FC 27 even without an internet connection, making it perfect for travel or areas with limited network coverage.

To start, go to Local Seasons in the Main Menu on both consoles and select Enter Seasons simultaneously. Once matchmaking is complete and you confirm your selections, you can begin the game.
You can play multiplayer on the same Switch by connecting a second pair of Joy-Cons or a Pro Controller to your Switch. Go into Kick-Off or any single-player mode and select a side with each pair of Joy-Cons or controller. You can also use the Split Joy-Con feature to play 1v1 or 1+1 Co-op without any additional equipment.

You can also play in Local Seasons. This means you can play the same FC title with someone else who has a Nintendo Switch if they’re within 10 meters.

Follow these steps to play Local Seasons:
  1. Make sure both Nintendo Switch consoles are within a 10-meter range and have Wi-Fi enabled.
  2. Launch the same EAS FC title on both consoles.
  3. Go to the main menu.
  4. Choose [Local Seasons] at the same time on both consoles. This should take you to the Local Seasons Hub.
  5. In the [Local Seasons Hub], select [Ready] on both consoles, then [Play Match].
The quickest way to play with other Nintendo Switch players online is by going to Seasons and searching for an opponent.

Here are some other ways you can play online with Switch players:

  • In Ultimate Team, you can create a Club and join Online modes like Rivals, Champions, Online Draft, Friendlies, or Rush.
  • In Clubs, you can join Drop-In, League, or Rush matches with other players.
  • If you have a friend on Nintendo Switch™, you can invite them to your session and play Online Friendlies.
  • If you’re within 10 meters of another active Nintendo Switch™, use Local Seasons to search for a nearby opponent and play wirelessly.
You can also play Local Seasons with nearby Switch 2 consoles, even without an internet connection or Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Please note that Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players cannot play online together, as they are part of separate ecosystems.
