Evolutions is a brand new feature coming to Ultimate Team: you pick a player, complete in-game objectives and gain permanent upgrades. This powerful new system changes how you think about and build up your squad.

For the very first time, you have the opportunity to enhance players in your club through Ultimate Team Evolutions – a brand-new method to construct your squad around your favorite players. Select players that meet the Evolutions criteria and accomplish a series of objectives to boost their individual skills, PlayStyles, and overall ratings, ensuring they remain competitive throughout the year.

Additionally, you’ll have the ability to upgrade their Player Items’ appearance with fresh designs and animated backgrounds, allowing you to showcase your homegrown Evolutions players and the milestones they’ve achieved for your Club to your opponents.

As you level up your players you’ll also earn visual upgrades to show off all the work you’ve put into them. After you evolve a player once, that’s just the beginning. You will be able to run the same player through multiple Evolutions throughout the year, so by the end of the year, you can have unique versions of players that no one else has. With the addition of women’s leagues and Evolutions, this is the year where you can finally build your Ultimate Team.

How Does It Work?


You can upgrade and evolve your players by assigning them to an Evolution slot and completing in-game challenges with them. Once these challenges are accomplished, the player receives permanent upgrades.

Keep in mind, not all players qualify for every Evolution; you need to review the requirements to determine eligible players. For instance, you might see objectives like ‘Evolve any Bronze Player’ or ‘Evolve a right back with 2* skill moves’.

Some Evolutions will be available each season without cost, while others will require coins or a combination of coins and points. Similar to maintaining balance in upgrades from SBCs, Objectives, and the Transfer Market, the aim is to ensure that the evolution paths in Ultimate Team remain equitable and well-rounded.

Additional avenues will be introduced for players to enhance their squads over the course of the season. Certain Evolutions may have a limited availability, necessitating completion within specified timeframes or enrollment by particular deadlines.

Player Evolutions present you with an opportunity to enhance five aspects of your cards:

  • Stats
    The in-game statistics of a player, including skill moves and weak foot.

  • Overall Rating
    The overall rating displayed on top of the card.

  • PlayStyles
    The newest feature introduced in EA Sports FC 24, providing unique traits and abilities to players.

  • Position and Work Rates
    In rare cases, the position or the work rates of a card may be changed to another one, especially if it is a special item

  • Appearance
    As the card is being upgraded, its appearance changes, with new dynamic and animated backgrounds.
Having the ability to upgrade cards in such a comprehensive manner ensures that these cards remain relevant to the power curve and can maintain their effectiveness throughout the entire game cycle.
