FC 26 introduces a major update to Ultimate Team Champions. Play-offs are now a thing of the past, streamlining the path to weekend competition. Players in Division 5 and above will qualify directly for FUT Champions, while those in Division 6 or lower can take part in the brand new FUT Champ Challengers, a dedicated version of FUT Champions designed specifically for lower Division Rivals players. This change aims to make high-stakes competition more accessible and rewarding for everyone, no matter their division.

FC 26 is bringing significant updates to Division Rivals, transforming checkpoints into Stage Events that feature specific objectives, such as scoring first in your next game, that grant extra rewards and add new layers of strategy to each match. Win streaks are now more valuable than ever, as they earn you double Rival points, making it easier and faster to climb the ranks for those who can maintain consistent victories. To support players facing tough periods, relegation protection has been introduced, preventing immediate division drops after a series of losses and ensuring a fairer experience during challenging runs. Additionally, penalties for leaving too many games are being tested; for example, players who quit multiple matches may face temporary time bans before they can queue again, encouraging sportsmanship and a better overall experience for everyone in the community. These changes aim to make Division Rivals more engaging, competitive, and rewarding throughout the season.

FC 26 is set to shake up Ultimate Team with a major update to roles, playstyles, and focus mechanics. Three new roles are being introduced: center backs can now play as Wide Backs, defensive midfielders get the Box Crasher role, and fullbacks (LB/RB) can operate as Inverted Wingbacks—offering fresh tactical flexibility and new ways to build your squad.
Playstyle updates are also on the way. The all-new Enforcer playstyle brings a more dominant defensive presence to the pitch, while several existing playstyles are evolving: Aerial becomes Aerial Fortress, Flair transforms into Trailblazer, and Trivela is now called Inventive. Each update is designed to better reflect player specialties and add more personality to gameplay.
Finally, a new Versatility Focus system is being introduced, giving players even more control over how they develop and deploy their squads. These changes promise to make team-building and on-pitch action more dynamic, strategic, and personalized than ever before.
