ATC
Abbreviation for Answer the Call. An Ultimate Team campaign celebrating players who rose to important moments or responded when their teams needed them most.

AWR FORMER
Abbreviation for Attacking Work Rate. A former player characteristic that described how actively a player contributed during attacking phases. In Ultimate Team, most of this behaviour is now determined by Player Roles and Focuses.

AXP
Abbreviation for Archetype Experience Points. Points earned through eligible activities in The Grounds and Clubs that contribute to Avatar and Archetype progression.

BAC
Abbreviation for Backbone. A chemistry style that improves Passing, Defending and Physical attributes.

BAS
Abbreviation for Basic. The default chemistry style applied to Player Items. Its attribute improvements depend on the player’s Chemistry level.

BIN
Abbreviation for Buy It Now. A Transfer Market option that allows an item to be purchased immediately for its listed Buy Now Price.

BIO
Abbreviation for Player Bio. A menu containing a Player Item’s personal information, ownership details and performance record.

BSG
Abbreviation for Bronze, Silver, Gold. The three Base Item quality levels used in Ultimate Team.

C
Abbreviation for Coins. For example, 500c means 500 Coins. Coins are the in-game currency used to purchase eligible packs and trade items on the Ultimate Team Transfer Market.

CAM
Abbreviation for Central Attacking Midfielder. A player position located between central midfield and the forwards.

CB
Abbreviation for Centre Back. A central defensive player position.

CDM
Abbreviation for Central Defensive Midfielder. A midfield position primarily responsible for protecting the defence.

CEN FORMER
Abbreviation for Centurions. A former Ultimate Team campaign celebrating significant career achievements and statistical milestones.

CF
Abbreviation for Centre Forward. An attacking position operating behind or alongside the main striker.

CHM
Abbreviation for Chemistry. A system that determines whether a Player Item receives the attribute improvements provided by its chemistry style. Chemistry is calculated from factors including position, club, league, nation and Manager links.

CM
Abbreviation for Centre Midfielder. A central midfield player position.

CTA
Abbreviation for Catalyst. A chemistry style that improves Pace and Passing attributes.

DEA
Abbreviation for Deadeye. A chemistry style that improves Shooting and Passing attributes.

DEF
Abbreviation for Defending. One of the six main outfield attributes. It represents a weighted combination of Interceptions, Heading Accuracy, Defensive Awareness, Standing Tackle and Sliding Tackle.

DFG
Abbreviation for Destined for Glory. An FC 27 Ultimate Team campaign featuring players selected for their potential to achieve major success.

DIV
Abbreviation for Diving. One of the six main goalkeeper attributes. It measures a goalkeeper’s ability to make saves while diving through the air.

DNF%
Abbreviation for Did Not Finish Percentage. A value associated with matches that a player failed to complete. Repeatedly disconnecting or leaving matches can reduce the DNF Modifier and the Coins earned from subsequent matches.

DRI
Abbreviation for Dribbling. One of the six main outfield attributes. It represents a weighted combination of Agility, Balance, Reactions, Ball Control, Dribbling and Composure.

DWR FORMER
Abbreviation for Defensive Work Rate. A former player characteristic that described how actively a player contributed during defensive phases. In Ultimate Team, most of this behaviour is now determined by Player Roles and Focuses.

EA
Abbreviation for Electronic Arts. The publisher of EA SPORTS FC.

EA SPORTS FC
The official name of Electronic Arts’ football video game franchise, commonly shortened to EA FC or FC.

EOAE
Abbreviation for End of an Era. A special Player Item celebrating the conclusion of a footballer’s career or an important period at a club.

ENG
Abbreviation for Engine. A chemistry style that improves Pace, Passing and Dribbling attributes.

EVO
Abbreviation for Evolution. An Ultimate Team feature that allows eligible Player Items to be upgraded by completing specified requirements and challenges.

FAN
An abbreviation used by some databases for Fantasy FC Player Items.

FBD
Abbreviation for FC Birthday. An Ultimate Team campaign celebrating the anniversary of Ultimate Team with special Player Items and themed content.

FC
Abbreviation for Football Club. It forms part of the EA SPORTS FC franchise name and can also refer to a football club.

FC IQ
The tactical and positional system that controls formations, Player Roles, Focuses and off-the-ball behaviour.

FCP
Abbreviation for FC Pro. It is used for EA SPORTS FC esports competitions and related Ultimate Team campaigns, including FC Pro Live.

FFC
Abbreviation for Fantasy FC. An Ultimate Team campaign featuring dynamic Player Items whose upgrades depend on eligible real-world performances.

FIF
Abbreviation for Fourth In Form. An unofficial community term for a player’s fourth performance-based In Form Item during the same Ultimate Team cycle.

FIN FORMER
Abbreviation for Fitness. A former Ultimate Team system that affected a player’s physical condition between matches. Fitness Items and squad fitness management are no longer used.

Abbreviation for Goal of the Season. A former EA community distinction recognising a selected goal as one of the best submitted during the season.

GOTW FORMER
Abbreviation for Goal of the Week. A former EA community feature that highlighted a selected goal submitted by a player.

GRD
Abbreviation for Guardian. A chemistry style that improves Dribbling and Defending attributes.

HAN
Abbreviation for Handling. One of the six main goalkeeper attributes. It measures how reliably a goalkeeper catches and retains the ball.

HUN
Abbreviation for Hunter. A chemistry style that improves Pace and Shooting attributes.

HWK
Abbreviation for Hawk. A chemistry style that improves Pace, Shooting and Physical attributes.

IF
Abbreviation for In Form. A performance-based Player Item generally awarded through Team of the Week or other eligible real-world performances.

IG
Abbreviation for In Game. An expression used when referring to something as it appears or performs during gameplay.

IFn
Abbreviation for In Form n Times. An unofficial notation identifying how many In Form Items a player has received. The letter n is replaced by the relevant number.

Abbreviation for In Real Life. It distinguishes real-world football events or performances from events inside the game.

K
Abbreviation for Kilo, meaning one thousand. For example, 2k means 2,000 Coins.

KR
Abbreviation for Knockout Royalty. An FC 27 Ultimate Team campaign celebrating players associated with decisive knockout performances.

LB
Abbreviation for Left Back. A defensive player position on the left side of the pitch.

LM
Abbreviation for Left Midfielder. A wide midfield position on the left side of the pitch.

LW
Abbreviation for Left Wing. An attacking player position on the left side of the pitch.

OOP
Abbreviation for Out of Position. It describes a player assigned to a position that is not one of their eligible positions, resulting in a simplified Role and reduced positional effectiveness.

OTW FORMER
Abbreviation for Ones to Watch. A former Ultimate Team campaign featuring dynamic Player Items assigned to prominent footballers who had transferred to new clubs.

OVR
Abbreviation for Overall Rating. A numerical value, generally from 1 to 99, representing a player’s overall quality.

PAC
Abbreviation for Pace. One of the six main outfield attributes. It combines Acceleration and Sprint Speed.

PAS
Abbreviation for Passing. One of the six main outfield attributes. It represents a weighted combination of Vision, Crossing, Free Kick Accuracy, Short Passing, Long Passing and Curve.

PC
Abbreviation for Personal Computer. One of the platforms on which Football Club and Ultimate Team can be played.

PHY
Abbreviation for Physical. One of the six main outfield attributes. It represents a weighted combination of Jumping, Stamina, Strength and Aggression.

POS
Abbreviation for Positioning. One of the six main goalkeeper attributes. It measures a goalkeeper’s ability to take effective positions when responding to attacking situations.

POTM
Abbreviation for Player of the Month. A special Player Item awarded to a footballer selected as the best performer in an eligible league during a particular month.

PS
Abbreviation for PlayStyle. A gameplay characteristic that gives an eligible player a distinctive ability or behaviour in specific situations.

PS+
Abbreviation for PlayStyle Plus. An enhanced version of a PlayStyle that produces a stronger or more distinctive gameplay effect.

PS4/PS5
Abbreviations for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Sony platforms on which Football Club can be played.

PSN
Abbreviation for PlayStation Network. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s online service for PlayStation platforms.

PWR
Abbreviation for Powerhouse. A chemistry style that improves Passing and Defending attributes.

R+
Abbreviation for Role+. A Role Familiarity level indicating that a player is accomplished in a particular Player Role.

R++
Abbreviation for Role++. The highest Role Familiarity level, indicating that a player is world class in a particular Player Role.

RB
Abbreviation for Right Back. A defensive player position on the right side of the pitch.
It can also refer to Rulebreakers, a former Ultimate Team campaign featuring Player Items with substantially redistributed attributes. FORMER

REF
Abbreviation for Reflexes. One of the six main goalkeeper attributes. It measures how quickly a goalkeeper reacts when making saves.

RES
Abbreviation for Reserve or Reserves. Players included in a Squad who are not part of the starting eleven or the active substitutes’ bench.

RM
Abbreviation for Right Midfielder. A wide midfield position on the right side of the pitch.

RR
Abbreviation for Ratings Reload. An FC 27 Ultimate Team campaign inspired by notable rating changes, upgraded attributes or revised player evaluations.

RTTF
Abbreviation for Road to the Final. An Ultimate Team campaign featuring dynamic Player Items that can be upgraded according to eligible clubs’ progress in UEFA competitions.

RTTK
Abbreviation for Road to the Knockouts. An Ultimate Team campaign featuring dynamic Player Items whose upgrades depend on eligible performances during the league phase of UEFA competitions.

RW
Abbreviation for Right Wing. An attacking player position on the right side of the pitch.

RWB
Abbreviation for Right Wing Back. A wide defensive position with defensive and attacking responsibilities.

SB
Abbreviation for Squad Battles. A single-player Ultimate Team competition in which players face AI-controlled squads and earn points towards weekly ranks and rewards.

SBC
Abbreviation for Squad Building Challenge. An Ultimate Team feature requiring players to submit squads that meet specified conditions in exchange for rewards. Submitted items are permanently removed from the Club.

SEN
Abbreviation for Sentinel. A chemistry style that improves Defending and Physical attributes.

SHA
Abbreviation for Shadow. A chemistry style that improves Pace and Defending attributes.

SHO
Abbreviation for Shooting. One of the six main outfield attributes. It represents a weighted combination of Positioning, Finishing, Shot Power, Long Shots, Volleys and Penalties.

SIF
Abbreviation for Second In Form. An unofficial community term for a player’s second In Form Item during the same Ultimate Team cycle.

SLD
Abbreviation for Shield. A goalkeeper chemistry style that improves Kicking, Reflexes and Speed attributes.

SNI
Abbreviation for Sniper. A chemistry style that improves Shooting and Dribbling attributes.

Abbreviation for Season Points. Points earned through eligible gameplay and Objectives and used to progress through an Ultimate Team seasonal ladder.

SPD
Abbreviation for Speed. One of the six main goalkeeper attributes. It measures how quickly a goalkeeper moves, particularly when leaving the goal to close down an opponent.

SS
Abbreviation for Shapeshifters. An Ultimate Team campaign featuring Player Items with permanent position changes and substantial attribute adjustments.

Abbreviation for Striker. An attacking player position primarily responsible for creating and converting goalscoring opportunities.

SUB
Abbreviation for Substitute or Substitutes. Players selected on the bench who can replace members of the starting eleven during a match, subject to the competition’s substitution rules.
