One of the best-known examples was the “No Loss Glitch” in FIFA 22, which allowed players to avoid defeats in Champions matches. EA subsequently sanctioned more than 30,000 accounts for exploiting it.
A bug is a software error that affects how the game functions. Bugs may cause crashes, freezes, visual issues, incorrect menus, lost progress or other unexpected behaviour. The terms bug and glitch are often used interchangeably, although glitch commonly describes the visible result of an underlying bug.
Hacking or cheating involves using unauthorised software, modified files or external tools to manipulate the game or gain an unfair advantage. This is different from encountering a regular bug or glitch and may result in account sanctions.
Mistakes are content or communication errors made by EA, such as granting incorrect rewards, placing unintended items in Packs or publishing inaccurate information. Depending on the circumstances, EA may correct the affected content, remove it or provide compensation.
