FC 27 Dual Entitlement is a program that lets you upgrade for free from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

For the seventh year in a row, EA SPORTS delivers experiences tailored for both current and next-generation platforms. Features that take advantage of the advanced capabilities of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are only available on these latest consoles.

In partnership with Sony and Microsoft, EA SPORTS continues the Dual Entitlement program, allowing players to upgrade their FC 27 copy from Xbox One or PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 at no extra cost. This ensures players do not need to purchase the game twice.

Dual Entitlement is included with eligible FC 27 Standard, Ultimate and Ultimate+ Editions for PlayStation and Xbox. It is available through both digital and physical purchases and is not exclusive to pre-orders. Dual Entitlement does not apply to PC, Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.

How to access Dual Entitlement

Purchase an eligible FC 27 Standard, Ultimate or Ultimate+ Edition for PlayStation or Xbox from a digital or physical store;
Sign in to the corresponding next-generation console using the same PlayStation Network or Xbox account;
Find FC 27 in your game library or console store and download the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S version;
If you own a physical copy, insert the disc whenever you download or play the upgraded version. A PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series console with a disc drive is required.

Progress

All progress and content acquired in FC 27 Ultimate Team, including players, items, coins, FC Points, match records and leaderboard rankings, will transfer between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, when using the same EA Account across both versions.

Yes, Dual Entitlement works with both digital and physical copies. Keep in mind that a physical copy requires a console with a disc drive (PS5 or Xbox Series X) to upgrade. Once I upgrade FC 27 can I go back?

Does my progress in FC 27 carry over?

Matchmaking is determined by the version of FC 27 you are running, rather than the console itself.

Players running the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version can play with and against others using that same generation version on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Players running the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S version can play with and against others using the current-generation version on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Therefore, a PlayStation 5 player running the PlayStation 5 version cannot play against someone using the PlayStation 4 version. However, they can install and launch the PlayStation 4 version to play with users of the previous-generation version.

Will my progress transfer if I move to another console?

Ultimate Team progress only transfers between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

What happens to my pre-order content?

If you redeemed pre-order content for FC 27 on PlayStation 4, you can continue to access that content on PlayStation 5 using the same account. Even if you pre-ordered on PlayStation 4 but first played the game on PlayStation 5, the content will still be available on the corresponding account.

Similarly, if you redeemed pre-order content on Xbox One, it will remain accessible on Xbox Series X|S using the same account. Pre-ordering on Xbox One but playing first on Xbox Series X|S will still grant the content to the applicable account.

These scenarios also apply to the FC 26 content granted to players who pre-order FC 27 before August 26, 2026. Content redeemed in FC 26 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will remain accessible in FC 26 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S when using the same account.
