FIFA 17 Transfer Players Cards are released twice a year to replicate in the game what is happening in the real transfer market. Let’s learn something more about these cards that are released during the FUT 17 Transfers season.
FIFA 17 Transfer Players Cards Introduction
What are FIFA 17 transfer players cards?
In Ultimate Team, transfers are made through the release of new cards in two specific times: Summer and Winter Transfers Seasons. In order to keep the game updated, Electronic Arts replicates in to FIFA 17 Ultimate Team what is happening in the real transfer market.
When a player moves from his club to another one in the real life, EA Sports releases a new card of this player: the transfer card. The only difference you will find between the new card and the old one, the regular version, is the club and eventually the league. In everything else they are physically identical, including the ratings and the stats which remain unchanged.
When a player is transferred, the cards that start coming in packs are the ones with the new club. To each player who moves to other club during the FUT 17 transfers season, it is assigned a new regular card which becomes available in packs replacing the old one. In other words, as soon as the new card is inserted in FUT packs, the old ones can only be found in the existing clubs and in the transfer market. Your odds of pulling the new card from a pack are exactly the same of pulling the old one when it was available.
If you own the original player card, your card will keep unchanged. If you want the new club version, you will need to buy the corresponding new card in the market or cross your fingers when opening a pack.

FIFA 17 Transfer Players Cards Availability
When FIFA 17 Transfer Players Cards will be available?
These cards are released two times in the year: during the Winter Transfers Season, on January and February, and during the Summer Transfers Season, on August and September. In any of these cases, the cards are released as the transfers are occurring.
The Summer transfers take place when FIFA 17 is released. Thousands of players cards are updated in that time. Most of the Winter transfers are released in FUT on February 1st, and they usually affect more than 1,000 players.
As soon as transfer cards are released, they replace all the respective regular cards that were supposed to be released in packs until the end of the game, or eventually, until a new transfer card release.
FIFA 17 Transfer Ratings and Stats
How big are the ratings and stats boosts?
FIFA 17 Upgraded Transfer Cards are physically identical to the originals, including on rating and stats. The only difference is the club and, eventually, the league.
FIFA 17 Transfer Players Cards Prices
What happens to the Transfer cards’ prices?
These new cards’ prices vary mostly according to their new scenario. When the player goes to a popular club, his new card’s price will start rising to even reach three times the original value, and only after a few days it’ll eventually get close to the old card’s value. Many times these changes don’t even benefit chemistry for when the player remains in the same league. However, some players’ emotional will lead them into paying many coins for a card that’s actually not that different.
When a player goes to less popular clubs the new card’s price gets slightly superior, but then after some time the old cards become rare enough to be considered the most valuable ones.
One of the best trading opportunities during the transfer windows has to do with players that stop coming from packs and so they become rarer and more expensive. If you buy this card in advance, you can later sell it for a much greater price when the market doesn’t have many to offer.
In the coming weeks, we will add a much deeper explanation to what will happen to the FIFA 17 Transfers players cards prices in the market.

Q: What is the a transfer card?
A: It is a non-day 1 regular player card that updates the club when he moves to other club.
Q: What happens exactly if a player receives a new card?
A: When a player is transferred, the cards that start coming in packs have got the new club.
Q: Are there two regular cards for a single player that was transferred?
A: Yes. One corresponds to the start of the season and the other corresponds to where he moved to during winter transfers.
Q: Do players on loan also get a new card?
A: Yes. A player gets a new card just as long as he starts playing in the new club.
Q: What happens with the retired players’ cards?
A: They no longer are available in packs. The existing ones keeps like they are without any change.
Q: How long are FIFA 17 Transfer Players cards available in FIFA packs?
A: As soon as they are released for the first time, they remain in packs until the end of the game, replacing the day 1 cards, or eventually until a new transfer card be released.
Q: If I have a card of a player that is moving to other club, will this card get updated?
A: No. It remains exactly the same, with the original club.
Q: When do the new cards take place over the old ones in packs?
A: EA Sports don’t release them all at once. The usual expectation is for biggest part of the update to be made on the transfer deadline day, February 1ts 2016. However, they also release cards before and after this date.
Q: When there is an update, which cards are the ones that come in packs?
A: The new ones.
Q: Which cards are released first: transfers or upgrades?
Q: How many players receive new cards during the FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Winter transfers?
A: It depends on the amount of transfers that occur. It’s been estimated that up to 1.000 players can receive new cards.
Q: Do all transferred players get a new card?
A: Supposedly that should happen, and it effectively does on the most popular leagues. But some players from less popular leagues end up “forgotten”, although generally EA’s cover is quite wide and efficient.
Q: The NIF cards are the only one to be updated?
A: Yes. The IF cards released after the transfer will start coming in packs featuring the new club.
Q: Can I have both the original and the new card in my club?
A: Yes. However, a squad can only have one of them.
Q: Can a transferred player receive an upgraded card?
A: Yes, he can. Although EA Sports try separating player transfers/player upgrades, there are rare cases in which the same player is both transferred and upgraded at the same time. In that case both situations are passed on to one single card.
Q: Why can’t I find a player that was among the Winter transfers?
A: Probably because in the beginning of the game he played for a club that isn’t in FUT 17. Only players that were once in the game’s initial database will potentially get new cards, otherwise they won’t be there, not even if they’re moving to a FIFA 17 licensed club.
Q: Why did a certain player stop coming from packs?
A: Because he moved to a club that’s not in FIFA 17.
Q: What advantage do the FIFA 17 Ultimate Team transfers bring us?
A: Once the new cards are released, league/club possible combinations increase, which makes it easier for us to build squads with good chemistry.
Q: I already have a squad. What is it good to me?
A: If you’re already “done” with your squad, the transfers increase your improvement opportunities. If your squad is based on a league, for example, Winter transfers season will increase your options to improve your squad because there will be more players available in the league you’re using.
