FC 27 PLAYER ITEMS
Player Items are the cards used to represent footballers in FC 27 Ultimate Team.
Player Items
The most important cards in Football Club 27 are the Ultimate Team player items, as they are essential for setting up your squad on the pitch. Before each match, you must choose your starting eleven and fill all seven substitute slots; without doing so, participation is not possible.
If you are looking for a specific player, using the player filters on the transfer market is recommended. While items obtained from packs hold value, you can sell unwanted ones on the market for coins or use them to complete SBCs.
FC 27 Player Items can provide access to information such as:
- Overall Rating and Quality;
- Face Stats and detailed Attributes;
- Rarity classification;
- Primary and alternative Positions;
- Chemistry and Chemistry Style;
- PlayStyles and PlayStyles+;
- First Owner status;
- Skills, Weak Foot and Preferred Foot;
- Transfer Market information;
- Player Bio and performance statistics.

Overall Rating and Quality
The first thing you look at when you see a player card is its rating. This number, which goes from 0 to 99, gives a general idea of how good the player is. However, remember that overall rating is not an average or a reflection of all attributes. Sometimes, players with lower ratings can be better choices.
The color of the player item indicates his quality:
- Bronze, for ratings up to 64;
- Silver, for ratings between 65 and 74;
- Gold, for ratings between 75 and 99.
Face Stats and detailed Attributes
The six cace stats are Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defending and Physicality. Goalkeepers use a separate group of Attributes, including Diving, Handling, Kicking, Reflexes, Speed and Positioning. They summarise the most important areas of a player’s performance, but they do not show every Attribute that can affect the Item.
For a more detailed assessment, it is recommended to review all attributes under ‘bio’ > ‘attribute details’. Using the right stick also allows you to see the most relevant stats for the player’s position.
Rarity
Base Player Items, available from the beginning of the Ultimate Team cycle, are classified as Bronze, Silver or Gold according to their Overall Rating. FC 27 no longer divides these base Items into Common and Rare categories.
Special Player Items use distinctive designs and rarity classifications associated with their Item type, campaign or upgrade path. These may include In Form Items, Hall of FUT, Heroes, ICONs, Evolution Items, Holographic Items and other campaign Items.
Concept Items represent possible squad options but cannot be used in matches. The visual design of a Player Item helps identify its type and campaign.
Primary and alternative Positions
Every Player Item has a primary position and some Items also have alternative positions. Players should be used in an eligible position whenever possible, because placing them elsewhere may affect Chemistry and reduce their effectiveness.
A goalkeeper can technically be moved to an outfield position, but their Attributes and role are not designed for that position.
Chemistry and Chemistry Style
Chemistry is displayed from zero to three blue diamonds. It reflects how well a player fits the squad through factors such as position, Club, League, Nation and Manager links.
The Chemistry Style determines which Attributes can receive boosts. The number of active Chemistry diamonds affects the strength of those boosts.
PlayStyles and PlayStyles+
PlayStyles represent specific behaviours and abilities that influence how a player performs during a match. They can affect actions such as passing, shooting, dribbling, defending or physical challenges.
PlayStyles+ are enhanced versions that provide a stronger effect. They are associated with specific Player Items and do not simply increase the Overall Rating. The type and number of PlayStyles depend on the Item.
First Owner status
A Player Item is First Owner when it is obtained directly from a Pack, Objective, SBC, reward or another in game source. Items purchased from the Transfer Market are not First Owner.
First Owner status does not automatically change the player’s Attributes or match performance, but it can be relevant for Objectives, SBCs, Gallery Tags and other requirements.
Skills, Weak Foot and Preferred Foot
Skill moves indicate the level of technical moves a player can perform. Weak foot measures how effectively the player can use their non preferred foot, while preferred foot identifies the player’s dominant foot.
These characteristics are not fully represented by the Overall Rating and can be decisive when comparing similar Player Items or choosing players for a particular position.
Average Price
The Transfer Market information shows the average price of a tradeable Player Item. This value is only a reference, since prices change according to supply, demand, rarity, rating, position and the current game meta.
Untradeable Items cannot be sold and do not have a usable Transfer Market value.
Player Bio and performance statistics
Press R3 to open the [Player Details] screen. The Player Bio includes information such as nationality, Club, League, date of birth, height, Preferred Foot, Weak Foot, Skill Moves, alternative positions, PlayStyles and tradeability status.
You can also view performance statistics, including matches played, goals, assists, bookings, acquisition price and the number of previous owners.
Graphic Signs
Sometimes you find a player item that has something different on it. If you don’t know what it is, we will try to help you identify four different situations.
When a player is suspended or injured, their cards have rectangles or band-aid signs on the top right side. The signs disappear as soon as you use a healing card on them or end the suspension.
A specific signal also identifies the players on loan: a blue circle showing the remaining matches.
Since FC 24, there is also a special icon to identify first owner items and others to identify their Playstyles.
Frequently Asked Questions
A player item is the most important of the four card categories in Ultimate Team. Having this type of item in your club allows you to control the player on the pitch.
Open Ultimate Team, go to the Transfer Market, search using the available filters, select a tradeable Item and submit a purchase or bid.
After you have bought him, choose [Send to club] or [Place in active squad].
A suspended Player Item cannot be used in the applicable mode until the suspension expires. Follow the on screen instructions to see which matches are affected.
Put him in the reserves (on the right of substitutes) and wait until he recovers. Alternatively, you can select the player, choose [Apply consumable] and use a healing item.
To see all stats you need to go to the [Bio], pressing R3 when a player is highlighted.
In Football Club 27 Ultimate Team there are no work rates.
Usually, a player’s gold status reflects their overall rating, but this is not always a reliable measure of quality. Attributes are a more accurate indicator, as some silver players may have better stats than gold players, and the same can occur when comparing bronze and silver players.
Special Items may offer higher ratings, improved Attributes, additional PlayStyles or other advantages, depending on their type. Their design or rarity alone does not guarantee that they are better for every squad or playstyle.
You can store an unlimited number of player items in your club as long as there are no duplicates in your squad. Duplicates can be kept on the transfer list, in the duplicate pile, or on the targets list. Different versions of the same player item are not considered duplicates, but they cannot be used together in the same squad.
Whenever you pack a player you want to use or purchase one on the UT transfer market, you must add it to your team by selecting [Send to active squad].
If the card does not appear in your squad and you are certain you haven’t discarded it or sent it to the transfer list or market, it was likely redirected to your club because your squad was full.
