Ultimate Team Styles

Chemistry Style Items allow you to specify which attributes will be impacted by chemistry in FIFA 26. These items can be applied to any player, tailoring their attributes to suit the needs of your squad. They do not alter the chemistry numbers but instead redistribute the stats that receive chemistry boosts.

You can apply a Chemistry Style to a player multiple times, but only one Style can be active on a player at a time. The chosen style remains in effect until you apply a new one. When a player item is traded, the buyer inherits the active style.

There are twenty-four chemistry styles available: nineteen for outfield players and five for goalkeepers. Outfield player chemistry styles can only be applied to outfield players, while goalkeeper chemistry styles are exclusive to goalkeepers. Special players, such as Heroes, Icons, and loan players, can also benefit from chemistry styles.

Top Chemistry Styles for Every Position

When selecting a chemistry style, it’s crucial to take into account several factors: price, position, formation, playstyle, squad, and player attributes. Here, we’ve compiled a list of the best chemistry styles for each position to help you make the right choice quickly.

Goalkeepers
  1. Glove
  2. Basic
  3. Wall
For goalkeepers, the priority attributes are reflexes, diving, handling, positioning, speed, and kicking. Since no chemistry style enhances both reflexes and diving simultaneously, we recommend the Glove style, as it boosts diving, handling, and positioning. Although other styles may improve attributes like speed or kicking, we often consider the Basic style a viable option as well.

Center-Backs
  1. Sentinel
  2. Anchor
  3. Shadow
Defending and heading are key attributes for center-backs, with pace playing an important role too. The Sentinel and Anchor styles are best suited for CBs. Sentinel is ideal for central CBs in 5xx formations or defenders with high defensive work rates and low attacking work rates, while the Anchor style is perfect for other center-backs.

Full-Backs
  1. Shadow
  2. Powerhouse
  3. Guardian
Fullbacks need a balance of strong defensive skills and pace, along with the ability to contribute to attacking plays. The Shadow style enhances defense and pace, making it a great choice. If your fullbacks are key for crossing, the Powerhouse style boosts passing and heading, which is especially useful for aerial duels.

Defensive Midfielders
  1. Backbone
  2. Powerhouse
  3. Shadow
Defensive midfielders often struggle with pace, so a style like Shadow is perfect to boost speed. Backbone and Powerhouse are top choices, offering a balanced upgrade to their defensive and physical stats, making them more effective in breaking up attacks.

Center Midfielders
  1. Artist
  2. Maestro
  3. Deadeye
For center midfielders, the Artist and Maestro styles enhance passing and dribbling, essential for controlling the midfield. If you prefer long shots, Deadeye is also a solid option to improve finishing.

Wingers
  1. Engine
  2. Catalyst
  3. Hunter
The Engine style is the go-to for wingers, offering a well-rounded boost to speed, dribbling, and passing, perfect for crossing and cutting into the box. Depending on your playstyle, the Catalyst style might also be a good alternative.

Strikers
  1. Finisher (Best Style)
  2. Hawk (Runner-Up)
  3. Hunter (Special Mention)
For strikers, the best choice is usually Finisher for those who play as a target in the box. Hawk works well for those who want added mobility, while Hunter is suited for players who rely on counterattacks and prefer not to cross into the box. Additionally, Marksman is great for skillers, and Sniper is ideal for extremely fast players.
Frequently Asked Questions
FC 26 chemistry styles are consumable items that allow you to choose which attributes will be affected by the chemistry.
As long as your player has chemistry, the active style will play a key role in their performance. The higher the chemistry, the greater the impact the style will have.
There are twenty-four Football Club chemistry styles in total: nineteen for outfield players and five for goalkeepers. Outfield player chemistry styles can be used by any outfield player, while goalkeeper styles are exclusively for goalkeepers. It’s important to remember that outfield styles cannot be applied to goalkeepers, and vice versa.
These items permanently change a player’s Chemistry Style until a different one is applied to him.
FC 26 chemistry styles have the greatest impact when a player has the highest possible chemistry. However, if a player has low chemistry, applying a style item will have no effect, making it unnecessary.
There are three things about FC 26 chemistry styles you can find on a player’s item:

  • The name of the style that is active in that player;
  • The stats impacted by the style;
  • The three diamonds indicating how big is the chemistry.
When the diamonds are all filled, all selected stats are boosted. When no diamonds are filled, no stat is increased.
If you want to use a style in a player, follow these steps:

  1. From the main Ultimate Team screen, press R1/RB twice to go to the [Club] tab;
  2. Select [Squad];
  3. Choose a player and press Square/X;
  4. Select [Apply Consumable];
  5. Press R1/RB to navigate to the [Styles] category;
  6. Select the desired style item and confirm.
FC 26 Chemistry styles, like other consumables, can be used only once. Each player can have only one active style at a time, and the style’s effect lasts until a new one is applied. When you trade a player item, the buyer will receive it with the active style still in place.
Selecting the right chemistry style requires careful consideration of several factors. While the decision can be challenging, it ultimately depends on your priorities. Here are key points to consider:

  • Price
    The cost of chemistry styles can vary, ranging from 150 coins to 5,000 coins. Teams on a tight budget should be mindful of this. However, higher prices don’t always equate to better styles. For example, while styles like Hunter and Shadow are often more expensive, the Basic style can be a practical and cost-effective choice.

  • Position
    The player’s position plays a significant role in choosing the right chemistry style. Defenders tend to benefit from defensive styles such as Sentinel, Guardian, and Anchor, while attacking styles like Sniper, Deadeye, and Finisher are more suited for forwards. Midfielders might favor styles like Artist, Powerhouse, or Engine. Goalkeeper styles are reserved exclusively for goalkeepers.

  • Formation
    Your team’s formation can also influence the ideal chemistry style. Players in the same position but different formations may require different styles. For example, central defenders in a 4xx formation may prioritize pace, while those in a 5xx formation may need defensive and heading boosts. Carefully analyze each player’s role within the formation.

  • Play Style
    Your preferred play style should be considered when selecting a chemistry style. Whether you favor wing play or a more central approach, make sure the chemistry style aligns with how you utilize each player on the pitch.

  • Squad Composition
    Think about the overall dynamics of your squad. If certain attributes are already covered well by other players, focus on enhancing different areas to achieve better balance and performance across the team.

  • Player’s Attributes
    Take note of the player’s current attributes before applying a chemistry style. It’s not efficient to boost attributes that are already maxed out (e.g., 99). Instead, choose a chemistry style that complements and enhances the player’s existing strengths and addresses any weaknesses.
One of the most common dilemmas in choosing a chemistry style is whether to boost the player’s lowest stats for balance or enhance their already strong attributes to make them stand out even more. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question.

In general, players tend to opt for boosting their highest attributes because these are often the most crucial for their position. For instance, players like Harry Kane prioritize enhancing their attacking prowess rather than focusing on defensive stats, which they may not need in their position.

However, there are exceptions. In cases where a player’s deficiencies significantly impact their effectiveness, it may be more beneficial to address those weaknesses. Take the example of Harry Kane, a formidable striker with exceptional shooting and physical attributes but lacking in pace. In such instances, applying a chemistry style to improve his speed may be more prudent than further enhancing his already strong shooting and physical abilities.

Ultimately, the decision on which chemistry style to choose should be based on individual preferences and the specific needs of your team. It’s a personal choice that depends on the player’s position, play style, and overall strategy.
