FC 27 MISTAKES
Discover the top 10 mistakes that FC 27 Ultimate Team players commonly make and learn how to avoid them.
FC 27 Mistakes
Experience across multiple Ultimate Team editions has helped us identify the decisions that most frequently cost players matches, Coins, rewards or valuable Items. Avoiding these common FC 27 mistakes will help you improve your results while protecting the progress made by your Club.
- Resist the Temptation of Easy Coins
Never trust websites, apps or social media accounts claiming to generate Coins, duplicate Items or provide free rewards. These are usually scams designed to steal your EA Account credentials. Buying Coins or participating in prohibited transfers can also result in Coin removal, Transfer Market restrictions or account sanctions. Use only official EA services and legitimate gameplay rewards. - Avoid Spending Coins Impulsively on Packs
Store packs may be entertaining, but their contents are random and usually worth less than their Coin price. Before opening one, check its probabilities and consider whether buying the player you need directly from the Transfer Market would offer better value. Packs obtained through gameplay rewards do not create the same financial risk. - Do Not Rage Quit
Leaving a match early normally prevents you from receiving its Match Coins and any applicable End of Match Rewards. Repeated incomplete matches can also reduce your DNF Modifier, lowering the number of Coins earned from subsequent matches. Finish the match whenever possible, unless a connection or technical issue makes continuing impossible. - Choose the Right Formation, Roles and Focuses
A formation should complement the strengths of your squad and the way you want to play. Assign suitable Player Roles and Focuses, then observe how they affect positioning and movement during matches. In FC 27, special Player Items receive Role++ familiarity for every Role available in their primary and secondary positions, giving you more tactical flexibility. - Optimise Your Connection Safely
Use a wired connection whenever possible, avoid heavy downloads or streaming during matches and play through the most stable network available. A correctly configured NAT Type 2 connection is normally sufficient on consoles. Do not open ports indiscriminately or aim for NAT Type 1 without understanding the security implications. Connection quality can improve responsiveness and reduce disconnections, but it does not guarantee easier opponents. - Check Streamlined SBC Submissions Carefully
Most Player and Upgrade SBCs in FC 27 use a score based system instead of requiring a complete squad. Each submitted Item contributes according to its OVR and rarity, and progress can be completed through multiple submissions. Compare the score you still need with the value of the selected Items before confirming, as submitting an unnecessarily valuable player wastes resources. Duplicate versions of the same Item can also be submitted.
- Stay Calm
In close matches, concentration often determines the outcome. Avoid letting frustration influence your passing, tackling or shooting decisions. After conceding, remain patient and continue following your tactical approach instead of forcing risky attacks in an attempt to respond immediately. - Analyse Your Opponent
Use the opening minutes to identify how your opponent attacks and defends. Observe whether they press aggressively, defend deeply, rely on wide players or repeatedly trigger runs behind the defensive line. Adapt your formation, Tactical Focus and player positioning to exploit the patterns you recognise. - Do Not Ignore Chemistry
Each player can earn up to three Chemistry Points. These points determine the size of the Attribute improvements provided by the active Chemistry Style. A player with zero Chemistry retains their base Attributes and does not receive a penalty, but they miss the potential boosts available at higher Chemistry levels. Prioritise Chemistry when the resulting improvements are valuable, without automatically rejecting a stronger player who has fewer points. - Know the Market
Check current prices before buying, listing or discarding valuable Items. Prices can change rapidly because of SBC requirements, Campaign releases, rewards and pack supply. Compare several listings and remember that every completed Transfer Market sale is subject to the five percent Ultimate Team tax. - Plan Evolution Pathways Before Committing
Some FC 27 Evolutions provide branching Pathways that lead to different Attribute or PlayStyle improvements. Use the Evolution Chain Preview to inspect possible future upgrades before selecting a path. Choosing only the most attractive immediate improvement may prevent the Item from qualifying for a more useful Evolution later. - Do Not Overvalue Item Rarity
Holographic Items are visually rarer and contribute more to FUT Gallery Set scores, but they have the same in match Attributes as the corresponding standard special Item. Do not pay a significant premium expecting the Holographic version to perform better on the pitch. - Understand the Game Rules and Mechanics
Learning how Chemistry, Roles, PlayStyles, SBC Score, Evolutions, rewards and the Transfer Market operate is just as important as improving your squad. Review the requirements and restrictions before committing Coins or Items, particularly when completing an SBC, selecting an Evolution Pathway or purchasing an expensive player.
