FC 27 PACK NAMES
Ultimate Team Pack Names follow a certain logic order.
FC 27 Pack Names
Ever looked at FC 27 pack names and thought, ‘This is confusing’? You’re not the only one.
With hundreds of packs in the game, terms like Mixed, Premium, Prime, Electrum, Mini, Small, Large, Jumbo and Giant can easily become confusing. Pack names often sound similar, making it difficult to understand exactly what each one contains and how large it is.
FC 27 also introduces important changes to the pack system. Base Player Items are no longer divided into Common and Rare categories, and packs no longer state a minimum number of Rare Items. Instead, pack names use more consistent terms to describe their contents and size.
While some pack names and structures have changed, the overall pack-opening experience remains similar to previous editions. Our packs database is always a helpful reference, but understanding the logic behind pack names makes it much easier to know what to expect when opening them.
Comprehending Pack Names
With so many different terms, FC 27 pack names can initially seem confusing. However, most of them follow a clear and consistent structure. Every pack name ends with the word ‘pack’, while the words that come before it describe the pack’s size, the quality of its items and the type of items it contains.
In FC 27, a pack name can include up to three descriptive terms before the word ‘pack’. These terms belong to three distinct categories, usually arranged in the following order:
- Pack Size;
- Quality of Items;
- Category of Items.
Pack Size
In FC 27, pack sizes have been standardised. Unlike previous editions, the terms Mini, Small, Large, Jumbo and Giant now indicate the number of items included in a pack. The standard base pack contains nine items, while larger or smaller packs use a specific size term in their name.
Generally, packs can be classified according to the number of items they contain as follows:
Mini 3
A pack that contains three items.
The pack name always includes the term ‘Mini’.
Example: 86+ Star Player Mini Pack.
Small 6
A pack that contains six items.
The pack name always starts with ‘Small’.
Examples: Small Gold Players Pack, Small Silver Pack, Small Gold Pack.
Base 9
A standard pack that contains nine items.
In these situations, the pack name does not include a specific size term.
Examples: Gold Players Pack, Silver Pack, Gold Pack.
Large 12
A pack that contains twelve items.
The pack name always starts with ‘Large’.
Examples: Large Gold Players Pack, Large Silver Pack, Large Mixed Players Pack.
Jumbo 24
A pack that contains twenty-four items, more than double the amount of a base pack.
The pack name always starts with ‘Jumbo’.
Examples: Jumbo Gold Players Pack, Jumbo Silver Pack, Jumbo Mixed Players Pack.
Giant 30
A pack that contains thirty items. It is one of the largest standard pack sizes in FC 27.
The pack name always starts with ‘Giant’.
Examples: Giant Gold Players Pack, Giant Silver Pack, Giant Mixed Players Pack.
Some packs do not follow the standard sizes and may contain a different number of items. These packs are usually easy to identify because their names include the exact quantity, such as Two Gold Players Pack, Gold 13 Pack or 100 Players Pack.
nger indicate a minimum number of Rare Items.
Quality of Items
All FC 27 base items are classified by quality as Gold, Silver or Bronze. Packs are named according to the quality of the items they contain, while some packs combine items from two or more different qualities.
Generally, packs can be classified by the quality of their contents as follows:
Gold all
A pack that contains exclusively Gold items. The name of the pack includes the term ‘Gold’.
Examples: Gold Pack, Gold Players Pack, Large Gold Pack.
Silver all
A pack that contains exclusively Silver items. The name of the pack includes the term ‘Silver’.
Examples: Silver Pack, Silver Players Pack, Small Silver Pack.
Bronze all
A pack that contains exclusively Bronze items. The name of the pack includes the term ‘Bronze’.
Examples: Bronze Pack, Bronze Players Pack, Jumbo Bronze Pack.
Mixed 1/3
A pack that contains Bronze, Silver and Gold items. The name of the pack includes the term ‘Mixed’.
Examples: Mixed Players Pack, Small Mixed Players Pack, Large Mixed Players Pack.
Electrum 1/2
A pack that contains both Gold and Silver items, with no Bronze items. The name of the pack includes the term ‘Electrum’.
Examples: Electrum Players Pack, Small Electrum Players Pack, Large Electrum Players Pack.
Unlike pack size, the quality of the items is always indicated in the name of the pack. However, FC 27 no longer uses the Common and Rare distinction for base Gold, Silver and Bronze Items. Packs also no longer state a minimum number of Rare Items.
Category of Items
There are five main types of items in FC 27 Ultimate Team: Players, Staff, Consumables, Vanity Items and Club Items. Some packs are classified according to the category of items they contain.
Generally, packs can be classified by the types of items inside as follows:
Normal all
A pack that contains a mixture of different item categories, such as Players, Staff, Consumables, Vanity Items and Club Items.
In these situations, the pack name does not specify the types of items included. This category is therefore omitted from the pack name.
Examples: Gold Pack, Small Gold Pack and Jumbo Gold Pack.
Players 1
A pack that contains exclusively Player Items.
The name of the pack includes the term ‘Players’.
Examples: Silver Players Pack, Small Mixed Players Pack and Large Gold Players Pack.
Consumables 1
A pack that contains exclusively Consumable Items, including Manager Leagues, Contracts and Healing Items.
The name of the pack includes the term ‘Consumables’.
Examples: Consumables Pack and Large Consumables Pack.
As you can see, there are only three categories. No packs consist exclusively of Staff, Vanity Items or Club Items.

Frequently Asked Questions
In most cases, an Ultimate Team pack name follows a logical sequence of three categories: pack size, quality, and item type.
Sure, let’s look at the Small Electrum Players Pack. The three categories we discussed appear here in the correct order. First is the size: Small, which means the pack contains six items. Electrum indicates a mix of Gold and Silver items, while Players tells us that the pack contains only Player Items. What may seem like a complex name is therefore easy to understand: six players, containing a mix of Gold and Silver items.
Next, consider the Gold Pack. Here, the size is not mentioned, so it defaults to a standard nine-item pack. The term Gold indicates that all items are Gold, while the absence of a specific item category means the pack contains a mixture of Players, Staff, Consumables, Vanity Items and Club Items.
Unlike previous editions, FC 27 pack names no longer use terms such as Common and Rare to indicate the minimum number of Rare Items. The pack name describes the size, quality and category of its contents, but the exact probabilities and contents should always be confirmed on the in-game Pack Probability screen.
