FUT Chemistry Glitch Explained

 

Q: What is the Chemistry Glitch?
A: It is a glitch discovered by the FIFA community in which chemistry stat bonuses don’t apply as they should.

Q: Which cards are affected by this glitch ?
A: All non-day 1 cards: transfers, upgrades, TOTW, MOTM, TOTY, TOTS, Heroes, Record Breaker, iMOTM and probably FUTTIES if EA don’t fix the glitch before their release date. NIF cards, including Legends, are the only ones not affected by this glitch.

Q: What exactly happens with non-day 1 cards because of the chemistry glitch ?
A: Well, we will try to explain it as simple as possible. As you can see in the following table, players with higher chemistry have more green chevrons to improve their stats. If a player reaches individual chemistry 10, he will get the highest improvement possible – 6 chevrons – on the stats boosted by the chemistry style applied to him. The problem is that no matter you do with your cards which were not available on the FIFA release date, they will always assume chemistry 4, which means that their stats will not receive any boost (0 green chevrons).

Q: What are the implications of this glitch ?
A: First of all, chemistry styles are useless for 2nd edition cards because these players don’t have green chevrons. Chemistry is broken for them, which means they will keep the same stats no matter the position where they play or the links they get. For Draft, for example, you can always choose the best IF cards instead of looking for green links.

Q: Does it means that NIF cards can be better than IF cards ?
A: Yes, depending of the card. The chemistry boost of day 1 cards may be big enough to make their basic stats become better than the other ones, what usually happens when the difference between basic stats of both cards is small.

Resuming:

    TOTY cards are always better than NIF and other IF cards;
    TOTS cards are almost always better than NIF and alway better than other IF cards;
    Most of the TOTW (especially IF1 and SIF), MOTM, iMOTM, upgrade and Heroes cards are worse than the NIF cards but better than previous IF cards;
    Transfer cards are always worse than NIF card.

Q: Does it means that I should not care about chemistry ?
A: For non-day 1 players, yes. Ronaldo, for example, will play equally well as ST and as LW. There is absolutely no reason to pay almost two times more for his ST NIF card.

Q: How unfair is this glitch to who is spending time and real money in the game ?
A: A lot. You are not getting what you expected to get and that can be viewed as fraud. Second edition cards are not as good as they are announced and they were supposed to be. For part of the community this glitch can also help to explain the handicap.

Q: How long the chemistry glitch exists ?
A: Probably it is 2 to 3 years old.

Q: What about the fitness glitch ?
A: Just like the chemistry glitch, the fitness glitch was also discovered by the FIFA community. In this glitch, you can use non-day 1 players cards over and over again without losing fitness. They always start matches with full stamina, no matter what the fitness value says.

Our development teams have continued to investigate the reports of potential chemistry and fitness inconsistencies within FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 16, and we want to provide you with an update.
Our work has shown that there appear to be some differences in how fitness and chemistry apply to some FUT items. The differences appear to be the same for all FUT fans, but only applying to some FUT items, so we’re making some changes to ensure the attributes are being applied consistently across all items in the game.
To do that, we’re working on a title update for FIFA 16 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms, and will be deploying it as soon as possible. We’ll continue to keep you updated on timing.
We appreciate the help from the FUT community and ongoing dialogue across channels like YouTube, the forums, and r/FIFA. We hear you and your interest in better understanding how FUT works, and as we move towards the launch of FIFA 17, we will be sharing more about the deeper mechanics of Ultimate Team.

This update addresses inconsistencies in chemistry and fitness on some FUT items
As mentioned in our previous communication on this topic, we will be sharing information on some of the deeper mechanics of Ultimate Team as we move towards the launch of FIFA 17. We will let you know as soon as we have confirmation of the release on other platforms. Thank you

Q: What is the FIFA U Team position about the chemistry and fitness glitches ?
A: We have been working with FUT since its launched and all we can say is that it isn’t anything new to us. We believe that EA had no intention to affect players’ chemistry and fitness but they probably already knew it and they haven’t done anything to fix it because it wasn’t a priority to them until the community discover. All these years we have suggested to use NIF cards instead of IF cards because these last ones are not good value for money: the stats you see in their cards are not same ones you see in-game. That’s why, for example, we don’t analyse IF cards in our league guides.
