FC 24 Player Career is a game mode that offers you the chance to play through a lifelong player career.
New Features
In FC 24 Player Career mode, new features include Player Agents, PlayStyles for customizing your player, a Focus Camera to immerse yourself in the action, and dynamic moments like Open Top Bus Parades and Awards Events. Additionally, players can now earn the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, becoming legends of the game.
Player Agent
Role of the Agent
The Player Agent feature offers in-depth exploration of transfers, contracts, and career development over multiple seasons. It acts as a guide, providing commentary on achievements, losses, and negotiating potential transfers and contracts with clubs to shape your future in the game.
Shaping your Path
In the game, negotiations with the Player Agent play a pivotal role. Even when you secure another season at your current club, planning ahead becomes essential. Each season’s evaluation will determine whether your club wants to retain you or if you need to explore other opportunities. You can shape your career path by either selecting a target team or considering clubs recommended by your Player Agent.
Target Team
A Target Team is a club you set as your next career step. Seasonal objectives for the club are tracked, and if you successfully complete them, you can join that club. Only one Target Team can be active at a time, but it can be changed during the season. The Agent helps evaluate your choice, offering a stepping-stone club recommendation if aiming too high. Some teams may not sign you due to budget constraints or positional needs, but as you develop, they might change their mind, giving you future opportunities to join them.
Throughout the season, your trusted Agent curates tailored opportunities based on your performance and career growth. The Agent evaluates your progress, providing club recommendations that serve as unique challenges, not just transfer options. Meeting the outlined objectives secures places at clubs that can act as stepping-stones to greater opportunities. These recommendations consider geographical context and wage potential, aiming to elevate your career. Before each season’s end, the Agent offers new suggestions based on your current performance, ensuring you have options. The Agent also shares information on a team’s Tactical Vision, making you aware of expectations on the pitch when considering a switch.
Objective Generator
Each club in the game sets specific requirements to join or continue with your current contract, represented as active objectives throughout the current season. Objectives depend on factors such as the league’s prestige, star rating, financial status, and your desired weekly wage when moving clubs or starting the next season. These objectives are divided into two categories: Mandatory and Optional. Mandatory objectives must be fulfilled for the club to consider working with you, while completing optional objectives alongside the mandatory ones increases the offered weekly wage. The nature of these objectives is defined by the club’s tactical style and your position, reflecting the specific gameplay preferences and strategic approach of each club.
Always Plan Ahead
Planning ahead is crucial to shaping your career as you desire. With the Agent’s assistance throughout the season, you can set your financial requirements for your Current, Target, and Recommended Clubs. As the season nears its end, you’ll need to finalize your targets, locking down your wage preferences. Considering your next move before this point allows for more options in choosing where to play next season and maximizing your financial potential.
Weekly Wage Expectation
The salary (Weekly Wage) offered by each club varies based on factors like league prestige, star rating, and financial status, along with the player’s overall rating. Better clubs in stronger leagues can provide more favorable financial terms, but they may also have higher performance expectations. As a player’s development progresses, greater salary opportunities become available. Even if you can’t fulfill all objectives, a club might still offer a contract, potentially with a lower salary. Conversely, if you overperform significantly, the club may not fully compensate for additional objectives, requiring careful consideration when selecting your desired earnings.
On Loan
Your current club closely monitors your progress and requires you to fulfill objectives to maintain your place there. Negotiating a higher salary can advance your career, but it’s crucial to surpass the club’s minimum wage threshold through consistent performance. If the mandatory objectives for your current club aren’t met at the end of the season, you may have the option to go on loan. Accepting the loan means proving your worth at another club before potentially returning to your original club to continue your career. If you decline the loan, you’ll need to seek another club and sign a contract with them, departing from the original club.
Free Agent
When your contract with the current club is expiring, you have two options: renew it if the club is content with your performance or explore opportunities as a Free Agent. Joining a club as a Free Agent offers a bonus to the weekly wage, making planned transfers financially advantageous.
PlayStyles
In FC 24, the Player Personality system has been enhanced, enabling you to influence your player’s growth. At each of the 7 levels of Personality, you can assign a PlayStyle, a distinct booster that impacts your on-pitch behavior. The available PlayStyles depend on the distribution of Personality Points among existing Personalities – Maverick, Heartbeat, and Virtuoso. Focusing on developing one type of personality grants access to more PlayStyles from that particular type.
As you gain experience, your Personality evolves over time, granting access to previously inaccessible PlayStyles and potentially losing access to those associated with a Personality type that no longer aligns with your player. Additionally, there are generic PlayStyles that can be equipped across all Personality types.
Upon reaching the final level of Personality, if one Personality type becomes highly dominant, you’ll gain access to a potent and refined version of one of your equipped PlayStyles known as a PlayStyle+.
Focus Camera
To improve the locked player camera experience in Player Career mode, FC 24 introduces key enhancements for a more immersive gameplay. The camera prioritizes keeping your player on-screen while maintaining focus on the ball. When approaching the opponent’s box or performing crucial actions like dribbling or jockeying, the camera will zoom in to emphasize the player’s importance.
These enhancements, known as Focus, are available on all platforms and have been applied to the default camera of each console generation. Tactical Focus camera is available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, while Legacy Focus camera is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
Customization
In Player Career mode, FC 24 has enhanced player customization by introducing requested items like tattoos, Face Guards, and Goggles. These additions provide players with more ways to create a unique and personalized appearance both on and off the pitch, in addition to using PlayStyles to define their playing style.
Training Updates
In FC 24, two quality of life improvements have been made to the Player Career mode. Firstly, players can now participate in training sessions before each match without worrying about missing them due to match progression. Secondly, playing these training sessions will also allow players to earn Personality Points, contributing to their player’s development.
Dynamic Moments
In FC 24, the Cinematics team has focused on celebrating success with exciting new features. The game now partners with the Ballon d’Or to showcase the prestigious individual football award ceremony, where you can witness your player receiving this ultimate recognition.
Additionally, the open top bus trophy parade will bring together all the trophies you’ve won, and Manager of the Year and Player of the Season awards will be presented in extravagant galas. Dynamic Moments, a new feature, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in both Manager and Player Career modes. These enhancements aim to make your in-game achievements more immersive and rewarding.
