Through a partnership with Sony and Microsoft, EA SPORTS continues to offer Dual Entitlement, allowing players to upgrade their copy of FC 26 from Xbox One or PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 at no additional cost. This ensures players won’t need to buy Football Club twice.

The Dual Entitlement program is available with pre-orders of any edition, including the Standard Edition.

How to access Dual Entitlement

Purchase the FC 26 Standard or Ultimate Edition from your console’s store (specific versions exist for each generation);
On your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, open your library, search for ‘FC 26’, and install the game;
On your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, access your library, search for ‘FC 26’, and install the next-generation version.

Progress

All progress you make or content you acquire within FC 26 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FC Points, match record, and leaderboard placement), will transfer from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and back, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S and back.

Can I buy FC 26 for Xbox One and upgrade it for PS5?

No, that’s not possible. FC 26 Dual Entitlement is only available when you upgrade from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Can I buy the physical copy?

Yes, it works with both digital and physical copies. Please note that a physical copy of the game will require a console with a disc drive (PS5/Xbox Series X) in order to upgrade. Also, be aware though that physical stores also sell PS5-only packaged products which will be playable only on a PlayStation 5 console.

Once I upgrade FC 26 can I go back?

Yes, you’ll be able to play FC 26 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One after taking advantage of the Dual Entitlement offer.

Can I play the PS4 version of FC 26 on my PS5?

Yes, you can download and play the PlayStation 4 version of FC 24 on your PlayStation 5 and the Xbox One version of FC 26 on your Xbox Series X|S.

Does Dual Entitlement give me access to both versions?

Yes, with Dual Entitlement, you’ll be able to access and play both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 version of FC 26 on your PlayStation 5 or both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version of FC 26 on your Xbox Series X|S. In addition, you can switch back and forth between each version of the game, providing they are both installed on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Does my progress in FC 26 carry over?

All progress you make or content you acquire within EA SPORTS FC 26 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FC Points, match record, and leaderboard placement) will transfer from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and back, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S and back. Progress within all other modes including Online Seasons, Co-Op Seasons, Manager and Player Career, Clubs, etc. will be specific to the console you are playing on and won’t transfer between consoles.

Will PS5 players be able to play against PS4 players?

You can match up with and against other players based on the version of FC 26 that you are playing.

Suppose you are playing the PlayStation 4 version of FC 26. In that case, you can match up and play with and against other players playing on the same version of FC 26, regardless of whether they are playing on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. The same is true for the Xbox One version of FC 26, where you will be able to match up and play with and against other players who are playing the same version on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

What happens to my pre-order content?

If you redeemed pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC 25 on PlayStation 4 you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC™ 25 on PlayStation 5. If you pre-ordered FC 26 on PlayStation 4, but waited to play the game first on PlayStation 5, you will still receive the content on the applicable account.

If you redeemed pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC 26 on Xbox One, you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC 26 on Xbox Series X|S. If you pre-ordered FC 26 on Xbox One, but waited to play the game first on Xbox Series X|S, you will still receive the content on the applicable account.

Both scenarios apply also to the EA SPORTS FC 26 pre-order content granted tor those pre-ordering before August 20, 2025: If you redeemed pre-order content in EA SPORTS FC 26 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One you will continue to be able to access that content, when using the same account, in EA SPORTS FC 26 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
