FC 27 Crossplay lets you play with friends regardless of their platform.
Platforms and Game Modes
FC 27 crossplay lets you play with or against friends and other players using different supported platforms. However, cross-play is limited to platforms from the same generation.
Players are divided into two cross-play groups:
- PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC;
- PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Players from different platform generations cannot play together. For example, PlayStation 5 players cannot play with PlayStation 4 or Xbox One players.
Cross-play is not supported on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2. Players on these platforms can only play online with others using the same Nintendo system.
Electronic Arts first tested cross-play in FIFA 22 in May 2022 with a limited selection of modes. It became available from launch in FIFA 23 and has since expanded. In FC 27, cross-play is supported across multiplayer online modes, subject to the platform-generation groups above.

FC 27 Crossplay Features
Crossplay in FC 27 lets players on supported platforms from the same generation compete or cooperate without changing the core gameplay mechanics.
Beyond making it easier to play with friends, crossplay creates a larger player pool. This results in faster matchmaking and increases the likelihood of finding opponents with similar skill levels.
Ultimate Team also benefits from a shared Transfer Market. PlayStation and Xbox players use the same market, while PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 each have separate markets.
A unified market improves Player Item availability, reduces price differences between supported platforms and creates more consistent market conditions. It is particularly beneficial on platforms where fewer items would otherwise be listed.
How to Crossplay
Crossplay lets players on supported platforms play with or against each other. It is enabled by default when you launch FC 27 for the first time. If you disable it, matchmaking will be limited to players using the same platform, reducing the number of available opponents.
Keeping crossplay enabled creates a larger player pool, which generally results in faster matchmaking and a better chance of finding opponents with a similar skill level.
How to enable or disable Crossplay in Ultimate Team
- From the FC 27 Main Menu, enter [Ultimate Team];
- Open [Settings];
- Select [Matchmaking Settings];
- Under [Cross-Play Enabled], select ‘Yes’ to enable crossplay or ‘No’ to disable it.
You can also manage crossplay through EA Connect:
- From the FC 27 Main Menu, open EA Connect using the icon in the bottom-right corner;
- Open [Social Settings];
- Select [Cross-Play];
- Open [Cross-Play Settings];
- Set [Cross-Play Enabled] to ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
EA Connect also lets you find and add friends using their EA ID or platform username, manage game invitations, create parties and mute, block or report other players. Crossplay cannot be enabled or disabled during a match.

Clubs players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC can join the same clubs and play together. Public clubs can be discovered and joined across these supported platforms. Crossplay is available across Clubs match types, including League, Playoffs, Friendlies and Drop-In matches.
There are two ways to enable the crossplay feature:
- From the bottom right hand corner widget;
- From the matchmaking options settings screen
(customise> online settings > matchmaking options > online settings)
If you’ve already met them in-game, search for their name as usual. If you know them from playing other games, search for them in-game using:
- their Origin name if they’re playing on PC;
- their PlayStation Network Online ID if they’re on PlayStation;
- their Gamertag if they’re on Xbox.
Use the widget in the bottom right-hand corner to search for your friend by his platform or EA username as indicated by the on-screen button prompt. Once you have found your friend’s name, select him and choose the option to add him as a friend. Your friend should accept your request in the widget.
Assuming crossplay is enabled, you can select his name from your friend’s list in the widget and follow the button prompts to invite him to a match.
When you’re searching for a friend on the main menu widget, you will see a crossplay platform indicator beside his name. If your friend is on the same platform as you, the indicator will show the platform you’re on. If your friend is on a different platform, a different Indicator will be shown.
