Prepare Yourself
Before the season begins, preparation is crucial. Planning ahead makes all the difference. Just as no one wins a chess game without understanding the rules, success in FC 27 Ultimate Team relies on knowing how the game works. You don’t need to master every detail, but a solid understanding greatly increases your chances.
If you’re new to Ultimate Team, exploring the basics on our website is highly recommended. Returning players from FC 25 or earlier should focus on what’s new and what has changed.
During the planning phase, set clear expectations. Consider the type of club you want to build. Will you manage multiple squads? Aim for the top stars or explore underrated gems? Focus on regular items or prioritize special IF cards? Outline your goals, whether climbing to top divisions or playing casually. Decide if you’ll base your squad on bronze, silver, or gold players, how much time you’ll commit, and your approach to opening packs.
The more of these questions you answer now, the better prepared you’ll be. Early planning sets the foundation for stronger results throughout the season.
Start as Soon as Possible
In FC 27 Ultimate Team, the early bird catches the worm. Starting as early as possible is key, as the transfer market gradually stabilizes over time. Taking swift action allows you to spot valuable opportunities and stay ahead of market trends.
Getting ahead early doesn’t just boost your coin balance—it also gives you a competitive edge. Building a stronger team from the outset helps you win more matches and, in turn, earn even more coins.
Here’s how you can kickstart your journey effectively:
- Play the Beta
Get a feel for the game by taking part in the FC 27 Beta. While your progress won’t carry over, the experience and familiarity are valuable. - Web and Companion Apps
Use the web and companion apps to complete early SBCs and earn coins before the game fully launches. - EA Play
Subscribe to EA Play for early access and a head start that can help you win crucial early matches. - Special Edition
Opt for the Ultimate Edition to receive bonus items like the first batch of 2,000 FC Points during early access. - Buying FC Points
If you’re willing to invest, purchasing FC Points early on can provide a quick influx of coins when they’re most impactful. - Game Release
Be active at launch, when many players list valuable items at low prices, creating perfect buying opportunities.
Pick Your Starter Pack
The first thing you’ll be asked to do is choose the pair of leagues with the strongest presence in your starter pack. If you already have a team in mind, don’t overlook this step, as it can be the launching point for your dream squad.
Conversely, if you haven’t decided on a team yet, it doesn’t really matter which option you pick, since all items are untradeable and can’t earn you anything on the Transfer Market, nor can they be recovered if discarded.
Sell All Your Cards
Card availability may be limited at the start, but since all Starter Pack cards are untradeable, it’s crucial to use any tradeable items from your Welcome-Back packs to begin building your coin balance.
Once you’ve opened your first packs, your Ultimate Team journey truly begins. You’ve been provided just enough to set up your club, so manage your resources carefully, and consider delaying your first matches until you’ve completed the initial checklist tasks.
Your main priority should be establishing a financially sustainable club, and coins are key to that. The first step is converting tradeable assets from Welcome-Back packs into coins. Every coin matters, creating a foundation for long-term success.
While strategies may vary, the safest early approach is to sell all tradeable items from those packs while keeping untradeables for your initial SBCs. Don’t sell hastily at the lowest price; check current market values first, as some items could be worth more than expected.
This method also gives you flexibility in building your squad from scratch. Rather than being limited to the few players in your untradeable Starter Pack, you can generate coins from Welcome-Back items and assemble a team that matches your playstyle and objectives, fully supported by the balance you’ve earned.
Collect even more Coins
Selling items at the beginning provides a solid start, but more coins mean faster progress. Explore every opportunity:
- Moments
Use your starter untradeable team and a second controller to collect 60 stars and earn a tradeable Rare Players Pack. - Seasons
Utilize free rewards like Objectives for quick coin gains. - Evolutions
Develop existing players instead of immediately buying new ones. - SBCs
Complete early challenges, especially advanced ones, for profits. - Trade Coins
Consider exchanging FC 26 or other platform coins for FC 27 coins, despite potential disadvantages, to bolster your initial investment.
Start Trading
Now that you’ve built up some coins, it’s time to grow your wealth. Begin with low-risk investments while keeping a reserve as backup. Don’t worry about slow starts—the season is long. Early sales may be tricky, but as your coin balance grows, reinvest most profits while saving some for future opportunities. Continuous trading is key throughout the year.
Market behavior is particularly important at the beginning. Initially, it’s slow because cash flow is limited and experienced players tend to hold back until they earn FC Points or play more matches. If you pack a top-tier player, consider holding onto them, as their value could rise significantly.
Player prices are usually low in the first days, spike quickly, and then gradually decline. Take advantage of this early market scarcity to secure long-term success.
For your first investments, focus on items priced between 150 and 300 coins with at least a 50% profit margin. Consumables are a smart pick thanks to unlimited storage. Always keep liquid coins or assets to remain flexible and avoid setbacks.
Buy low, sell high—this is the foundation of building wealth. Monitor the market closely. Once your profits from staff and consumables surpass 50k coins, you can confidently move on to trading players and completing the rest of your checklist.
Build Your Team
Now that your setup is sorted, it’s time to assemble your dream team. In Ultimate Team, it’s not just about gathering top players; it’s about creating a cohesive unit with good chemistry. Look for players of the same nationality or league to enhance chemistry.
Consider more than just chemistry when selecting players; focus on their attributes and how they align with your playstyle. A high-rated team is useless if the players don’t complement your tactics.
To build a strong team quickly, invest wisely. If you completed the Pre-Season objectives, you will have a few packs to open on early October.
Start by filling squad spots with mid-tier players who can serve as substitutes or reserves. Gradually add first-team players as your budget allows, analyzing market trends for strategic purchases. Utilize ‘Concept Squads’ to plan your team and prioritize purchases accordingly.
Play
If you’ve followed our advice, your club is set up for success. Practice before taking on tough opponents. Start with Squad Battles on low difficulty using your starter players. This conserves coins and helps you get comfortable with gameplay.
Use loan players in early online matches to strengthen your team. Enable the Trainer feature for guidance during matches and turn it off once you feel confident. Focus on online matches for higher coin rewards.
Consider entering Draft for a fixed fee, which doesn’t require consumables or a squad. Champions and Rivals offer better rewards for capable players. Don’t worry about a perfect record at first; concentrate on improving your gameplay.
Never quit matches, as it reduces your coin rewards. Keep your club progressing by playing consistently.
