Total Management System
Tactical Vision
The Total Management System in Manager Career grants managers the authority to shape their club’s football philosophy through Tactical Vision. With seven real-world and authentic philosophies to choose from, including Standard, Tiki-Taka, Gegenpressing, and more, you can influence your team’s approach on and off the pitch. Each Tactical Vision offers a distinct style of play, whether it’s possession-based Tiki-Taka, high-pressing Gegenpressing, or defensive-minded Park the Bus. Your decisions will impact your team’s performance and help define the club’s identity.
Tactical Vision Scouting
The Scouting system has been refreshed to help managers recruit players that fit seamlessly into their tactical system. In addition to existing filters like position, age, and remaining contract, new filters have been added:
- Tactical Fit
Scouts now prioritize players with key attributes that align with the chosen Tactical Vision. For example, for a Counter-Attack style, players with high Agility, Stamina, Dribbling, and Acceleration will be highlighted, while Tiki-Taka players will be assessed based on attributes like Ball Control, Short Passing, and Positioning. - Overall Condition
This filter allows managers to specify the desired quality of players they are looking for, ranging from Backup to World Class. - PlayStyles: Managers can now request players with specific PlayStyles in their repertoire, making it easier to find players who suit their preferred game approach.
Coaches operate across different departments, which include Attack, Midfield, Defence, and Goalkeeping. Players are linked to their respective departments based on their pitch positions, including both senior and youth players. For instance, the Defensive Department consists of players in positions such as Left Wing Back (LWB), Right Wing Back (RWB), Left Back (LB), Right Back (RB), and Centre Back (CB), within the Squad Hub and Youth Academy. Players who are on loan are not associated with any department. Each coach needs to be assigned to a specific department, allowing the players in that department to benefit from the coach’s Tactical Knowledge and Player Development expertise.
Tactical Knowledge
Coaches are categorized based on their Knowledge of the Tactical Visions, with three levels: Novice, Accomplished, and Expert. Their Knowledge level can be improved through matches and match wins, with XP contributing to reaching the next level. Coaches with higher Knowledge levels can increase player Attributes in their department, with Expert coaches having the potential to improve up to 9 Attributes. The size of the Attribute increase depends on player sharpness and the player’s position on the pitch. Tactical Vision Knowledge levels are applicable to players regardless of their department.
Player Development
Coaches in the game have specific skills for developing players, represented by star ratings from 1 to 5, which are department-specific. When coaches are assigned to a department, their skills are combined with those of other coaches in that department to calculate the Achieved Quality. The players in each department determine the Ideal Quality needed to access the maximum boost on Player Development Plans. Boosted players receive more XP, leading to faster growth and conversion plans completion. The coach boost works alongside existing factors that determine XP growth, and the Ideal Quality evolves with changes in the squad. Trimming down the squad to focus on key players can yield the best results in terms of player development speed.
Coach Management
Managers can assign hired coaches to club departments based on their needs. The number of available coach slots depends on the club’s stature, and additional slots can be unlocked by achieving a good manager rating at the end of the previous season. The market of available coaches refreshes periodically, and managers can create a wishlist for desired Tactical Vision, Knowledge, and specific coach skills. Coaches can be freely moved between departments to balance the Ideal Quality, and they can be released with a severance package. Building the ideal coaching staff is a process that requires skill and patience, allowing managers to experiment and find the best mix for their club’s success and player development.
Training Plans
Team preparation in FC 24 is a crucial aspect of success, where managers must balance building player Sharpness and regaining Fitness throughout the season. The revamped team training system introduces Training Plans, allowing managers to prioritize performance or energy for each player. The priorities shift based on minutes played, natural fitness, and the squad’s calendar. Managers can assign Training Plans individually or to groups of players and use the “copy last” function for efficiency. Striking the right balance is key to optimizing player attributes and avoiding injuries on the path to victory.
Pre-Match Preparations
In FC 24, the matchday experience has been revamped to emphasize the importance of team preparation and decision-making in football. The new Matchday Hub integrates pre-match reports, dedicated training sessions, and press conferences, all aimed at providing managers with key insights and in-depth preparation to overcome their opponents effectively. Whether facing top-flight teams or others, this comprehensive approach enhances the realism and strategic elements of the game.
Pre-Match Reports
Pre-match reports offer valuable insights into your opponents’ playing style. Each season, you’ll encounter teams with different systems, formations, and threats to your game plan. These reports empower you with key information, including the opponent’s probable line-up, considering match availability and their Tactical Vision, along with descriptions of their offensive and defensive styles. Additionally, you’ll find details about the opposing team’s recent form over the last 5 matches and their current competition standing. To further aid your preparation, the reports highlight key attacking and defensive players on the opposing team, allowing you to focus on potential threats and make informed decisions about your approach to the match.
Match Ready Training
With the knowledge gained from the pre-match reports, you can now fine-tune your team’s preparation using Match Ready Training sessions in FC 24. These one-off drills are designed to target specific aspects of the game and unlock temporary PlayStyles for your players. The PlayStyles earned as rewards will depend on the chosen drill and the positions of the players involved. Only players participating in the drill will be eligible for the temporary PlayStyles.
Tactical View
In FC 24, the Manager Career mode introduces a highly anticipated feature: Tactical View. Players can now spectate matches and experience the action from various viewing angles. Whether closely monitoring specific players or observing the entire field from a bird’s-eye perspective, Tactical View offers a range of options.
One notable aspect is the ability to witness the match from the touchline, providing a glimpse into the chaos and dynamics of the game just behind the manager. Players can smoothly switch between different views during the match without the need for pausing. Furthermore, they have the flexibility to make quick tactical adjustments and change the game plan in real-time as the match unfolds.
Tactical View is fully integrated with other Manager Career experiences, offering a seamless transition between different modes. If players wish to take direct control of their team, they can easily do so through the pause menu. Alternatively, if they want to enjoy a more passive role after securing a comfortable lead, they can sit back and watch the rest of the match from Tactical View. Additionally, players have the option to switch to Sim mode to expedite the game and reach the final whistle when desired. With Tactical View, players can fully immerse themselves in the Manager Career mode and gain more control over their team’s performance on the pitch.
