The FIFA 20 Carryover Transfer Guide

Why the FIFA 20 carryover transfer details are so important?

We thought that creating a guide like this wouldn’t be really necessary since most players already know what they’ll be able to carry over to FUT 20. However, we started receiving several help requests concerning this theme. A lot of our followers have started playing FUT this year, so this is completely understandable. Even we ourselves have been in this position several years ago when we first started playing and looking for the same answers. We have been receiving these questions so frequently that we felt the need to look all over the internet and see if there are many people in the same situation… and yes there are. The bad thing is that among all the answers given by the most experienced community players, there are many, many inaccuracies and contradictions.

Whoever is familiar with us knows that we don’t like to leave the slightest questions unanswered. That is why we’ll be exploring everything there is to know about the FIFA 20 Ultimate Team carrying over: what you’ll keep from the previous game, what happens if you switch consoles, what you need to do to switch to FUT 20 and how FIFA points transaction works. No matters if you are a FUT regular gamer or fresh to the game, keep up with us as we clear things up. As always, we will swot up your knowledge and bring you right up to date with what is going on!

Transferable Items

Which items you can bring to FIFA 20

When you move to a new title, you can bring with you part of your progress in the previous game.

These ARE carried over to FUT 20:

✅ Established Date;
✅ XP Level;
✅ FC Credits;
✅ FUT Club Name;
✅ FIFA Points.

Established Date

This one is obvious: whether you are a FUT Founder or your club was established this time last year, your established date will remain the same in FIFA 20. There are many complains about established dates, so if your date was wrong in FUT 19, it will still be wrong in FUT 20. There are things that never change.

XP levelling is a system that measures how experienced you are in the FIFA universe. Every time you earn XP, you gradually build up your levelling bar until you reach a new level. Once you unlock a level, you’ll never lose it within your account. It doesn’t matter the game mode, platform or the game on its own. Basically, you’re going to maintain on FIFA 20 the XP you have at the time. You can even go back to FIFA 19 and still earn XP. It’s shown on the superior right corner of the screen, placed below your ID. Maintaining your XP will give you some advantage over the beginners because you’ll have access to several EASFC Catalogue items they don’t.

FC Credits

FC Credits (Football Club Credits; FCC) is the coin used on EA Sports Football Club. Works exactly like the XP, being linked to your Origin account and not directly related to the FIFA you’re playing. It’s basically used to purchase EASFC Catalogue items and it’s shown immediately in front of the XP. Don’t forget to save a few FCC to purchase coin boost items at the start of FUT 20. XP Level and Football Club Credits are important FIFA 20 carryover items. Coin boosts and catalogue items at the start of FIFA 20 are incredibly useful.

FUT Club Name

One of the things EA Sports allows you to keep on FUT 20 is your club name. When you start it for the first time you’ll be asked if you wish to change it or just leave it the same. If you choose yes, you’ve got the right to keep it. You can change it later buying the club name changing EASFC Catalogue item. If you choose no, you’ll be creating a new name and the old one will be available for other people to use.

FIFA Points

FIFA Points are an alternative to coins that are used to purchase FUT packs in the store or enter FUT Drafts. If you don’t intend to spend all your FIFA Points on FUT 19, you can transfer them to FUT 20 until December 31, 2019. You can even buy some by the end of FUT 19 so you can use it in the FUT 20 release date, since it won’t be purchasable during the FIFA 20 Web App Webstart period, except if you have an EA or Origin Access membership. However, this is a one-time transfer, so you’ve got to be careful when you start the game for the first time.

FIFA Points are FIFA 20 carryover items but can only be shared between same consoles. For PC, unlike previous years of FIFA, Point balances transferred to FIFA 20 can only be used in FIFA 20.

Non-Transferable Items

Which items you can’t bring to FIFA 20

When you move to a new title, you can’t bring with you part of your progress in the previous game.

These ARE NOT carried over to FUT 20:
❌ Coins;
❌ Cards;
❌ EASFC Catalogue Items;
❌ Match History, Record and Leaderboard;
❌ Current Division;
❌ Xbox Achievements or PSN Trophies.

If you didn’t know coins can’t be transferred to FUT 20, then you must be disappointed. We’ve all been there so don’t worry, you eventually get over it. Plus buying cards won’t help since they can’t be transferred as well. Don’t know what to do with the coins you’ve been arduously collecting for a year? Give them to someone you know who will not play FIFA 20.

If you’ve got Ronaldo on your team and you’re buying FIFA 20, it’s time to say goodbye to him. None of the cards you currently have in your club will be transferred to FUT 20: not the players, staff, consumables or even your club items. Nothing. Unfortunately, the FUT cards are not FIFA 20 carryover items.

EASFC Catalogue items

The EASFC Catalogue is a kind of a store where players can exchange FC Credits for hundreds of items. For Ultimate Team it’s possible to increase the targets and transfer lists, receive coin bonuses, change the club’s name, increase the maximum number of squads, get players on loan, and even buy “super” 99 contracts for your players. Since this catalogue changes from FIFA to FIFA, you won’t be able to bring items you purchased on previous games. But don’t worry. You will be able to redeem the items of the new catalogue as long as you have enough Football credits to buy them.

Match History, Record and Leaderboard

Are you that one who’s in the Leaderboard TOP 100? Congratulations. Time to take a screenshot, otherwise this awesome deed will be easily forgotten, left behind to ashes. Your Wins/Draws/Losses history will be lost when you stop playing FIFA 19. It won’t count towards FIFA 20. And even if you decide to keep playing it, EA will put an end to it in less than 3 years because, well, they’d just rather not keep spending money on servers few people will playing at. In their words, they do this so they’re able to ‘enhance the user’s experience‘. Better just go take a screenshot then, huh?

Current Division

Do you think that reaching Division 1 Rivals was difficult? If you’ve done it, you’re probably constantly struggling not to get relegated to division 2. What if you get relegated several divisions? This is what will happen when you start FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. If you think you’ll just humiliate your opponents, just forget it. Everyone starts Seasons on a low division: the good and the bad players.

Xbox Achievements or PSN Trophies

You already know this one: new game, new achievements/trophies. Achieving objectives that each console grants you will not be related to FIFA 20, naturally, because they’re specific to each game. Waiting for a TOTW card from a pack? EA thanks your effort. Or not.

Move to FIFA 20

There is no way to bring your FIFA 19 progress to FIFA 20

So much effort for nothing. A whole year trying to get the best players for your team. So many hours spent setting up auctions and then you lose everything. This is probably what’s going on inside your head now… Everyone who’s been through this knows the feeling. But believe it or not, the truth is it just goes away as soon as you start a new FIFA and you go back to chasing that perfect team once again. You’ll see…

But why do we really have to start from the bottom and not be able to keep our cards and coins?
It’s basically for three reasons:

Playing the same game all over again may not be very stimulating. It’s true that you might already have a good team and all, but going back to square one can be much more interesting than it seems to be, especially when everyone is doing the same. This year you’ve probably made a few mistakes and now it’s time to take advantage of what you’ve learned. It’s an opportunity to do it the right way to reach perfection. You can buy several managers right at the start and this will help you save tons of coins throughout the year, for example; you can buy that great player before his price starts to rise madly. Soon you’ll be resigned and will be telling yourself ‘I’m going to follow this awesome site’s tips and this time I will get a top rated player’. Every year, the FIFA community is accepting better this rule. Otherwise, in FIFA 25 every squad would have Messi and Ronaldo.

Let’s not be hypocrites. As players, there is the motivation of building a whole new team and that’s quite enough. However, for EA Sports, the only true reason to carry on would be the money. As soon as they “vanish” all those cards and coins assuming FUT 20 is a completely new game, they’re about to get some ridiculously high profit. It’s not only about forcing players to go for the new packs. It’s a completely new world for the FUT gaming community, everything loses its value from a moment to another; all the old cards and coins go to waste. Don’t think we’re talking small shares of the business. FIFA digital game sales’ annual growth rates have increased and EA Sports already makes more money selling FUT packs than the actual game.

If people would keep in FUT 20 everything they had back in FUT 19, there would be other problems concerning the game’s mechanics. It wouldn’t be the end of it, but that would certainly make the game more confusing and unfair. What’s the logic on having several different rated cards of the same player just because the season has ended? Is it fair to have your players underrated just because they’ve had a worse season? Where’s the fair play when you start the game having millions of coins while others have nothing? This would make the game unsustainable for beginners since all prices would be ridiculously high. In a way, it’s really necessary that the coin flow is managed so we can have a fair, competitive and sustainable game. And this can only be done once we start a new game.

Now that you know you’ll be having useless cards and coins, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to do with them. Most players try and enjoy them until the very end. There are also people that decide to spend them all on packs – fair enough.

The truth is that those coins could be converted to real money, but right now this isn’t really a brilliant deal. In two months before the release of the new game, you won’t be getting more than 50 euros for each million coins, and for another month past, this is reduced to half. So here’s a lesson: if you want to be best rewarded for your effort you’re going to have to think about starting your business sooner next time.

If you’re a generous friend, find someone who’s not getting FIFA 20 and offer them your coins. They will certainly be very thankful. Bear in mind that very few people go back to playing an old FIFA after they’ve started playing a new one, so don’t worry about regretting a possible donation.

After so many disadvantages you might be wondering if it’s worth it or not getting the new FIFA 20. If you’re a fan of the series, it’s safe to say that we recommend it. Besides the renewed experience inside the pitch, you’ll be able to build your team based on what’s going on in real-life football. The transfer market will allow new combinations of players and their ratings will be updated. Before you know you’ll forget what was left behind.

In order to start playing FUT 20 you obviously need to buy FIFA 20. Use the same Origin account you’ve been using so that the system recognizes all your data: FCC, XP, club name and FIFA Points. The older players’ loyalty will be rewarded with early access to the Web App around 2 weeks before the official game release date; all that followed by free starter packs.

Migration for FIFA 20 Ultimate Team

What happens when you switch console

Do you know what happens when you switch your console? Do you believe it is safe to move to the new game? The FIFA 20 carryover for a new console is a topic little more complicated than it seems, so we’ll try to simplify:

From PS4 or PC to XBox One (FUT 19 > FUT 20)
From PS4 or PC to XBox One (FUT 19 > FUT 19)
From XBox One or PC ton PS4 (FUT 19 > FUT 20)
From XBox One or PC to PS4 (FUT 20 > FUT 20)
From Xbox One or PS4 to PC (FUT 19 > FUT 20)
From XBox One or PS4 to PC (FUT 20 > FUT 20)

You’ll only keep what’s linked to your Origin account. That is your XP and FCC.

From PS4 to PS4 (FUT 19 > FUT 20)
From XBox One to XBox One (FUT 19 > FUT 20)
From PC to PC (FUT 19 > FUT 20)

Switching consoles doesn’t mean any disadvantages since you use the same Playstation, Xbox and Origin accounts. We’ve talked about what’s being lost and kept earlier in this article. In other words, you will keep the XP level, FC Credits, name and FIFA Points, and you will lose the coins, cards, EASFC catalogue items, match history, current division, trophies and awards.

From PS4 to PS4 (FUT 20 > FUT 20)
From XBox One to XBox One (FUT 20 > FUT 20)
From PC to PC (FUT 20 > FUT 20)

Whoever plays FUT 20 on a console will be able to keep absolutely everything when they switch to another console. Won’t see a difference. Just use the same Origin account and you’ll be able to see the system recognising your XP, for example. However, you’ll be requested to restart Ultimate Team if you’re not logged in with your PSN ID or Gamertag. Don’t ignore this simple step.

  1. I constantly play against people and see that their teams where established like maybe 2015 etc, i started playing FUT 19 and when I moved to FUT 20 my team name and date of establishment did not continue how do i fix this?

  2. Hi,

    I play FUT on ps4. I am going to buy a new ps4 and new fifa 20 disc. Can I continue with my current FUT team, coins, etc.?

  3. If I switch from FIFA 20 PS4 to FIFA 20 XBOX ONE S will my UT and my players be transfered with the new console?

  4. Hi I was playing FIFA 20 on PC, now i bought a PS4. Is it possible to transfer my ultimate team players etc. from FIFA 20 PC to FIFA 20 PS4? Thanks

  5. I have both 19 and 20. It is disappointing that you buy a game and when the next years version comes out, many features, promotions, and such are disabled or no longer available. Also the transfer market dwindles from millions in Live Transferes to several hundred thousands. Very disappointing. As much as I love the game it makes you want to go elsewhere .

  6. I have just bought FIFA 20 it didn’t ask did I want to transfer my FIFA 19 fut team over have been looking at forum’s all day to see if can get an answer to this but no luck any advice

  7. I’ve played FUT since 2014 and have had my team carried over ever since. However, I did not play FUT19, but back again for 20. Now I have lost all my xp and my team is no longer established in 14 (kind of a bummer). Is all lost when i did not play FUT19?

    1. I’m also having this issue so would be good to get an answer. My club was established April 2011, but I didn’t play Fifa 18 or 19. Now I’ve lost the club established date, plus all my EA Sports Football Club coins to buy boosts with.

      1. So I contacted EA, and they said that this issue was not possible to resolve. Even if I bought FIFA19 and started FUT19 it would not solve the issue since i’ve started on FUT20… I have also played since 11 (not 14). Asked for some FIFA points for compensation, but they could not give me any 🙁

        1. Unbelievable. It happened to us too, a few years ago. Most of the real ‘founders’ are not founders anymore. You can try again if you want because sometimes you can have more luck with who you talk.

          1. So i tried to call again and I the guy I talked to this time told me that a possible soluion could be to install FIFA 19 (actually bought it) and then go back to 20. So I tried that. When I installed FUT19 my team was there with established date 2011 and everything. But then when going back to FUT20 the “new” team was there with establish date 2019. I had not progressed very long, so I attempted to delete my FUT20 team. I deleted, closed the game and went back to check FUT19 (team still there). Deleted all saved data on FIFA20, and re-openened – but now I can only start a new team with no carry over feature. So now I am really gutted… Lost my progress and some money for buying FIFA 19… Will try EA support once more tomorrow, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

          2. A little update.

            After deleting my team I created a new one in FUT20. Instead of carrying over from FUT19, it gave me a new team with a random team name that I could not change (since that task was already registered as done from my first FUT20 team).

            I contacted EA again and tried to explain this complex situation, but they could not help me carrying over my team. However they could restore the team that I deleted, so at least I got something out of it.

            Guess I just have to forget about my team from 2011.

  8. Oldschool Mike

    Thank you for your post. It’s very useful.
    I’m wondering about FP in F-19. If I create a new squad via mobile F-20 app, Is that still possible to transfer FP from F-19 to F-20 in the first run at the console?

  9. hi there…. start webapp today but non of my fifa points transferred.. is that normal ???

  10. sai NITHIN reddy basu

    How to get better rewards in FIFA 20? I mean should I do something in FIFA 19 now to get better rewards is there any chance kinda like that ?

  11. I do not know if I should go over to fifa 20. I have a 98 120 team. Should I change over or wait in what I have now?

  12. After you played FUT20 and installed everything and did the carryover and all, can you still occasionally go back to play FUT19 if you want to, without messing everything up? (You’ll probably never do that, but I’m wondering if it’s even possible…)

    1. Yes, it is possible. The only thing that it will be different in your FUT 19 since the last time you have played is eventually the FIFA Points that you may transferred to the new game.

  13. Can you keep playing FUT 19 in the next weeks or months? How will it be like? Rivals, Squad Battles,… will still be on?

    1. You can keep playing but dynamic content will be disabled. Promo Packs, TOTW and special items will not be released anymore and some of the game modes will be disabled too.

  14. If I buy points in fut 19 now, can I use them on the fifa 20 web app during the webstart period?

  15. Will FIFA19 keep squad battles, division rivals, and the other online game options after the release of FIFA20?

  16. I got transfer banned in FUT 19 for selling my Ronaldo to some fifa coin sites.

    Am I still banned in FUT 20?

    1. It depends on what the message you received from EA says. If it says ‘permanent’, then you will not be able to play FUT 20. In most of the cases, you are not banned for the new title.
